Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of oil mist by providing an internal ring fixed to a shaft and an external ring on which are wound a plurality of balls in a grease coated holder and holding shield plates at both ends thereof and making the gap between a plurality of balls and the shield plate such that the gap on a grease charging side becomes larger than that of an opposite side. CONSTITUTION:A holder 15 for holding a plurality of balls 14 is positioned deflected by to one side from the central part of a bearing inner ring 12 and an outer ring 13. The gaps between a plurality of balls 14 and shield plates 16a, 16b disposed at both the ends of the outer ring 13 are made larger in the gap between the ball 14 and the shield plate 16b and the grease is charged from the shield plate 16b side. Thereby, even when the bearing rotates according to the travel of a magnetic head positioning device, since the gap 18 between the charged grease 17 and the shield plate 16b is fully secured, the generation of oil mist due to the contact of the grease 17 and the shield plate 16b can be prevented.

報の記録や再生を行なういわゆる密封形磁気ディスク装
置は、上記の密閉容器(これをディスクエンクロージャ
、略してDBと称する)内に浮遊する塵埃が磁気ヘッド
と磁気ディスクとの間の微小な間隙内に侵入して磁気デ
ィスクまたは磁気ヘッドの損傷(これをヘッドクラッシ
ュという)が生ずるのを防止するため磁気ディスクの回
転によって生ずる空気流を循環させ、この空気の循環径
路内にエアフィルタ装置を配設してDB内の塵埃を除去
するという手段を備えているのが普通である。

。取付板7上に搭載された磁気ヘッド3は、案内軸6お
よび案内板10に接触しながら転動する軸受8および9
によって直線運動を案内されてその位置決め動作を行な
う。

はグリースがシールド板に接触することもあり、このよ
うな軸受が回転運動を行なうとグリースがオイルミスト
となって外部に飛散しDE内に浮遊するという欠点があ
った。

磁気ディスク装置をオイルミストが磁気ディスク表面に
付着することによって惹起される読み出し誤りやヘッド
クラッシュを防止した信頼性のすぐれたものとすること
ができるという効果がある。
