Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a manicure having excellent water retention power, maintaining healthy surface of nail, even having repairing effects on damaged surface of nail by blending a manicure base with cholesteryl sulfate and/or a salt thereof. CONSTITUTION:A manicure base is blended with 0.01-10wt.%, preferably 0.01-4wt.% based on sum of the manicure base of one or more selected from cholesteryl sulfate and salts thereof, e.g., alkali metal salt such as sodium salt or potassium salt or alkaline earth metal such as calcium or magnesium or organic amine salt such as lysine salt or triethanolamine salt or basic amino acid to give a manicure having excellent water retention power, maintaining a healthy state of surface of nail, even having repairing effects on damaged surface of nail free from fear of safety even in the case of long-term continuous use.

However, when these nail enamels and nail removers are used, the lipids originally present on the surface of the nail plate are removed by the organic solvent, and the nail plate becomes dry at times. Furthermore, with continued use, a healthy nail plate usually contains 10 to 10
It contains 15% water, but some of this water evaporates more easily because the lipids on the surface are removed, causing the nail plate to become dry and damaged, resulting in a condition called double nails.
Problems have been pointed out, such as causing symptoms such as loss of gloss on the entire nail plate.

For example, cholesterol is dissolved in a basic solvent such as pyridine, dimethylformamide, or morpholine, and this is reacted with a sulfuric acid esterifying agent such as sulfuric anhydride, fuming sulfuric acid, or chlorosulfonic acid, and then a conventional method such as fractional precipitation is carried out. Therefore, it can be obtained by purification.

Next, there are no particular restrictions on the dosage form of the nail beauty preparation of the present invention, and solution-based, solubilized-based, emulsified-based, and other dosage forms may be used as appropriate. Here, highly hydrophilic cholesteryl sulfate, such as alkali metal salts, organic amine salts, and basic amino acid salts, are used as one of the water phase components, while hydrophobic cholesteryl sulfate and its alkaline earth metal salts, etc. It is preferable that those having a large value be dissolved or dispersed and uniformly mixed into the nail beauty base as one of the oil phase components.

Forty people with especially weak nails who tend to develop double nails when using regular nail enamel were randomly divided into five groups of eight people each.
We conducted a continuous use test (for 3 months) in which the drug was used once every 3 days.
Nail abnormalities, particularly the percentage of panels with two nails (number of panels with two nails/total number of panels) were evaluated. The evaluation criteria were as follows, and the results are shown in Table-5. - Anal JLt semi- ◎ (good): O/8 to 1/8 Q (slightly good): 2/8 to 3/8Δ (slightly poor)
