リング装置の圧油ロータリーバルブ装置に関する
もので、その目的とするところはバルブハウジン
グのインポートからの圧油がバルブボデイの環状
油溝に流入する時、圧油の乱れによるピー音を発
生することを防止せんとするものである。

より回動するバルブボデイ2内孔2cに嵌合した
バルブスプール部分3外周に形成した複数の軸方
向の油路3aを経て油路3bよりリターンポート
1cに流入しシリンダー(図示せず)に選択供給
し、ハンドル軸を大きく回動した時ピニオン4に
噛合摺動するラツク5を該シリンダーの油圧で加
圧しハンドル操作を軽くするようになつている。
そして、バルブハウジング1のインポート1aと
バルブボデイ2外周の環状油溝2aとを断面円形
の通孔1dで連通しているが、バルブボデイ2の
外周には多数のパツキング溝が形成されパツキン
グ6が一定間隔で嵌合されているので通孔1dを
所定径以上に大きくできず該通孔1dを流れる圧
油の流速は8m/sec以上となり、該圧油が環状
油溝2aに流入する時流れが乱れてピー音を発生
する。このピー音はバルブ作動中のみならず中立
位置でも発生し特に通孔1dが油路2bと合つた
位置から約10度油路2bが回転した位置でピー音
は最高になる。このピー音を小さくするには通孔
1dを大きくして圧油の流速を小にするか又は環
状油溝2aを深くすぜばよいが、そのようにする
とバルブハウジング1が大きくなり、最近の小型
軽量化の傾向に伴つて部品も小型化するという条
件と反することになり、更にFF化、小型軽量化
と共にステアリング装置は更に車室に近づきハン
ドルコラムを通してこのピー音が車室内に伝わり
運転車に不快感を与えるという欠点があつた。

断面円形なのでドリルで形成できるので加工が容
易である。
