Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject pellet capable of remarkably improving the feeding rate of breeding cattle and increasing the body weight within a short period by adding a specific amount of smoked charcoal to crushed chaff, mixing the components under the addition of an aqueous solution and granulating the mixture in the form of pellet. CONSTITUTION:Chaff is crushed with a crusher 102 and the obtained crushed product is supplied to a constant rate feeder 201 and introduced into a mixer 104 together with 5-20wt.% of smoked charcoal supplied from a smoked charcoal feeder 107. The crushed material is mixed with the smoked charcoal while supplying an aqueous solution of molasses from a water-feeder 106 to the mixer. The obtained mixture is supplied to a pelletizer 202, compression-molded into pellets, cooled with a cooler 203 and dried to obtain the objective pellet.

The rice husk consists of an inside and an outside, and the cell membrane that forms the main part of these parts has a strong structure consisting of a coating of silica and lignin. The lignin in rice hulls is tightly bound to hemicellulose, which structurally tightly covers the digestible carbohydrates inside. Tests and research have been conducted to utilize this digestible carbohydrate, or crude fiber content, as roughage (feed that is used in conjunction with concentrate feed to prevent overeating of concentrate feed and increase its feed efficiency).
Previous research reports from livestock research institutes and universities in various locations have shown that paddy husks are subjected to treatments such as mechanical crushing, chemical dissolution of the epidermis, and biological decomposition by bacteria to expose the crude fiber content. A method has been proposed to improve digestibility by increasing the digestibility.

However, in all of these methods, the powder is used in the form of powder, which has poor edibility and low feed efficiency, and although the volume ratio is smaller than that of paddy hulls, it is still bulky. However, there were flaws such as high transportation costs.

In order to improve these problems, a method of pelletizing rice hulls has been proposed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 59-6845. In this method, 1 volume of paddy husk is crushed so that it becomes 0.3 to 0.4 volume,
Adjust the water absorption rate to 200% or more, add 10 to 25% by weight of water or an aqueous solution to the weight of the paddy hulls, mix well, and use a granulator to reduce the hardness to about 18 to 25 kg/granule. It is compression molded, cooled with an air stream, and dried to a total moisture content of 15% by weight or less. Although the pellets obtained by this method are improved in terms of transportability compared to the conventional form of paddy hulls, their edibility when fed during breeding is still insufficient.

In order to achieve the above object, the present inventor is currently conducting extensive studies on various feedstuffs, and has found that a mixture of charcoal (steamed rice husk) and pelletized rice husk improves the feeding ability of beef cattle. They have found that this can be significantly improved, and have arrived at the present invention.

Next, the pulverized material is blown to the cyclone 103 by the blower 105, where the fine powder is sent to the dust collection chamber by overflow, while the pulverized material other than the fine powder is sent to the cyclone 103.
The charcoal is supplied by underflow to the quantitative feeder 201, where it is sent to the mixer 104 along with a predetermined amount of charcoal supplied from the charcoal feeder 107, and at least molasses is added from the water adder 106 attached to the mixer. After the aqueous feed additive solution containing the feed additive is added, it is thoroughly mixed. The mixture is then fed to a pelletizer 202 and compression molded into pellets. These pellets are heated to 70-80°C due to frictional heat during compression molding, and the total moisture content (including the moisture content of the paddy hull itself) is 20-30%, so they are transferred to the next cooling machine 203. The material is cooled by ventilation from the blower 207 and simultaneously dried to a total moisture content of 15% or less. These pellets are then put into the classifier 205, and after being sieved into a predetermined size (6 to 10 mm diameter),
The product is temporarily stored in a product tank 206 by the conveyor 204. The powder generated by crushing the pellets in the classifier 205 is returned to the inlet of the quantitative feeder 201 as an undersize powder, and is granulated again into a product.

The pelletized product passes through a quantitative cutting machine 208 and then is automatically packed in bags or containers by a packaging machine 209 and stored or shipped via a shipping facility 210. The charcoal used in the present invention is generally preferably one obtained by steaming rice hulls (roasted rice hulls), but it may also be one obtained by steaming grains other than rice hulls (rice hulls).
