Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a user to confirm easily recording paper discharged after the completion of recording, by providing within a recording paper receiving portion whose inner surface is made to be of a specular surface state or of a polished surface state, an illuminating means for the discharged recording paper and a control means controlling the action of illumination. CONSTITUTION:After the completion of recording, recording paper 1 is delivered in an arrow B direction as a control means 11 drives paper discharge rollers 2, and the recording paper 1 is discharged onto a recording paper receiving portion 3, and when the control means 11 has detected the tip of the recording paper 1 by means of a detecting means 10, an illuminating means 12 is lit, thus making easy the confirmation of the recording paper 1 at the recording paper receiving portion 3. Hereupon, the illuminating means 12 is kept on being lit enough for a period during which lighting is started due to the detection of the tip of the recording paper 1, and the recording paper 1 is discharged into the recording paper receiving portion 3 and taken out. And the control means 11 puts light off the illuminating means 12.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, the above configuration has the following problems. First, the position of the outlet for ejecting the recorded paper into the paper receiver is located at the back of the front surface due to dimensional constraints such as various mechanisms. The paper is ejected towards the back of the unit, and the paper holder is darker at the back of the unit, making it difficult to see the paper.Secondly, when trying to make the device thinner, the paper holder is placed in the front opening of the unit. As the height becomes lower, the range of the user's viewpoint where the recording paper can be directly seen becomes narrower, and the range where the recording paper can be directly seen becomes narrower. In order to solve the above problem, a method of separately providing a means for ejecting the recording paper at the front side may be considered, but this method requires a separate mechanism for that purpose, which makes the configuration of the apparatus complicated. have.

5 is a platen roller, 6 is a thermal head, and 7 is an ink cartridge that can be inserted and taken out from the front of the device housing, and when the recording paper 1 is fed, the thermal head 6 moves the recording paper 1 and the ink cartridge 7. The ink sheet is pressed against the platen roller 5 with the ink sheet sandwiched therebetween, and the control means 11 selectively causes the heating element of the thermal head 6 to generate heat to rotate the platen roller 5 in the direction of arrow C, thereby performing recording. Also, 8 is a recording start switch, 9
is an LED that lights up when recording is possible;
When the recording start switch 8 is pressed while D9 is lit, the control means 11 detects this and starts recording. Also, 1
0 is a detection means for detecting the ejection of the recording paper 1, whereby the control means 11 detects the ejection state of the recording paper. A recording paper tray 12 is an illumination means for illuminating the recording paper discharged into the section 3, and the recording paper tray is constituted by a small-diameter fluorescent lamp provided in the upper back corner of the interior of the section 3. Note that the lighting means 12
The light source is not limited to a fluorescent lamp, but may be constructed using a light source such as a light bulb or an LED. Further, the control means 11 detects that the recording start switch is pressed and controls each part for recording, such as the paper feed roller 4, platen roller 5, thermal head 6, paper ejection roller 2, LEDe, etc. In addition, the operation of the illumination means 12 is controlled in response to a detection signal of the leading edge of the recording paper output from the detection means 10. The apparatus of this embodiment has one housing, and the recording start switch 8 and LED 9 described above are provided on the front of the housing. Further, an opening for replacing the ink cartridge 7 and an opening for replenishing the recording paper 1 are similarly provided on the front surface of the housing. Further, the paper discharge roller 2, the recording paper receiver 3, the paper feed roller 4, the platen roller 5, the thermal head 6, the detection means 10, the control means 11, etc.
It is embedded in the casing. Also, as I mentioned earlier,
The recording paper receiver section 3 has an opening on the front surface of the housing, and is configured to allow the recording paper to be taken out.

The operation of the printer device of this embodiment configured as described above will be described below. When the user presses the recording start switch 8 while the LED 9 is lit, that is, when the recording start is waiting, the control means 11 detects that the recording start switch 8 has been pressed, The control means 11 turns off the LED 9 and operates the paper feed roller 4 to feed the recording paper 1 in the direction of arrow A to the recording position. Next, the control means 11 controls the thermal head 6
is selectively driven, and the platen roller 5 is rotated in the direction of arrow C to perform recording on the recording paper 1. After the recording is completed, the control means 11 drives the paper ejection roller 2 to feed the recording paper 1 in the direction of arrow B, thereby ejecting the recording paper 1 to the paper receiver section 3. 11 detects the leading edge of the recording paper 1 by the detection means 10, the illumination means 12 is turned on, and the recording paper receiver facilitates confirmation of the recording paper 1 in the section 3. Detecting means 1 for detecting the end of recording paper 1
0 is detected, and after driving the paper ejection roller 2 for a certain period of time, the drive of the paper ejection roller 2 is stopped, the next recording is ready, the LED 9 is turned on, and the recording start switch 9 is pressed again. The system enters a state of waiting for recording to start. Here, the illumination means 12 is turned on for a sufficient period of time from when the leading edge of the recording paper 1 is turned on until the recording paper 1 is ejected to the recording paper receiver 3 and taken out, and then the control means 11 turns on the illumination means 12. The means 12 is turned off.

FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line DD' in FIG. 1 with the recording paper 1 discharged into the recording paper tray 3, and 13 is the user's viewpoint. As shown in FIG. 2, in the printer device of this embodiment, even if the recording paper 1 is ejected only to the back of the recording paper tray 3, the illumination means 12 turns on and the recording paper is ejected. In addition to the fact that the back of section 3 of the receiver is brightly illuminated, the inner surface of section 3 of the recording paper receiver is mirror-like, so the view point 403 is the same as that of the conventional example shown in Fig. 4, where the recording paper could not be seen. Even when the viewpoint 13 is located at the position, the recording paper 1 is reflected on the mirror surface of the recording paper holder 3, so that the visible range of the recording paper 1 is range a shown in the figure. In addition, in addition to the fact that the range of the position of the viewpoint 13 where the recording paper 1 can be seen is wider than that of the conventional example, when considering the position of the viewpoint 13 as fixed, the range of the position of the recording paper 1 is wider than that of the conventional example. It can be said that it is possible to see.

As described above, according to this embodiment, the recording paper receiver is provided with the illumination means 12 that illuminates the recording paper 1 discharged into the section 3, so that when the illumination means 12 is turned on, the recording paper 1 is illuminated. In addition to being able to easily tell when recording has finished, the user can also easily tell which part of section 3 the recording paper holder was in because the inner surface of section 3 is mirror-like. However, due to the reflection of the mirror surface, the visible range of the recording paper 1 is wider than before, and the range of the position of the user's viewpoint where the recording paper 1 can be seen is also wider than before, so that the user can see the recording paper 1 more easily than before.

Further, the recording paper holder may be provided with only an illumination means for illuminating the recording paper discharged into the unit, or the recording paper holder may only have a mirror or glossy inner surface of the unit. Further, in this embodiment, the control means operates the illumination means to illuminate the recording paper when the detection means detects the leading edge of the recording paper, but the timing of operating the illumination means is not limited to this. It's not something you can do. For example, the illumination means may be operated simultaneously with turning on the power of the apparatus or in conjunction with the operation of a recording start switch.
