Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent forgery by detecting that originals such as bank notes and securities, whose copying is prohibited are to be copied, when someone tries to do that and controlling copying output. CONSTITUTION:When copying operation is indicated by an operator with a keyboard 1, an image reading means 6 is driven by a CPU 1 and an original image is read. The same operation is repeated four times by switching color filters and the read images are developed in an image memory 7 for each color. Then a bank note detecting means 9 is operated and whether or not image data in the image memory 7 shows bank notes or securities is inspected. A means is provided which prohibits copying based on the result judged by the means 9. Hereby forgery can be prevented.
