Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce an initial cost by painting both ends of the pillar parts and horizontal plane of a body with a variable atomization electrostatic painter which can move vertically and horizontally. CONSTITUTION:Both side faces of a body W are painted by the side part atomization electrostatic painters 1 in a conventional manner and the front surface is painted by the upper part atomization electrostatic painter 2. The variable painter 6 which is movable vertically and horizontally is held by arms 8 having joints 7 and is provided to a carriage 5 to which the side part atomization electrostatic painters 1 are fixed. Both end parts of the hood having a step are, therefore, painted by the variable painter 6 which is moved downward by the joints 7. The pillar parts are painted as the carriage 5 is retreated and the painter 6 is displaced by the joints 7 so as to head toward the pillar parts. The two end parts of the horizontal plane of the body W and the pillar parts are, therefore, commonly painted, by which the initial cost is reduced; in addition, the painting of both end parts of the horizontal plane having a step and the central part is uniformized.

<Prior art> In the conventional method of automatically painting automobile bodies conveyed through a painting line using atomized electrostatic coating, as shown in FIG. The upper surface of the body W, such as the engine room hood, roof, and trunk lid, was painted using a horizontally moving upper exposure electrostatic coating fI12, and the pillar part was painted using a fixed pillar atomizing electrostatic coating machine 3. It's being painted.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> The conventional coating method described above has the following problems. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the hood and the roof have different areas, so paint drips and rough readings are likely to occur, and there is a step between the center and both ends 4a of the hood 4. Therefore, the distance interval from the upper atomizing electrostatic coating machine 2 is 1

Means for Solving the Problems> The present invention has solved the above-mentioned conventional problems, and the present invention provides a method for automatic painting of automobile bodies conveyed through a painting line. The machine coats both sides of the body, the top surface of the body is painted by an upper atomizing electrostatic coating machine that moves horizontally, and the pillars and both ends of the horizontal plane are coated with variable atomizing electrostatic coating that can move vertically and horizontally. It was painted using a machine.

<Effects of the Invention> As described above, the method of the present invention includes, in addition to the conventional side atomization coating machine and top atomization coating machine, a variable atomization electrostatic coating machine that can move vertically and horizontally. Since the upper atomizing paint machine is used to paint both ends of the horizontal body where there is a step and the pillar area, where the required coating cannot be obtained with the upper atomizing paint machine, the painting of both ends of the horizontal body surface is uniform with the painting of the central part. This makes it possible to achieve a high-quality finish with a high appearance, reduce installation costs by painting different parts, and make it easier to deal with multi-piece types or changes to the main type.
