Abstract

PURPOSE:To fold an easy-to-see large screen to small size and to improve its portability, and to make a LCD small and to improve the mass-productivity for cost reduction by allowing an image display means consisting of image display parts to be folded. CONSTITUTION:A color liquid display part is divided into a right half part 15a and a left half part 15b, which are fitted to a right case 20a and a left case 20b. In the cases, an antenna for TV broadcast transmission and reception, a tuner circuit for channel selection, a video signal processing circuit, and an image dividing/reducing circuit which divides one screen of a continuous video signal into two are provided to reproduce images on the right and left half parts 15a and 15b and also reproduce the whole screen which is reduced to half on one part with a switch. Further, a back light for making the image easy to see, and a circuit and a speaker which processes an audio signal are fitted. Consequently, the size reduction of the device for excellent portability and the size increase of the screen are both realized at the same time.

By doing this, when not in use, it can be folded into a small size as shown in Figure 4, and has excellent portability, and when in use, it can be folded into a small size.
By unfolding it as shown in the figure, you can make a large screen and make it easier to see.
Since it is constructed using two CDs, the productivity of the LCDE is high and costs can be significantly reduced, and the screen can be easily increased in size without sacrificing portability.

The configuration of the electrical circuit of this embodiment is the same as that shown in FIG. 2, except that the liquid crystal display (LCD) 40 is not a transmissive type but a reflective type, and A flexible resin base was used instead of a glass base. Also L
A thin shape-memory alloy plate is installed on the back of the CD40, so the LCD screen can be removed when not in use, as shown in Figures 11 and 12.
Even if 40 is made smaller by curling or bending, when necessary, by heating the shape memory alloy with battery energy to a temperature higher than a predetermined temperature, it will spread out as shown in Figure 10, wrinkles will disappear, and it will return to its original state. It can be restored to its original state (plate-like) and a large screen can be formed without any inconvenience.
It is also convenient to carry, and can be stored in a small bag and carried around easily.

In the above embodiment, an example was shown in which each LCDE was provided with a backlight using a fluorescent lamp, but as shown in Fig. 13, it is possible to efficiently collect natural light and indoor light and use it as a backlight. You may also do so. In other words, in this type of conventional device, the mirror was fixed to the rear case, making it impossible to efficiently collect light. However, in this embodiment, the case 50 consists of a front case 51 for mounting the LCDE 54, a mirror section 52 having a flexible constriction section 55, and a rear case 53 for lowering the center of gravity to stabilize and fix the device. , the angle of the front case 51 and the mirror part 52 can be freely changed independently with respect to the rear case 53, and the vertical angle can be adjusted. It can be rotated freely in either direction, and light can be focused and efficiently irradiated onto the LCDE 54 regardless of the incident angle (direction) of ambient light and the position of the device, resulting in a bright and easy-to-read display device. This can be achieved without using electrical energy, resulting in power savings. Further, as the mirror of the mirror portion 52, ground glass may be used in order to reduce unevenness in the strength of the incident light, and a concave mirror may also be used.
