A truncated conical porous plug 3 is fitted from below into a taper hole 2 formed in a brick 1 in a plug holder attached to the bottom of the ladle, and fixed with joint mortar 4. This porous plug 3 has a metal coating such as a metal case on the lower outer peripheral surface and the bottom in order to reinforce the refractory that constitutes the plug and to prevent the blown gas from leaking from the side.

Therefore, in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 52-9850, the porous plug 3 is surrounded by a non-porous monolithic refractory material, and only the top surface of the porous plug 3 is used as a gas ejection surface. By surrounding the porous plug 3 with the monolithic refractory, gas leakage from the sides is prevented, and the adhesion of the plug receiver to the brick 1 is improved.

As a result, for example, there may be areas where the joint mortar 4 is not spread or is insufficient, increasing the risk of molten metal leaking from these areas.

The refractory block is characterized in that it is coated or pasted in a sheet form on at least the metal surface of the refractory block, and a joint mortar is applied thereon.

may be formed over the entire side surface of the porous plug 3 as shown in FIG. 1, or may be formed only on the metal coating 5. Note that FIG. 1 shows a state in which a roughened layer 8 is formed on the side surface of the porous plug 3, and when the plug holder of the molten metal container is attached to a brick, it can be used as explained in FIG. 2. Next, joint mortar is further applied on the roughened layer 8. In this sense, the reference numerals in FIG. 2 are used appropriately in the following description.

The same material as the joint mortar may be used. Among these, refractory powders containing carbon and graphite are particularly preferred materials because they also have mold releasability. For example, it can be added as carbonaceous brick waste or beaded graphite. Add water to this refractory powder as needed,
Or add resin bond, water glass.

A roughened layer is formed. At this time, water may be added to the mixture to facilitate application of the mixture. That is, when forming a roughened layer, the greater the tackiness of the mixture, the more likely it is that unevenness or undulation will occur on the surface, but on the contrary, the workability of coating will be inferior. Therefore, by comparing and considering the formation of the roughened layer and the coating workability and adding water in an appropriate amount, a mixture having adhesive properties that satisfies both requirements can be obtained. Addition of water is also economically advantageous.

The present invention is applicable when the binder itself dries and its particles form a roughened layer with irregularities, to which joint mortar easily adheres and has fire resistance.

As shown in FIG. 2, the plug holder improves mold releasability when removing the porous plug 3 attached to the brick 1. This mixture is applied to the side surface of the porous plug 3 by brushing, brushing, roller coating, or the like. Since the applied mixture is an amorphous material, it can be applied uniformly to the surface of the metal coating 5, and it easily adheres to the metal coating due to the adhesiveness of the binder, resulting in a wavy or uneven surface.

Various types can be used. Further, the height of the unevenness of the roughened layer 8 after coating or pasting is preferably 3.5 cm or less. This is because - when the thickness of the joint mortar 4 exceeds 3.5 mm during target construction, erosion occurs.

Its surface roughness is also uniformly distributed. Therefore, the joint mortar 4 is easily applied onto the roughened layer 8 with a uniform thickness. Moreover, the time required for applying the joint mortar 4 is also reduced by about 80% compared to the case where the roughened layer 8 is not formed.

Seizure does not occur between the porous plug 3 body and the metal coating 5. The carbon component may be mixed into the refractory powder, or may be contained by using a resin or the like that carbonizes with heat as a binder. Furthermore, when pasting a sheet of sandpaper or the like, if the sheet is paper or organic fiber, it will be carbonized by heat, and the same effect will be achieved.

A sufficient amount of mortar was filled between the plug receiver and the brick 1, and the porous plug 3 was fixed with excellent airtightness. Further, by applying a force of 5 tons to the porous plug 3, the plug receiver was able to pull out the porous plug 3 from the brick 1. The roughened layer 8 remained on the brick 1 side of the plug holder, and the removed porous plug 3 did not show any damage.

On top of the roughened layer 8, the same joint mortar 4 was applied to a thickness of 7 mm. Thereafter, the porous plug 3 was fixed to the brick 1 for the plug holder in the same manner. In this case as well, the plug holder is made of brick 1 and porous plug 3.
The joint mortar 4 was sufficiently filled between the two. Further, the force required to remove the porous plug 3 was 4 tons, and the removed porous plug 3 was in a healthy state.

Furthermore, the porous plugs 3 that were pulled out also produced fractured portions 7 four out of five times.

。As explained above, in the present invention, joint mortar is applied on the roughened layer formed in advance on the side surface of the refractory block. Therefore, the adhesion of the joint mortar is good, and a mortar layer having the required thickness can be quickly formed. The formed roughened layer is removed when the refractory block is pulled out from the opening provided in the molten metal container.
Easily peels off from the refractory block body. Therefore, defects such as 9-9 fractures do not occur in the refractory block. In this way, according to the present invention, the refractory block can be easily attached to and removed from the molten metal container.
