Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the automatic washing machine of light weight and high cleaning efficiency, by setting a drying device consisting of a hot air generator and a hot air fan, and by rotating a dehydrating cage at a high speed, to permit the washing to come in contact with hot air and to dry the washing, after the washing is dehydrated. CONSTITUTION:On the bottom plate of the external box 1 of an automatic washing machine, a hot air generator 11, and a hot air fan consisting of a blower 12 and a flexible tube 13 are arranged. The washing 9 is dehydrated and after that, when a hydrating cage 3 is rotated at a high speed and at the same time, hot air generated by the hot air generator 11 is fed into the cage from a section near the center of the upper section of the dehydrating cage by the blower 12, then the hot air comes in contact with the washing 9 in the cage, and after the washing 9 is dried, it goes through a water slot 4 with a centrifugal force and is discharged outside the machine via a drain hose 8 or the like for example.

[Function] During washing, the drying device is operated to blow warm air into the laundry from the center of the upper part of the spin-drying basket while rotating the spin-drying basket at high speed.
