Methylpyrrolidone, γ-butyrolactone, and the like are used, but these solvents attack the dyeable resists forming the color filters, such as gelatin, casein, and glue. Therefore, it is necessary to use a solvent-resistant resin as the protective layer.

。Furthermore, when a color filter is formed by a photolithography method or a printing method, the surface always becomes uneven and does not become a smooth surface. By coating on this surface,
When coated, it is impossible to completely level the surface, no matter how good a material is used. Further, when this color filter is used as a liquid crystal display device, in the manufacturing process, it is bonded to an opposing substrate to form a panel, but it is necessary to scatter a spacer material to create a necessary gap between the upper and lower substrates. In particular, if the surface of the substrate on the color filter side is not smooth, steps may occur, and depending on the position where a certain size of spacer material is formed, the gap may vary widely, or the color filter film may be destroyed and the transparent conductive film may be damaged. t11, which causes a short circuit between the opposite sides. Furthermore, coating methods such as spin cord and roll coating use a large amount of resin and solvent during coating, and a drying step is always required after coating, which is one of the causes of high costs.

First, as shown in FIG. 1, a Cr vapor deposition film is deposited on a transparent glass substrate 1. After the formation, a black pattern 2 was formed by photolithography. Next, after coating the entire surface with a photosensitive resin (gelatin), a relief pattern was formed using a photolithography method, and the relief pattern was selectively dyed using a dyeing method, followed by resist dyeing treatment. This selective dyeing process is repeated the required number of times (in the case of this example, 3 times) to obtain red (R) and green (G).
A repetitive relief pattern 3 of blue (B) and blue was formed to obtain a color filter A as shown in FIG.

The resin that becomes the protective layer softens and hardens as it penetrates into the irregularities on the surface of the color filter and is bonded. As a result, irregularities on the surface of the color filter are mostly absorbed, so that a very flat color filter can be obtained. Particularly when producing a liquid crystal panel, it is effective for gap regulation, and is highly effective in improving panel performance and yield. Further, since it is easy to form a pattern in advance when producing a transfer sheet, patterning can be performed without going through a patterning process of a protective film. Furthermore, by pressing the transfer sheet, protrusions caused by foreign matter in the filter are crushed, so that it is possible to prevent opposing short circuits in the panel forming process.
