部(lb)  (lb)の嵌合凹部(5)(5)にこれ
に対応する嵌合凸部(3)(3)を嵌合せしめた。後者
の嵌合は、前者の圧入嵌合による連結に対してリムの半
径方向に対する強度を補強するように作用するものであ
る。この実施例のように連結用のピンを用いないように
すれば環状リム材としての動バランス特性を良好なもの

発明の効果 この発明に係る環状リム材における端部接合方法は、」

部を形成すると共に、他方の対向端面に前記凸部に対応
する嵌合凹部を形成し、該凹部に前記凸部を圧入嵌合せ
しめるものであるから、対向端面どおしをフラッシュパ
ッド溶接により接合一体止する場合のように、リムとし
ての使用時に外観される内周面側を含む接合部にいわゆ
るパリができることがなく、外観体裁の悪化を招ことも
ない。このため上記パリを除去するためのパフ研磨等の
仕上げ処理作業を不要としうるばかりか、アルマイト処
理を施した後に曲成することが可能であるので、環状に
曲成した後に同処理する場合と較べてコストの低減を図
りうる。
