Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the electrical characteristics, mechanical strength and metallizing strength of mullite porcelain as an electric insulator by incorporating specified amts. of K2O, BaO, MgO and Na2O. CONSTITUTION:Mullite porcelain is composed of 0.2-1wt.% K2O, 1-8-wt.% BaO and/or MgO, 0.5-0wt.% Na2O and the balance essentially mullite. Silica and alumina powders may be used as starting materials for the mullite in <=2 molar ratio of Al2O3 to SiO2. The mullite porcelain has <=5X10<-2> tandelta, 2,000kg/cm<2> deflective strength and >=5kg/mm<2> metallizing strength.

8時間混合粉砕し・、噴霧乾燥によって平均粒径100
μの顆粒に造粒し、圧力1500Kt/dで加圧成形後
、第1表に示す温度で焼成することによってムライト磁
器−1〜rk18及び−19を製造した。
