Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the appearance of a mark itself as a picture in a copy by making the mode selectively switchable between a mode which allows a mark to be contained in a mark area and another mode which allows the mark not to be contained in the mark area. CONSTITUTION:A signal (f) becomes 'H' (f=H) at the time of trimming mode. A signal (g) becomes 'H' (g=H) at the time of masking mode. In both trimming and masking mode times, the output signal (k) of a selector 6 becomes '0' (k=0) in a mark B and the mark B itself is compulsorily converted into white, leaving pictures in an interior area A only. As mentioned above, a means which selectively switches the mode between a mode which allows a mark itself to be contained in the mark area and another mode which allows the mark not to be contained in the mark area is constituted of selectors 5 and 6 and a gate 7 which inputs a signal (h).

In conventional image processing devices of this type, areas are specified using coordinates using a numeric keypad provided on the operation board, or
A document image once read is displayed on an RT display device, and an area is specified using a cursor, light pen, mouse, etc. while viewing the image. According to the former method, it is troublesome to read and input the coordinates of the specified area of the document, and in fact, the area that can be specified is limited to simple shapes such as rectangles.

Further, according to the latter method, the device becomes large and complicated, and the cost increases, and real-time processing is not possible, so it is not suitable for copying devices, facsimile machines, etc. used in ordinary offices.

As a solution to this problem, Japanese Patent Publication No. 60-33333 discloses an apparatus for detecting an area based on an L-shaped display of a predetermined color written on a document.

According to this, an area can be designated by simply writing a mark on the document. However, since the L-shaped display is made of two adjacent sides of a rectangle, the specified area is inevitably limited to the rectangle, and there are other disadvantages such as the need for color discrimination means to detect the L-shaped mark of a predetermined color. There is.

Based on this background, the applicant has proposed that if an arbitrary area on a document is surrounded with a mark using, for example, a colored felt marker with a density included in the set density range, that area will become a second mark. We have already proposed a technology that enables the detection of any designated area by detecting it as a region (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6

To this end, the present invention provides an image processing apparatus in which an area is designated by a mark written on a document, and the part surrounded by the mark is used as the mark area to be trimmed or masked. The present invention is characterized by having means for selectively switching between an included mode and a non-included mode.

以下、本発明の一実施例を図面に基づき説明する。Hereinafter, one embodiment of the present invention will be described based on the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a logical block diagram of main parts according to the present invention,
1 is a mark detection circuit, and 2 is a mark area detection circuit. The signal a input to the mark detection circuit 1 is 6 bits 64
The gradation image data, the signal C output from the mark detection circuit 1 is a mark signal, and the signal C output from the mark area detection circuit 2 is a mark area signal including a mark and surrounded by marks. The output signal d of the AND gate 4 is a mark area signal excluding the mark itself within the mark area. 3 is an inverter, 5 is a selector, and if the output signal i of the AND gate 7 input to the set terminal S is "H", it is the output signal end of the selector 5, and if it is "i-L", e=c

The signal f becomes f=“H” in the trimming mode. The signal g becomes "H" in the masking mode. The signal is a signal that controls whether or not the mark itself is included in the mark area, regardless of trimming/masking, and is linked to a selection switch on the operation section of the device (not shown). h
If h=“H”, the mark itself is not included during trimming, and if h=“L”, the mark itself is also included in the mark area regardless of trimming/masking.

FIG. 5 is a diagram showing data corresponding to FIG. 3, similar to FIG. 4, for the case of signal h="L'" in FIG. h
If = "H", as shown in Figure 4, during both trimming and masking, the mark itself, that is, 'B, will have a signal = 0, the mark itself will be forcibly converted to "white 1," and the internal area A will be On the other hand, if h = "S", as shown in Figure 5, the mark itself, that is, B, will have a signal of = j during trimming, and if the mark is dark, 1 of the mark will remain in the binarization. If the area is black, the mark will fade and appear black on the copy. However, if the mark is not dark enough to appear on the copy, especially when specifying a small area, it is better to surround it with marks. If it is easier to specify an area by filling it out, it may be easier to operate if h=“L”.

In the present invention, as described above, the selectors 5 and 6 and the gate 7 which manually inputs the mark erasure control signal constitute a means for selectively switching between a mode in which the mark itself is included in the mark area and a mode in which it is not included.

Note that in the mark detection circuit 1, mark area detection circuit 2, and binarization circuit (not shown) (circuit that generates signal j) shown in FIG. 1, delays occur in the signals due to signal processing, respectively. Of course, compensation for this delay is performed according to the needs of each circuit. Conventionally, various methods have been known to compensate for this delay, so they are omitted in FIG.

In this way, in the present invention, when trimming, if the mark itself is blurred by copying when the mark is under IR, you can set the signal to high level with the selection switch (not shown) on the operation panel. , the mark area excluding the mark itself can be used as the trimming area.

As described above, according to the present invention, since it is possible to selectively switch between a mode in which the mark itself is included in the mark area and a mode in which it is not included, it is possible to prevent the mark from appearing as an image during trimming even when the mark is dark. I can do it. In addition, if you want to specify a relatively narrow range as the mark area, or if you want to exclude an image that is close to the outside of the area you want to specify, you can improve the operability of marking by using the mode that includes the mark in the mark area. It can be improved.
