On the other hand, in the conventional thermal transfer film 10 of this type, the portions excluding the ink layer 4, that is, the heat-resistant layer 1 base material 2, and the matte layer 3 were all colorless and transparent.

It is constructed by providing a meltable ink layer 4 over the entire surface by coating or the like.

The image is melted and transferred to the recording paper. As a result of this transfer, an image is recorded on the recording paper by the partially transferred ink layer along the pattern of the heated portion. Along with this, the thermal transfer film 1
0, a non-ink layer portion 5 remains on the trace of the ink layer transferred to the recording paper.

However, this ink-free layer portion 5 is colored in the same color as the remaining portion of the ink layer 4, and thus blocks the transmission of light t in the same way as the ink layer 4.

There is almost no contrast to distinguish between the two. Therefore, even if the used thermal transfer film 10 is held up against a backlight or a white background, it is almost impossible to read the image information recorded on the recording paper. This makes it possible to eliminate the fear that recorded image information will be read from the used thermal transfer film, thereby increasing confidentiality.

Alternatively, the heat-resistant layer 1 may be colored. In addition, base material 2
It is also possible to omit the heat-resistant layer 1 and the matte layer 3 by selecting the material.

Since it is possible to eliminate contrast between the ink layer portion 5 that has been thermally transferred and the non-ink layer portion 5 that has been thermally transferred, it is difficult to decipher the image information recorded by thermal transfer from the traces, thereby increasing confidentiality. This has the effect that it can be done.
