After accurately positioning the film original on a surface (formed of transparent glass), the film original is fixed at appropriate places around the periphery with sellotape or the like. Therefore, on the document placement plate surface, the portions that are not covered by the film document and the margins of the film document (i.e., the portions that will not become the final product,
(hereinafter referred to as "non-manuscript section"), tape, paper, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "light-shielding paper")
This is done so that the non-original area will be shielded from light during printing, but this process will depend on the size of the original. The process has to be changed, which is not only complicated, but also a big waste of time. Further, this light-shielding paper has other drawbacks, such as being easily peeled off and adhesive waste coming out, which easily stains the surface of the document placement plate.

When the above work is completed, remove the original holder from the light table, attach the original holder to the printing plate, and then operate the original holder drive mechanism provided in the printing plate to move the original holder to the surface of the photosensitive plate. moving the document to a predetermined location, and activating the vacuum mechanism to bring the surface of the document placement plate and the surface of the photosensitive plate into vacuum contact, and applying light to perform printing;
By repeating these operations, a so-called printing plate is created in which the original image is printed on multiple predetermined locations on the surface of the photosensitive plate. However, with this current method, as described above,
Even though the film original and the photosensitive plate are brought into close contact with each other under vacuum, the light-shielding paper between the film original and the photosensitive plate prevents the original mounting plate from coming into perfect contact with the film original and the photosensitive plate. It is closed. That is, as shown in FIG. 1A, a gap is created at the boundary between the film original, the light-shielding paper B, and the photosensitive plate C, and as a result, the halftone dots in this area (periphery of the finished product) become unclear. The occurrence of so-called blurred feet is becoming unavoidable.

Now, photoengraving can be roughly divided into two methods: one is to create a positive version from a negative film original, and the other is to create a positive version from a positive film original.
In both of the above methods, the latter (method of creating a positive plate from a positive film original) uses a plate material (a method of creating a positive plate from a positive film original) coated with a photosensitive liquid that has the effect of removing the photoresist film in the exposed area through development processing. Normal “PS version”
It is called. There are two methods: one uses a printing plate (hereinafter referred to as a "PS plate") and the other uses a plate material (plano intaglio) coated with a photosensitive solution that prevents the photoresist film from being removed during development processing.
For printing plates, a so-called "burn-off" operation (described later) is required, while for flat intaglio plates, a so-called "rubber fixing" operation (described later) is required. Despite being a major factor hindering efficiency, the reality is that it has been completely overlooked.

First, let me explain in detail the "burn-off" process for PS plates; when the printing plate that has been exposed and burned in the printing process is developed, the photoresist film in the exposed areas (non-image areas of the film original) is removed. On the other hand,
The photoresist film in the areas that were not exposed (the image area of the film original and the non-original area) will remain, and if this continues, the non-original areas (portions marked ~ in Figure 5) will be left behind in the final product. Since solid printing results in image lines, cover the image areas, non-image areas, and registration marks that will become the product on the developed photosensitive plate with light-shielding paper, and then attach the photosensitive plate to the printing frame. Then, expose the non-document area to light.
The photoresist film in this area is removed by a so-called burn-off process, but this process requires changing the size of the light-shielding paper each time, pasting it on and peeling it off, which is complicated and time-consuming. In addition, there are many drawbacks such as the fact that glue scraps are easily produced and it is easy to get dirty. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that simplifying and increasing the efficiency of the burn-off work is the biggest factor in popularizing the PS version. , has been completely overlooked until now.

Next, to explain in detail the "rubber stopper" work in planar intaglio printing: When the printing plate that has been exposed and printed in the printing plate is developed, the photoresist film in the exposed areas (non-image areas of the film original) is removed. It remains as a cured film without being cured. Therefore, a lacquer and a tinctor for oil sensitization are applied to the unexposed image areas and register marks. continue,
A so-called rubber stopper is applied to the non-exposed areas of the document to repel lacquer and tinctor, which prevents lacquer and tinctor from adhering to the non-document area and ultimately resulting in a solid print. It is prevented.

Therefore, a film peeling process is applied to remove the photosensitive film from the non-image areas and non-document areas, so that only the image areas and register marks are printed in the end.
The above-mentioned rubber fastening work is complicated, so it is possible to simplify the work.
Although this is a problem that should be fundamentally improved from the standpoint of efficiency, it has been completely overlooked until now, just like the burnout in the PS version mentioned above.

Therefore, in order to solve the above-mentioned problems all at once, the applicants proposed a manuscript holder that was a radical reform of the conventional manuscript holder (Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No.
54-16207). That is, as shown in FIG. 1A, a light-shielding paper (R) is pasted on the non-original part of a film original (A) positioned on an original plate (E) made of a transparent glass plate, and this is placed on a photosensitive plate (C). Close contact,
We have fundamentally changed the conventional method of exposing light through the document placement plate. We have improved workability by eliminating the need to attach and peel off light-shielding paper, and at the same time, we have eliminated the blurring caused by pasting light-shielding paper. In order to completely eliminate the occurrence of legs, nothing is interposed between the film original and the photosensitive plate, and in this way, the film original and the photosensitive plate are brought into complete contact with each other, and light is shielded from the non-original portion of the original. The original is constructed so as to be shielded from light by four light-shielding curtains that are constructed to slide from the periphery of the original placing plate to the original placing plate, which is newly equipped with a material that is significantly thinner than the conventional one. I suggested a holder.

By the way, this manuscript holder (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 1983-
No. 16207) overcomes the deficiencies of the conventional methods described above, and it goes without saying that it has excellent practical effects, but the present inventors aim to provide an even more complete product. As a result of conducting as detailed a study as possible, we have come to the conclusion that this objective can be achieved by making improvements in the following aspects regarding this manuscript holder.

The points to be improved are as follows. In other words, the original document holder uses an ultra-thin plate, such as an ultra-thin metal plate, that has its own tension and rigidity as the material for the light-shielding curtain, and the ultra-thin plate is wound around a rotating shaft, and the rotating shaft is rotated back and forth. By doing so, the ultra-thin plate is rolled up and rewound, and in this way, the ultra-thin plate, that is, the light-shielding curtain, is moved forward and backward on the transparent, ultra-thin document placement plate, and the tip of the light-shielding curtain is positioned. Since the non-document area is shielded from light, there is no possibility that slight errors will occur in the position setting of the tip of the light shielding curtain due to slight bending of the light shielding curtain itself as it is wound up onto the rotating shaft and rewinded. Therefore, it is necessary to work with special consideration on this point, and it cannot be overlooked from the viewpoint of workability and accuracy of positioning of the light shielding curtain when operating the document holder. This has become a problem, and the purpose of the present invention is to provide a radical solution to this problem, and in addition, to save labor in the drive means for the light-shielding curtain.

Now, with a printing plate, the same image is printed on many sides on the same photosensitive plate based on one film original, and now, the case where the same image is printed on six sides is shown in Fig. 5. Based on this, we will explain the procedure for using the manuscript holder for a plate printing machine according to the present invention, and clarify the basis for eliminating the need for burn-off and rubber sealing operations in the conventional method.

In FIG. 5, 23 is a photosensitive plate, and the photosensitive plate 2
When printing images 3 on six sides, 1 to 6, the document holder according to the present invention, on which the film original on which images 3 have been photographed, is accurately positioned and attached, is placed on the photosensitive plate 23 at 1. Then move and fix each light-shielding curtain of the main document holder to the specified position according to the above procedure (the upper light-shielding curtain is line A, the left side is line B, the bottom side is line C, and the right side is line A). line) and fix it. Next, the light-shielding curtains wrapped around the right and lower core bodies are fully opened and exposed to light to perform printing. In this operation, the non-original portion shown in the figure, which required burnout or rubber sealing in the conventional method, is also exposed, so burning off or rubber sealing is no longer necessary.

Next, move and fix the document holder to a predetermined position on surface 2, and fix the left, upper, and right light-shielding curtains in the predetermined positions (however, the left and upper light-shielding curtains are printed with the surface 1 above). At the same time, it is fixed in a predetermined position, so all you have to do is return the right-hand light-shielding curtain to the predetermined position (initial setting position), and if you expose and print with only the lower light-shielding curtain fully open, you can see the image in the figure. There is no need to burn off the part and rubber stopper.

In the same manner, if you print side 3, you will get the image in the figure, if you burn side 4, you will get the image in the figure, if you burn side 5, you will get the image in the figure, and if you burn side 6, you will get the image in the figure. are respectively exposed. In other words, the non-original portions represented by ~ are exposed simultaneously by performing the printing work on surfaces 1 to 6 according to the above procedure, which was required in the conventional method.
The complicated and time-consuming work of burning off the PS plate or rubber fixing on the flat intaglio plate is completely unnecessary.

As described above, the present invention dramatically improves the printing efficiency, but furthermore, in the conventional method, a gap is created at the boundary between the film original A, the light-shielding paper B, and the photosensitive plate C. (See Figure 1 A), which had a major drawback in that the area became unclear in the product, but this method eliminates the need for pasting and peeling off light-shielding paper, which is the cause of this problem, and as shown in Figure 1. As is clear from B, since the light-shielding means (light-shielding curtain) is placed above the original plate E, it is possible to bring the original plate E into perfect contact with the film original A and the photosensitive plate C. Moreover, since the document placement plate is made of an ultra-thin transparent plate (a transparent hard glass plate is preferable),
This method also succeeded in almost completely eliminating the wraparound of the exposure light, completely eliminating the drawbacks of the above-mentioned conventional methods.

Moreover, the means for moving (opening and closing) the light-shielding curtain,
A reinforcing plate is fixed to the tip of the light-shielding curtain, and the end of the reinforcing plate is connected to a light-shielding curtain guide, and the light-shielding curtain is opened and closed by guiding the tip of the light-shielding curtain with the light-shielding curtain guide. Since the position of the tip of the light-shielding curtain is set, it is possible to do this extremely accurately, and the light-shielding curtain of the original holder proposed earlier by the present applicant (Japanese Patent Application No. 81376/1982) This invention completely overcomes the problems associated with setting the position of the tip, and is an invention with outstanding practical effects.

The present invention completely eliminates the anxiety factor from setting the position of the light-shielding curtain, and at the same time controls the driving source of the light-shielding curtain by a computer, thereby achieving the long-awaited goal of improving the light-shielding curtain in the process of creating a single printing plate. The system completely automates the basic operations of setting the light-shielding curtain, opening it fully, and returning it to the set position, and it can be said to be a revolution in the work involved in multi-sided printing.
