Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove water with high efficiency from waste oil by feeding a part of hot and compressed scavenging air from an outlet of a supercharger of an internal combustion engine to a header pipe at the bottom of a waste oil tank, and heating the waste oil in the waste oil tank. CONSTITUTION:A header pipe 5 disposed with plural numbers of nozzle 4 is provided to the bottom of a waste oil tank 1, and a part of hot and compressed scavenging air from an outlet 7A of a supercharger 7 of a main engine 6 is fed to the header pipe 5. Residual portion of the hot, compressed scavenging air from the supercharger 7 is fed to the main engine 6 after passing through an air cooler 8 and a scavenging manifold 9. When the scavenging air is blown into the waste oil tank 1, the waste oil in the tank 1 is heated by the heat contained in the scavenging air and the water in the waste oil is vaporized. Since the waste oil is stirred by the scavenging air, the waste oil is heated with high efficiency. The steam in the waste oil tank 1 is discharged to atmospheric air through an air discharging pipe 3.

Conventionally, for example, waste oil generated on board a ship is temporarily stored in a waste oil tank and then burned to be disposed of.However, since the waste oil contains a large amount of water, in order to remove this water, a method is used to remove this water. As shown in the figure, a steam pipe 2 is provided in a waste oil tank 1, and the waste oil is heated by heated steam to evaporate water in the waste oil.

However, the above-described water evaporation method has the following problems. That is, since steam is used for a long time, a large amount of energy is required, and the heating efficiency of the waste oil is poor because it is heated by natural convection.Furthermore, the flow rate of the steam in the air vent pipe 3 provided in the waste oil tank 1 is Since it is slow, the evaporated water condenses in the air vent pipe 3 and flows back into the waste oil tank 1.

As shown in FIG. 1, the present invention provides a header pipe 5 having a plurality of nozzles 4 at the bottom of a waste oil tank 1 in a ship, and a supercharger 7 of a main engine 6 is connected to the header pipe 5. It supplies a portion of the high-temperature, high-pressure scavenging air from the outlet lower A. The remaining high-temperature, high-pressure scavenging air from the supercharger 7 is supplied to the main engine 6 via an air cooler 8 and a scavenging manifold 9, as in the conventional case.

When the scavenging air is injected into the waste oil tank 1, the waste oil in the waste oil tank 1 is heated by the heat held by the scavenging air, and the water contained in the waste oil is vaporized. Since the waste oil is agitated by the scavenging air, the waste oil is efficiently heated. Steam in the waste oil tank 1 is released to the atmosphere from an air vent pipe 3 connected to the top of the waste oil tank 1.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the waste oil in the waste oil tank is heated while being stirred by the excess high temperature and high pressure scavenging air from the supercharger, so that energy can be saved and the waste oil can be heated efficiently. Moreover, since scavenging air is supplied into the waste oil tank, the flow rate of steam in the air vent pipe increases, and as a result, there is no risk of steam condensation in the air vent pipe, and various other useful effects are achieved. brought about.
