Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a paper from being torn, by a method wherein the right and left ends of a card holder are rounded with more than or equal to a specific dimension and disposed apart from the surface of a platen by a specific distance. CONSTITUTION:A card holder 14 is so constructed as that the right and left ends are rounded to 3mm or more and disposed apart from the surface of a platen by 3cm or more. The card holder 14 is fitted to a printing head 11, and an ink ribbon cartridge 15 is mounted thereon. The card holder 14 is rounded at the right and left ends, for example, with a radius 17 of 4mm, and the right and left ends are spaced from a platen by a distance 18 of 5mm. When a carriage conducts printing actually with the printing head 11 and the card holder 14 integrally formed, the printing head is moved transversely by a motor. In this manner, a gap between the platen and the card holder, which is large at the both ends and gradually becomes small, enables the head to move smoothly on the paper without breaking the paper even if the head conducts printing from outside a paper.

る構造で、用紙を押える用紙押え23と印刷時にヘッド
周辺の用紙を押えるためのカードホルダ24を有してい

れてしまうという欠点を有していた。
