Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a soil conditioner for grass which promotes growth of grass and is not irritant during use, by mixing iron steel slag with an acidifying material and a fertilizer. CONSTITUTION:This soil conditioner is prepared by mixing iron steel slag with an acidifying material and a fertilizer. Among various kinds of iron steel slag, steel-making slag is discarded in a large amount because it finds no wide application. The soil conditioner of grass is pref. steel-making slag, such as converter slag from the viewpoint of air permeability, water retentivity, draining property, and porosity. The grain size of the slag used in this soil conditioner is pref. 5mm or less, pref. 3mm or less. Examples of the acidifying material include mineral acids, such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and phosphoric acid, or ammonium salt or organic acid salt thereof. The amt. of incorporation of the acidifying material may by 0.1-5wt.% based on the iron steel slag in case of a liq. acidifying material and about 1-30wt.% based on the iron steel slag.

混入の惧れがあり、川砂は採掘規制が強化されて入手が
困難になっている。いずれにしても天然の砂は常時均一
かつ安定な物理性、化学性を求めるのは難しい。

本発明の芝草用土壌改良材に使用する鉄鋼スラグとして
は、製鉄所の製鋼用転炉から副生ずる転炉スラグや製網
用電気炉から副生ずる電炉スラグ等の製鋼スラグのほか
に、高炉から副生ずる高炉スラグがあげられる。これら
の鉄鋼スラグのうち、高炉スラグは高炉セメントやセメ
ント配合材、ロックウールの原料等に広く使用されてい
るが、製鋼スラグは用途があまりな(多量に廃棄されて
いる。本発明の芝草用土壌改良材としては、通気性、保
水性、排水性、多孔質の点から転炉スラグ等の製鋼スラ
グが好ましい。

ン酸等の鉱酸又はこれらのアンモニウム塩や、酢酸、ク
エン酸、酒石酸、フミン酸、ニトロフミン酸等の有機酸
、ゼオライト等の天然鉱物、ピートモス等の腐植土、硫
黄華等があげられる。これらの酸性化材は1種又は2種
以上を配合してもよい。酸性化材の配合量は酸性化材の
種類によって異なるが、鉱酸、有機酸等の液状酸性化材
では鉄鋼スラグに対し0.1〜5重量%、天然鉱物、腐
植土等の固体酸性化材は鉄鋼スラグに対し1〜30重量
%程度配合しても差支えない。

意の新芽100本を選び、長さを測定した。

用土壌改良材と置換するために使用してもよい。
