(Background) Today, the rubber fenders installed for ports and harbors have a cylindrical shape (Fig. 5a) and a rectangular cylindrical shape (Fig. 5b).
Various shapes are known, such as an inverted V-shaped cross section (c in the same figure) or an inverted Y-shaped cross section (d in the same figure). These rubber fenders are susceptible to damage such as tearing or abrasion on the impact-receiving surface due to rubbing against the side of a ship berthing. (Problems with the prior art) Therefore, in order to protect the fender from such damage, the impact-receiving surface is made of a material with high abrasion resistance or low friction such as hard rubber or polyamide, polyethylene, or polytetrafluoroethylene. Techniques for adding selected slipping materials have been proposed in Utility Model Publication No. 12979/1979 and others. However, this measure is limited by the type of fender material to which it is applied, and requires time and effort to repair worn sliding materials. On the other hand, the rubber elastic material that makes up the fender contains carbon black as a reinforcing filler and anti-aging agents, so these additives can cause unsightly scratches on the hull of a ship that has been scratched. This problem becomes a serious problem in the case of ships such as yachts and pleasure boats that are painted white or light colors for aesthetic reasons. The present applicant has long focused on the problem of preventing contamination by fenders, and has previously developed the invention of Utility Model Publication No. 56-3379 to improve the impact-receiving surface of rubber fenders, especially those that do not contain carbon black or We proposed a technology that consists of a rubber material mixed with a non-staining anti-aging agent. However, the impact-receiving surface of this proposed fender does not contain a reinforcing agent, so it is not as strong as existing ones, and its production itself is cumbersome and expensive.

(Summary) In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the rubber fender according to the present invention has a tufted pile fabric with filament or slit yarn of synthetic fiber material as the pile yarn on the impact receiving surface of the rubber fender. It is characterized by having layers. Below, we will discuss the main points related to the invention. (Rubber fender) The structure of the rubber fender itself in the present invention may be any of the known structures illustrated in FIG. 5 above. Furthermore, a so-called "π-shaped fender" in which a pair of inclined I-shaped main bodies are connected by a common impact receiving surface may also be considered. (Tufted pile fabric) A fabric in which synthetic fiber material filaments or slit yarns are piled in tufts, that is, tufted pile fabric, is a type of fabric that has an impact-receiving surface of the rubber fender material (those with an impact-receiving plate). the impact-receiving plate surface) and during vulcanization,
Or they are then integrated via an adhesive layer. This pile fabric is made from strong synthetic fiber materials such as polyamide and polyester on strong synthetic fiber fabrics such as polyamide woven fabric, and is processed into tufts by piling filament or slit yarn, then cutting the ring part. (This processing method itself is similar to the method used to produce carpets and artificial lawns.)

The pile yarns (tufted filaments or slit yarns) of the pile fabric layer present on the impact-receiving surface of the fender (including the impact-receiving plate surface) are interposed between the ship's gunwale and the impact-receiving surface of the fender. Due to its good sliding action, it protects its own impact surface from damage, while also effectively preventing peeling, contamination, and other damage to the coating layer of ships berthed.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to Examples, but the examples are of course for illustrative purposes and are not intended to limit the idea of the invention. Example 1 Figure 1 shows the present invention in patent No. 1 held by the applicant.
A perspective view showing an example applied to an oblong hollow rubber fender with an inverted V-shaped cross section based on No. 1065186, and FIG. 2 is a partially enlarged sectional view of the pile fabric layer of the fender shown in FIG. 1. . The fender 1 of this example includes a pile fabric layer 4 on the impact receiving surface 3 of the fender main body 2. As shown in Fig. 2, this layer 4 is made by piecing polyamide slit yarn 4b into tufts on a polyamide yarn fabric 4a, and after impregnating the fabric 4a with rubber latex, vulcanized It is attached onto the impact receiving surface 3 of the main body 2 and then integrated with the impact receiving surface 3 by applying pressure while heating. Embodiment 2 FIG. 3 is a perspective view of another embodiment of the invention. In this example, a so-called "round fender" (cylindrical fender) is used as the fender body 2, and the pile fabric layer 4 is integrated with the entire circumferential surface of the fender body 2. Embodiment 3 FIG. 4 is a side view showing an example in which the present invention is applied to a π-type fender according to Utility Model Registration No. 1226838 owned by the present applicant. In the fender 1 of this example, the impact receiving surface 5a of the impact receiving plate 5 connecting the tips of the pair of plate-shaped fender main bodies 2, 2 whose cross section is approximately in the shape of an inclined I-shape, is A similar pile fabric layer 4 is integrated. According to this example, an impact receiving surface with a much longer service life than conventional sliding materials can be obtained.
