Conventionally, in order to improve the weather resistance of transparent coatings, resins with good weather resistance, such as acrylic resins, unsaturated polyester resins, and polyurethane resins, have been used in the resin component of paint vehicles, and 2-( 2'-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)
-benzotriazole, 2-hydroxy-4-
Previously, UV absorbers such as methoxybenzophenone and 2,2',4,4'-tetrahydroxybenzophenone were mixed into the coating, but the former increased production costs and depended on the application. In the latter case, there are disadvantages such as insufficient weather resistance, and in the latter case, the improvement in weather resistance is insufficient,
Polyurethane resin paints and unsaturated polyester resin paints, which are often used for wood coating because of their good adhesion to wood, have disadvantages such as reduced transparency of the paint film, and are reactive two-component paints. However, the UV absorbers involved in the reaction caused problems such as not improving the weather resistance of the resulting coating film, deteriorating the physical properties of the coating film, and worsening transparency.

This invention was made in view of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to provide weather-resistant coated wood with sufficiently improved weather resistance, no reduction in the transparency of the coating film, and no deterioration of the coating properties. This method is characterized by interposing an extremely thin aluminum film between a transparent paint film on wood to reflect near-infrared ultraviolet rays that reduce the weather resistance of the paint film.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail with reference to the drawings. Figure 1 shows the structure of an example of weather-resistant coated wood obtained by this invention, and the reference numeral 1 in the figure is the base material, which is made of general wood materials such as plywood and laminated solid wood. The surface has been prepared by polishing, sealing, and wash coating.

The surface of this wood 1 is coated with an arbitrarily colored paint such as polyurethane resin or unsaturated polyester resin paint to a thickness of 300 to 500 μm using a roll coater, spray, brush, etc. to form an undercoat. 2 is formed.

Next, an ultra-thin aluminum film 3 is formed on the surface of this undercoat film 2 by a vacuum evaporation method, a sputtering method, a CVD method (chemical vapor deposition method), or the like. The thickness of the aluminum film 3 is 0.1 to 10 μm, preferably 0.2 to 0.5 μm.
If it is less than 0.1 μm, there is no effect of improving weather resistance, and if it exceeds 10 μm, the transparency of the coating film may deteriorate. This ultra-thin aluminum film 3 reflects most of the ultraviolet rays that degrade the weather resistance of the coating film, thereby significantly improving the weather resistance.

Next, an undercoat film 4 for protecting the extremely thin aluminum film 3 is formed on the extremely thin aluminum film 3. This undercoat film 4 is made by applying transparent polyurethane resin, polyester resin paint, etc. to a thickness of 50 to 100 μm using a spray roll coater, brush coating, etc., and prevents oxidation deterioration and abrasion of the ultra-thin aluminum film 3. The role is to prevent such things. Note that the undercoat film 2 and the top coat film 4 may be of the same type or different types. In some cases, 1, 3, 5-Tris (4-tert

An antioxidant such as 4,6-(1H,3H,5H)-trione may be included to impart antioxidant properties. Furthermore, although the above explanation has been made regarding wood coatings, the present invention is not limited to this, and can be applied to various coatings that require weather resistance.

In the weather-resistant coated wood of the present invention constructed as described above, the ultra-thin aluminum film 3 reflects most of the ultraviolet rays that reduce the weather resistance of the coating film and radiates it out of the coating film, so that it can be used as The weather resistance is significantly improved compared to a coating film containing an absorbent in the vehicle, and since visible light passes through the ultra-thin aluminum film 3, transparency is maintained.

Example: After performing normal ground preparation on a teak board, polyurethane resin paint was applied to a thickness of 400 μm.
An undercoat film was formed. Next, an ultra-thin aluminum film with a thickness of 0.3 μm is formed using a vacuum evaporation method, and a transparent polyurethane resin paint is applied on top of this to a thickness of 0.3 μm.
It was applied to a thickness of 80 μm to form a topcoat film. The thus obtained painted teak board was subjected to a weather resistance test using a sunshine weatherometer. The color difference (ΔE) of the painted teak board after the accelerated weathering test was measured. The results are shown in FIG. In FIG. 2, line I shows the change in color difference (ΔE) with respect to irradiation time for the painted wood of this example, and the line shows the change in color difference (ΔE) for the painted wood without the ultra-thin aluminum film.

As explained above, the weather-resistant coated wood of this invention has an ultra-thin aluminum film interposed between the wood coating, so the ultra-thin aluminum film reflects ultraviolet rays and transmits visible light. This improves weather resistance and maintains transparency. Additionally, since the ultra-thin aluminum film is protected by a top coat, its weather resistance lasts for a long time. Furthermore, there are no disadvantages such as deterioration of physical properties of the paint film, changes in the properties of the paint, or deterioration of the transparency of the paint film that were seen with conventional paint vehicles with UV absorbers added, and it is suitable for use with not only wood but also other base materials. It is extremely useful and can also be applied to materials.
