[従来の技術]
今日、一般に広く使われているファンにおいては、第1
図のように外壁を形成するダクトは静止しており、ダク
トの外壁とファン動翼先端との間に隙間を有する。この
ため、ファン動翼の後方で上昇した静圧によって前方へ
逆流が生じ、ファン性能を著しく害している。第2図に
典型的な測定例を示すが、ファン先端から内径側への広

3図のごとく、外壁ダクトを動翼とともに回転させれば
内径側と同じような条件が成立する。ダクトが長過ぎた
り、静翼を有するときは、第4図のようにダクトの一部
