Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve heat resistant and decorative properties of a decorative body made of foaming resin by providing cavities between the decorative body fixed to the outer surface of a wheel body and a portion through which a disk composing the wheel body is installed on an axle. CONSTITUTION:An automobile wheel 5 is composed of a wheel body 3 in which a rim 1 and a disk 2 are connected, and a foaming decorative body 4 fixed to the outer surface of the wheel body 3. Cavities 7 are provided between the foaming decorative body 4 and an installing face of a disk 2 on an axle subjected to high temperature due to heat from a break unit. The cavities prevent the transmission of heat generated at the installing face of the disk 2 on the axle to the decorative body 4. It is therefore possible to prevent deformation, separation or the like of the decorative body 4 caused by heat, and to improve the decorativeness of the wheel with the decorative body 4 covering the whole surface of the disk 2.

Conventionally, so-called design wheels have been proposed for automobile wheels, especially fR wheels, in which foamed urethane is directly molded and fixed on the outer surface of the wheel in order to achieve high strength, low cost, and an aesthetically pleasing decorative appearance. However, due to the structure of a car, a brake device is always located inside the car wheel, and the heat generated by the brake device is easily transferred to the wheel, so the wheel often becomes extremely hot while driving. In particular, the surface where the disc is attached to the axle reaches a temperature of about 200 degrees Celsius due to the direct transmission of heat generated by the brake system, causing the urethane fixed to this area to soften or thermally decompose, causing the urethane foam to fade, deform, and There was a problem that cracking, peeling, etc. occurred.

Therefore, as a heat-resistant measure, a retainer is inserted inside the urethane foam decoration on the front side of the disk mounting surface to prevent the urethane foam from directly adhering to the front surface of the disk mounting surface (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 62-71703) or the disk A method in which urethane foam is fixed only on the radially outer side of the mounting surface and a hub cap is attached to the center part (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 62-944013 has been proposed).

However, in the above method of inserting a retainer,
There is a problem that not only does the weight of the wheel increase, but also that the heat is easily transmitted through the retainer and reaches the urethane foam, so that the influence of heat on the urethane foam cannot be completely prevented. In addition, in the method of fixing foamed urethane only on the outside of the mounting surface, the three-dimensional outline of the foamed urethane is limited only to the outside of the disc hat part, so the decorativeness is greatly impaired, and the effect of covering with foamed urethane is reduced. The problem is that it cannot be achieved. Further, in any of the above methods, the number of parts increases, the structure becomes complicated, and the manufacturing method is also complicated, resulting in poor productivity and high production costs.

In addition, the wheel body, which consists of a rim and a disc, is divided into an upper mold and a lower mold! i A step of placing a resin decoration in a mold, a step of injecting foamed resin into the mold from a resin injection port, and a step of curing the foamed resin and fixing the foamed resin decoration to the surface of the wheel body. A method for manufacturing an automobile wheel comprising the steps of taking out the wheel from the mold in a state in which the wheel is placed in the mold, the wheel body being placed horizontally in the mold with the front side of the mounting surface of the disc facing downward, and the wheel being placed in the lower mold. By tightly supporting the nut seat of the disc with the provided nut seat support part and injecting foamed resin from the resin injection port provided at the center of the upper mold or the center of the lower mold, the disc inside the foamed resin decorative body is heated. The present invention provides a method for manufacturing an automobile wheel, characterized in that a cavity is formed in the front side portion of the mounting surface.

(Function) Since the automobile wheel of the present invention has the above-described structure, the foamed resin decorative body is fixed only to a relatively low-temperature part of the wheel body, and the mounting surface of the disc to the axle, which is the highest temperature, is Since a cavity is formed on the front side without using a retainer that easily conducts heat, the heat generated on the mounting surface of the disc to the axle is not transmitted to the foam resin decoration, and the foam resin deteriorates due to heat. , no deformation, cracking, or peeling occurs.

Further, in the method of manufacturing the above-mentioned automobile wheel,
The wheel body is placed horizontally in the mold with the front side of the disc mounting surface facing downward, and the nut seat part of the disc is closely supported by the nut seat support part provided in the lower mold, thereby allowing air to flow from the front side of the disc mounting surface part to the back side. to cut off the flow of water. Furthermore, by injecting foamed resin from the resin injection port provided in the center of the mold, the foamed resin spreads radially from the injection port to fill the cavity surrounded by the wheel body and the lower mold, and the disc hat On the outside of the cavity, the air inside the cavity is forced out from the air pen provided in the well part of the rim or the outer periphery flange part of the disc, and the cavity is filled with foamed resin without generating air bubbles. However, since the outflow of air is blocked at the disk mounting surface, the air is compressed by the foam resin injection pressure and about half is filled with foam resin, but the foam resin is not fixed on the front side of the mounting surface, leaving a cavity. It is something that is formed.

As shown in FIG. 4(A), the wheel body 4 configured as described above is assembled into a foamed resin decoration mold 17 (hereinafter simply referred to as mold) consisting of an upper mold 15 and a lower mold 16 of an injection molding machine. Inside, the disk 20 is horizontally arranged with the front side of the mounting surface 6 to the axle facing downward. At this time, each nut seat 18 of the disk 2 is tightly supported by a nut seat support portion 19 provided on the lower die 16 to prevent air from leaking. Since the nut seat support portion 19 also forms a cavity through which a hub nut is passed when installing a completed automobile wheel, it is designed to have a diameter that allows at least a wrench to be inserted therein.

Here, air pen 1 is attached to the joint between rim 1 and disc 2.
4 is formed, the air in the cavity is pushed out by the resin injection pressure as the foamed resin fills, and the foamed resin completely fills the disc surface of the wheel body 3 and the bead seat of the rim without air bubbles. It is fixed integrally to the back of the part. However, in the inner part of the disk 2 than the hat part 8, the nut seat 18 is sealed by the nut seat support part 19, so there is no joint where air leaks, and the air is compressed by the resin injection pressure, and about half of the air is compressed by the resin injection pressure. As a result, the foamed resin is not fixed to the front side of the mounting surface 6 of the disk 2 to the axle, and a cavity 7 is formed.

In the automobile wheel of the present invention, the decorative body made of foamed resin is fixed to the wheel by forming a cavity around the entire surface of the mounting surface of the 111 m disk to the axle. The heat generated during the process is not transmitted to the foam resin decoration, which prevents the foam resin decoration from fading, deforming, cracking, peeling, etc. due to heat. Also, almost the entire disk surface can be covered with the foam resin decoration. Therefore, the decorativeness is not reduced, and the decorativeness can be improved by mixing pigments with the resin and easily applying any color to the surface of the decorative body before coating or spraying.
