Abstract

PURPOSE: To drive a staple on a central folding line from outside of a document by folding it back in the same direction from a proper place by extending a lower arm whose one end is connected to a housing case of the staple, in the lengthwise direction of a slit, and arranging a staple receiving groove on an upper surface of a folding-back part coincident with a pushing-out position of the staple. CONSTITUTION: A lower arm 5 whose one end is connected to a housing case 3 of a staple 4 is extended in the lengthwise direction of a slit, and is formed as an extending part 12. This extending part 12 is folded back in the same direction from a proper place, and a staple receiving groove 7 is arranged on an upper surface of a folding-back part 11 coincident with a pushing-out position of the staple 4. A center folded document 14 is placed in this staple receiving groove 7 part in a condition where its valley part turns to the upper surface side of this folding-back part 11, and a central folding line 15 of this document 14 is made to naturally coincide with the staple receiving groove 7. Next, the staple 4 in the housing case 3 is pushed out toward the staple receiving groove 7, and the staple 4 is driven on the central folding line 15 from outside of the center folded document 14. Therefore, hitching of a thing and wounding of a hand by the pointed tip of the staple 4, can be prevented from occurring.

(Prior art) A stapler that is designed to bind a large number of documents, etc., presses in a staple from one side of the document, and bends the staple protruding from the other side of the document in a staple receiving groove to staple the document. The press-fitting point of the staple and the needle receiving groove must match exactly, and therefore the driving part of the staple and the needle receiving groove are inseparable.

When saddle-stitching wide documents with a stapler of this kind of structure, it is necessary to insert one side of the document deeply into the stapler so that the driving part of the staple and the staple receiving groove reach the center fold line of the document. However, many staplers have been developed for the purpose of saddle stitching.

For example, the length of the main body of a stapler may be lengthened, the main body may be equipped with a telescoping mechanism to extend it when performing saddle stitching, or the stapler driving section may be rotated to adjust the axis of the main body and the direction of needle feeding. Some were modified, others had the main body mounted on a wide base plate.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, in this conventional method, for example, the length of the main body is made longer from the beginning, the main body is provided with a telescoping mechanism and is used to extend when performing saddle stitching, and the driving part of the staple If the needle feed direction is changed by rotating the main body, and the direction of the stapler and the axis of the main body remains unchanged, the insertion length of the document is limited, and By increasing the distance to the pivot, the strength in the lateral direction was weakened, and thick documents, etc., could sometimes slide sideways and become bent when driven. In addition, there were other problems such as when the device was held in hand, the user's hand became unstable and the document could not be inserted deeply. There is a good chance that the stitching needle will strike the document from the inside to the outside, and this poses problems such as objects being caught in the bent portion of the needle or injury to the user.

Furthermore, if the main body is mounted on a wide plywood board, it is very inconvenient to move and use it, and there are also problems in that it requires a large storage space when not in use.

Also, in any case, the needle receiving groove is formed wide,
When a document is spread out and the center fold line portion is placed on top of this, it tends to shift easily, and it is impossible to check whether the center fold line matches the needle receiving groove or not, making it difficult to position the document.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention has been made to solve the problems of the conventional art, and is intended to spread out wide documents such as newspapers. There is no need to do so; simply place the center fold line of the document in the needle guide groove while holding the document folded in half or in four from the center fold line, and the center fold line will align with the needle guide groove and shift. To provide a stapler which is simple in structure, has a sufficient strength of a staple receiving groove part, and can drive staples accurately and without fail from the outside to the inside of a document.

The gist is as follows: 1) In a hand-held stapler, one end of a storage case with a slit for pushing out the staples at the tip of the bottom surface and one end of the lower arm disposed below the storage case are moved vertically. The lower arm is rotatably supported, extends in the longitudinal direction of the slit, and is folded back from an appropriate point in the same direction, and a needle receiving groove is provided on the upper surface of the folded part that corresponds to the pushing position of the staple, and A stapler characterized by a thinner horizontal thickness of the folded part - 2) In a hand-held stapler, one end of the storage case is provided with a slit for pushing out the staples at the tip of the lower surface; One end of the lower arm disposed below the case is pivotally supported so that it can move up and down, and the lower arm extends in the longitudinal direction of the slit and is folded back in the same direction from an appropriate point to match the position at which the staple is pushed out. A needle receiving groove is provided on the upper surface of the folded part, the width of the folded part is narrowed, and one end of the long pace is provided with a lower arm rotatable in the same direction as the longitudinal direction of the slit in a horizontal plane. The stapler is characterized in that a lever for pressing an upper arm to which a needle ejecting piece is fixed is pivotally supported on the other end of the base so as to be movable up and down.

(Function) The stapler of the present invention has a lower arm connected at one end to a storage case for staples, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the slit, and is folded back in the same direction from an appropriate point, so that the folded part coincides with the position at which the staples are pushed out. A needle receiving groove is provided on the top surface.

Therefore, in this lower arm, a long approximately U-shaped bent part is formed just before the needle receiving groove, and the width of the folded part where the needle receiving groove is provided is also narrow, so that the folded part has a slit. The storage case is formed to be long in the longitudinal direction and thin in the longitudinal direction of the storage case.

When setting a folded document in this needle receiving groove, the needle receiving groove is located on the upper surface of the folded part of the elongated lower arm.
Naturally, the trough of the document will be inserted into the folded portion of the lower arm, and the staple will be driven from the outside of the document toward the inside. Further, since the upper surface of the folded portion is long and narrow, the deepest part of the folded portion of the document, that is, the folded line portion naturally coincides with the needle receiving groove.

This stapler can be supported with one hand on the lower and upper arms, so it can be used hand-held, and one side of a wide document fits into the long folded groove, so it does not get in the way of operation. Further, it can be used for both saddle stitching and side stitching without requiring any switching operation.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, the lower arm, which has one end connected to the storage case for the staples, extends in the longitudinal direction of the slit, and is folded back in the same direction from an appropriate point, so that the staples can be pushed out to the desired position. Since we have provided a needle catch groove on the top surface of the folded part that corresponds to the folded part, a half-folded document can be placed in the needle catch groove of the folded part of the lower arm. Since the document is placed on the needle receiving groove side, and all the fold lines are aligned with the needle receiving groove, the binding staple can be driven from the outside of the document onto the fold line.

In addition, the documents and the hands holding the documents do not get in the way of operations, and it is possible to quickly and accurately bind the documents folded in half from the center fold line and the stapler in hand. For wide documents like this, which are folded in four, there is no need to spread them out on the workbench again in order to punch them onto the center fold line, which is the binding needle.
Is it easy and accurate when folded and held in hand? This book can be bound. Another advantage is that saddle stitching and side stitching can be freely performed without switching operations.
