Abstract

PURPOSE:To grind a workpiece in stable manners even during grinding by installing a receiving plate having the second supporting surface for supporting the workpiece in inclination so that the ground surface at the top edge part of the workpiece which is formed in the initial period of grinding on the inlet side of an abrasive wheel contacts the first supporting surface of the receiving plate over the grinding length. CONSTITUTION:The interval between an abrasive wheel 1 and an adjusting wheel 2 is set a little larger on the inlet side than on the outlet side, in consideration of the grinding quantity of a workpiece W to be ground and the length of the workpiece, and the workpiece W is sent onto a guide plate 6 on the inlet side, and when the top edge part of the workpiece W is introduced into between the both grindstones, a ground surface Wa having a small taper is formed on the top edge part. In this case, the workpiece W is supported onto the second supporting surface 4a of a receiving plate 4 which is set at a proper tilt angle (alpha). Therefore, the ground surface Wa is exactly attached onto the first supporting surface 3a of the receiving plate 3, and the grinding resistance which is received during grinding is supported in stable manners over the grinding length L by the supporting surface 3a, and the workpiece W is grinding-worked with high precision without generating chattering, and discharged from an outlet side guide plate 7.

A centerless grinder that grinds the cylindrical surface of a cylindrical workpiece by feeding it in the axial direction, that is, through-feed grinding, grinds the cylindrical surface of the workpiece between the support surface that supports the workpiece in front of the grinding wheel, and the grinding wheel/adjustment wheel. The support surface that supports the object is in a straight line, and in many cases, an integrated support is provided that has a straight support surface including the exit side, and through-feed grinding is performed while supporting the workpiece on this support surface. was going on. FIG. 5 shows the initial state of grinding at the inlet side of the conventional grinding wheel, in which the receiving plate 20 supporting the workpiece W
The support surface 203a of No. 3 is connected to the grinding wheel from the front of the grinding wheel entrance.
It is in a straight line across the adjustment wheels.

For average workpieces with a small amount of grinding allowance, conventional grinding methods do not pose much of a problem, but for long workpieces with a large amount of grinding allowance, problems arise in terms of grinding accuracy. In other words, as shown in Fig. 5, when the tip of the workpiece is fed between the grinding wheel and the adjustment wheel in the initial stage of grinding, the grinding surface w
is formed in a slightly tapered shape, and the supporting surface 20 of the receiving plate 203
3a, a gap is created between the two. During grinding, the workpiece W1 is rotated while being subjected to grinding resistance at the tip, but at this time, the grinding surface wb is not supported by the support surface 203a, so the workpiece WI becomes unstable and causes uneven grinding motion. Grinding will be performed while causing this. Even if vibration generation in the machine body and foundation system is suppressed, if the workpiece itself causes unstable grinding motion, chattering marks will occur and shape and dimension accuracy will deteriorate. Particularly in the case of long workpieces, it has been difficult to improve accuracy in terms of cylindricity, straightness, etc. Furthermore, chatter marks that occur during the initial stage of grinding may be caused by fairly deep irregularities on the grinding surface.

The present invention provides a centerless grinding machine that grinds the cylindrical surface of a workpiece using the through-feed grinding method. The workpiece is ground by feeding it between the grinding wheel and the adjustment wheel while supporting the workpiece at an angle so that it comes into contact with the support surface of the receiving plate.

1 is a grinding wheel of a centerless grinder, 2 is an adjustment wheel, 3 is a receiving plate having a first support surface 3a, 4 is a receiving plate having a second supporting surface 4a, and 5 is a receiving plate 3 and a receiving plate 4. It is a work rest that supports. 6 and 7 are guide plates on the inlet side and the outlet side, respectively, and the distance between the guide F plates and both grinding wheels are adjusted so that the workpiece W is stably fed from the inlet side to the outlet side of the grinding wheel. The mutual positions of the two are well adjusted. The receiving plate 4 is supported at its bottom by adjustment bolts 8, and is also supported by a mounting plate 9 attached to the receiving plate 3. The mounting plate 9 has a receiving plate 4.
Two mounting holes are provided on the left and right for mounting, and the mounting hole lO on the left in the figure is elongated in the angle adjustment direction. When adjusting the inclination angle α of the support surface 4a of the receiving plate 4, use the bolt l.
Loosen l, rotate the adjustment bolt 8, and tighten the bolt 11 after adjustment. The setting of the inclination angle α can be roughly calculated and guided based on the grinding allowance of the workpiece to be ground, the length of the workpiece, etc., but it is actually set while conducting several grinding tests. In the drawings of the embodiment, the inclination angle α is illustrated as large, but in reality it is a very small angle of 1 degree or less. The distance between the grinding wheel 1 and the adjusting wheel 2 is set in advance so that the inlet side is slightly larger than the outlet side, taking into consideration the grinding allowance of the workpiece W to be ground, the length of the workpiece, etc. When the workpiece W is fed into the guide plates 6, 6 on the entrance side and the tip of the workpiece W is fed between both grinding wheels, a micro-tapered grinding surface Wa is formed at the tip.
is formed. Receiving plate 4 set at an appropriate inclination angle α
Since the workpiece W is supported on the support surface 4a of the support plate 3, the grinding surface Wa is in perfect contact with the support surface 3a of the receiving plate 3, and the grinding resistance received during grinding is absorbed by the support surface 3a over the grinding length. Be able to support it. Therefore, during grinding, the workpiece W is fed into both grinding wheels in a stable state while being tilted and supported, without any complicated movement such as a grinding motion in which the rear part of the workpiece W is swung around. Guide plate 7・

3 and 4 show other embodiments. Figure 3 shows the case where the inclination angle α is set constant, and the receiving plate 104 having the second supporting surface 104a is separate from the receiving plate 103 having the first supporting surface 103a as shown in the figure. However, it may be an integral type, in which the second support surface 104a supports the workpiece W, and the first support surface 103a supports the grinding surface Wa. In FIG. 4, the workpiece W is supported on the cylindrical surfaces of the pair of rolls 204 of the roll feeder 205, and the workpiece W is supported so that the ground surface Wa is in contact with the support surface 203a of the receiving plate 203.

Note that the device that feeds the workpiece between both grinding wheels while supporting the workpiece at an appropriate inclination angle such that the grinding surface of the tip is supported by the support surface of the receiving plate is not limited to the above embodiment. , for example, an inclined V-shaped chute.
