[Detailed description of the invention] (Industrial application field) This invention is applicable to the maintenance and operation of delicate, high-quality machines that require clean, dry, room-temperature air at all times, as well as air used in precision machinery factories. The present invention relates to a filter that is a combination of a filter and a dehumidifying device, and more specifically, it relates to a compact filter that is a combination of a pleated paper element and a dehumidifying agent silica gel, and is mainly applied to a fixed magnetic disk device of a computer. .

In addition, as a means of dehumidification, basically the method of removing moisture from the air using a moisture absorbent is common.Recently, silica gel molded into a honeycomb shape and similar fibers are used as a moisture absorbent. Laminated ones are known.

It is easy to imagine that by using the above pleated paper and honeycomb-shaped silica gel in combination, a relatively small combination filter with low ventilation resistance can be obtained.

In the case of paper filters, increasing the number of pleats is more effective in increasing the overarea within a limited size range. Since there is a risk that the facing faces of the folds may come into contact with each other and cancel out the excess area, careful attention is required to make the pitch of the peaks uniform, which is inefficient in terms of manufacturing.
Even if the product is manufactured in this way, when the humidity of the air exceeds approximately 60%, the paper surface will sag due to expansion due to moisture absorption, and when the undulations of the mountain lines become noticeable, the folded surfaces of the paper will come into contact with each other in many places, resulting in an excess area. Therefore, there is a limit to increasing the number of peaks.

In addition, as a means to prevent the ridges from undulating due to moisture absorption, there are measures such as providing a thin strip-shaped holding piece that adheres to each ridge in a direction perpendicular to the ridges, and installing spacers in each fold to maintain the distance between the ridges. Various measures have been taken to increase the number of threads, but the installation of spacers leads to an increase in ventilation resistance.
In addition, in both cases, it takes a lot of effort and costs to maintain a uniform spacing between the ridges when the number of ridges is increased, and to prevent problems caused by paper deformation due to moisture absorption and expansion, there is a simple and effective method. The reality is that there is no means.

The present invention is designed to reduce the size of a paper filter when it is folded in combination with silica gel formed into a honeycomb shape. It is possible to maximize the number of ridges within the range of thickness, and even when adhesively assembling the end plate during manufacturing, by adhering with silica gel attached, the ridge spacing is reliably uniform. The purpose of this invention is to provide an extremely effective combination filter in which the silica gel absorbs moisture and protects the paper, eliminating any damage to paper caused by moisture.

A groove 3 for maintaining the pitch of the overfilter 1 which is pleated in a jagged shape is provided on the end face of the rectangular shaped honeycomb-shaped silica gel 2 having a mesh-like cross section on the downstream side in the air flow direction, and the groove 3 is symmetrical to this. The honeycomb-shaped silica gel 4, which is also provided with grooves 5 for maintaining the pitch between the paper filters 1, is glued and sandwiched on both sides of the three bodies against the air flow by synthetic resin side walls 6, and these upper and lower sides are It is covered and bonded with a flanged end plate 7 made of synthetic resin.

When air flows in the direction of the arrow or in the opposite direction, if the air contains moisture or dust, it is first dehumidified by silica gel 2 or 4, and then filtered by paper filter 1 to trap dust. By doing so, there is no damage caused by moisture to the paper, and the air flowing out is clean and free of moisture.

1. At the manufacturing stage, by ensuring that the spacing between the paper ridges is equalized, it is possible to narrow the ridge spacing and increase the excess area compared to conventional paper for a limited size, and there is no damage caused by moisture. The rectifying action of the honeycomb-shaped silica gel also assists, resulting in a filter with less airflow resistance and a long service life without clogging.

5. If the airflow is in a fixed direction, a simple type with silica gel placed only on the upstream side as shown in Figure 3 may be used, but when using an upstream/downstream clamp type and in an environment with relatively little dust, By changing the mounting direction, the life of the silica gel can be extended.

For square air filters using pleated filter paper,
In a combination filter that combines moisture-absorbing material elements, the square shape has the same width as the filter paper and is large enough to cover all the tops of the pleats, and the thickness is approximately 1/2 of the height of the pleats, allowing ventilation in the thickness direction. On one side of the silica gel formed into a honeycomb shape,
Create grooves that match the pleats and fit them on both sides of the upstream and downstream sides of the filter paper, or on either side of the filter paper. After gluing both folded ends of the filter paper to both side walls with silica gel, both width ends of the filter paper are attached to both sides of the filter paper. A combination filter characterized by a folded filter paper that is covered with square end plates each having a brim and glued together, and a molded honeycomb-shaped silica gel that serves to maintain pleat spacing and absorb moisture is fitted and integrated into the folded filter paper.
