[Industrial Field of Application] The present invention relates to an anti-algae coating that is applied to the surface of a structure in water to prevent algae from growing on the surface. In general, all water bodies contain microscopic organisms, and the microscopic algae that are part of this group are extremely numerous in number and variety. For this reason, algae such as green grass and dry grass grow on the surfaces of underwater structures such as treatment tanks for industrial sewage and general domestic wastewater, and if left untreated, the treatment efficiency of these facilities will decrease. Problems such as this may occur. Conventionally, the method used to prevent this problem was to periodically clean the area to remove these algae.
There are problems such as time and cost, and it has been desired to develop a method that can solve these problems. Recently, in response to such a demand, an anti-algae coating containing an organic metal compound such as organotin or cuprous oxide as an active ingredient is applied to the surface of structures in water where algae grow. A method has been proposed to prevent the growth of algae. However, algae-proofing paints containing organometallic compounds as active ingredients may react with other paint components, such as rosin, during paint storage and reduce their algae-proofing performance. Even after treatment, algae-preventing paints containing cuprous oxide as an active ingredient are susceptible to suboxidation due to hydrogen sulfide generated in water such as sewage and wastewater. This method had drawbacks such as a decrease in efficacy due to discoloration and deterioration of the copper. In view of the above circumstances, the present inventor has conducted extensive research and has completed the present invention by discovering an anti-algae coating that is highly safe against toxicity and exhibits little reduction in anti-algae efficacy. That is, the present invention is based on the general formula (However, in the formula, R 1 is H-, R 2 is

Examples include 3-P-tolylurea. In the present invention, in addition to the above-mentioned urea compounds, one or more of conventionally known active ingredients such as organic sulfur compounds such as zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate, or chlorinated compounds may be used in combination as active ingredients. . Further, the content of the urea compound in the present invention is not particularly limited, but is approximately 5% to 5% in the solid content of the paint.
Preferably, the content is 50%. In addition to the above-mentioned active ingredients, the antialgal coating of the present invention contains oil varnish, which is commonly used as a coating film forming material, vehicle components such as natural or synthetic resins and synthetic rubber, various pigments such as extender pigments and coloring pigments, and various solvents. and various additives, etc., and is prepared by uniformly mixing and dispersing these in a dispersing machine such as a ball mill and sand mill according to the conventional method for manufacturing paints. The algae-proofing paint of the present invention thus prepared is applied according to the purpose by a conventional coating method such as brush coating, roll coating or spraying. The present invention will be explained below with reference to Examples and Comparative Examples. Examples 1 to 2 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3 The compositions shown in Table 1 were uniformly mixed and dispersed in a ball mill to prepare algae-proofing paints for each example, and these were placed on an 8 x 20 cm vinyl chloride plate. Film thickness by brushing
It was painted to have a thickness of 150μ. The vinyl chloride plate was immersed in a sewage treatment tank and the percent area of algae growth was examined. As a result, as is clear from Table 1, the algae-proofing paint of the present invention had very little algae growth, and the algae-proofing paint of the present invention had an extremely excellent algae-proofing effect. .
