    する電気コネクタにおいて、 中央部にスロツト状の開口部を有する全体的に
    長方形の形をしたダイカストフレーム部材と、 ケーブルに接続される複数のコンタクトであつ
    てカバーによつて当該接続が保持される前記コン
    タクトを支持するように形成された電気的絶縁部
    材による支持体と、 前記支持体を覆い、前記ダイカストフレーム部
    材における前記支持体を前記スロツト状の開口部
    を通して延出しかつ載置するように形成された金
    属シールドであつて、前記コンタクトにおけるケ
    ーブルに接続された端部と反対側のコンタクト領
    域に対し接地路を設けるようにした前記金属シー
    ルドとを含むことを特徴とする電気コネクタ。
