Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a surface sheet whose transparency is high without generating an interference pattern of light, by forming a large number of microscopic protrusions of transparent plastic on a sheet of a transparent material. CONSTITUTION:A plastic sheet such as a polyester sheet is used as a sheet of a transparent material. Thermoplastic resin such as unsaturated polyester can be used as transparent plastic to be made into a large number of protrusions. Printing is performed by gravure or offset or other arbitrary method by making use of transparent plastic as ink to form the microscopic protrusions. Circular dots whose diameter is 0.01-0.5mm and thickness is 0.1-5mu are arranged at a regular or irregular pattern as the microscopic protrusions. In the case where the same is made a sheet of a transparent touch panel, this surface sheet is superposed upon a transparent electrode membrance sheet 5 by facing the microscopic protrusions 3 on the sheet 5. As large number of the protrusions 3 exist between the surface sheet 1 and transparent electrode membrane sheet 5, a distance (d) between the sheets is prevented from becoming so short as to generate interference of light. Therefore, it does not happen that an interference pattern is generated.

When two transparent plastic sheets are placed one on top of the other, depending on how close they are, a tiny gap may form, where light may interfere, creating an interference pattern called Newton's ring J. When such interference patterns occur on a transparent touch panel placed on a display screen such as a liquid crystal display, it not only looks unsightly, but also causes erroneous operation.
``Non-Glare Sheet'' A transparent plastic sheet with matte treatment called ``Anti-Glare Sheet'' is used as the top sheet. However, this type of surface sheet is manufactured by kneading a matting agent such as silica into the plastic to form a sheet, or by processing the surface of the plastic sheet to +1 or applying a matting agent, so it is not transparent. sexuality is declining. Therefore, there is a drawback that characters and images on the display screen are difficult to distinguish.

An object of the present invention is to provide a surface sheet that improves the drawbacks of conventional products, maintains transparency, and does not produce light interference patterns. Structure of the Invention [Means for Solving the Problems] As shown in the drawings, the transparent surface sheet 1 without interference patterns of the present invention is made of a sheet of transparent material 2 on which transparent plastic microscopic particles are placed. A large number of projections 3 are formed. The sheet of transparent material is typically a sheet of plastic such as polyester, polyvinyl chloride, acrylic resin, polycarbonate, or polyurethane, but of course a glass sheet may also be used. If desired, a sheet with a transparent conductive thin film such as indium tin oxide on its surface can also be used. If it is desired to increase the adhesive strength between the sheet of transparent material and the minute protrusions, it is preferable to perform a primer treatment on the sheet of transparent material. Further, when it is desired to improve the abrasion resistance, a hard coat 4 may be applied to the surface without minute protrusions, as shown, to the extent that transparency is not impaired. Transparent plastics with many protrusions include unsaturated polyester, unsaturated acrylic resin, unsaturated polyurethane, UV-curable resins such as diene rubber, and heat-curable resins such as epoxy resin, phenolic resin, melamine resin, and silicone rubber. Thermoplastic resins such as plastic resin, acrylic resin, polyester, and polyurethane can be used. To form minute protrusions, transparent plastic can be used as ink and printed by gravure, offset, or any other method. The minute protrusions have a diameter of 0.01 to 0.5 mm, preferably 0.05 to 0.2 #, and a thickness of 0.1 to 5 μ, preferably 0.
.. A typical example is circular dots of 5 to 2 microns arranged in a regular or irregular pattern. other than this,
Any pattern of protrusions can be used, such as dot shapes such as ellipses and polygons, honeycomb shapes, stripes, lattice shapes, and web shapes.

As a typical usage example of the transparent top sheet that does not produce an interference pattern of the present invention, when it is used as a top sheet for a transparent touch panel, as shown in the drawing, this top sheet is placed on top of the transparent electrode membrane sheet 5. Stack them with the small protrusions 3 facing each other. Since there are many protrusions 3 between the top sheet 1 and the transparent electrode membrane sheet 5, it is possible to prevent the distance @d between the sheets from being close enough to cause light interference. Therefore, no interference pattern occurs. The protrusions themselves are made of a transparent material and are extremely small, so they do not visually obstruct. The sheet has high transparency because there is no kneading or treatment that would reduce the transparency of the top sheet.
