せる第1の通路手段と、上記フイルタの再生時、
上記フイルタ内において排気ガスを上記第1の方
向とは反対の第2の方向に沿つて流動させる第2
の通路手段と、上記フイルタに対して上記第2の
方向の上流側に配設され、再生時、フイルタに捕
集されたパテイキユレートを着火する着火手段と
、排気ガスの流動方向を第1および第2の方向の
間において切換える通路切換手段とを備え、この
通路切換手段は、上記フイルタの再生開始時、排
気ガスの流動方向を第1の方向から第2の方向に
徐々に切換えることを特徴とするデイーゼルエン
