Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect a fault due to short-circuit or mis-connection between a camera and a monitor television with simple constitution by providing a meand detecting a video signal output of a monitor camera and a means controlling an output of a camera power supply by a detection output. CONSTITUTION:When a power supply is supplied from a power supply circuit 1 for camera to a monitor camera 2 via a line 6, a video signal is outputted from the camera 2. When a fault such as mis-connection or short-circuit line takes place, no video signal is outputted. Thus, when the video signal from the camera 2 is not detected by a video signal detection circuit 3, it is discriminated that the connection between the camera 2 and the monitor television 5 is faulty, and the supply of the power supply 1 is stopped by the switch 4. That is, the video signal output from the camera 2 is detected by the circuit 3 and since the supply of the power supply 1 is stopped against mis-operation or line short-circuit by the switch 4 controlling the power supply 1 by the detection output, the system is protected.

Conventional technology Traditionally, surveillance equipment using video cameras has
Power is supplied from the monitor TV side to the surveillance camera. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 4, in case of a short circuit in the line 6 between the surveillance camera 2 and the camera power supply 1 on the monitor TV side, the line voltage is detected by the comparator 26,
A configuration was adopted in which the camera power supply 1 was stopped in the event of a short circuit.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, with such a configuration, it is difficult to protect against a half-sheet condition rather than a complete short circuit. Furthermore, since the supply of power cannot be stopped even in the event of an incorrect connection, there is a risk that the power supply unit or the incorrectly connected load device may be destroyed, and there is a problem that protection cannot be provided under such circumstances.

Operation According to the above configuration, when power is supplied to the surveillance camera from the power supply unit for the surveillance camera in the monitor television, a video signal is output from the camera. On the other hand, if an abnormality such as a misconnection or a short circuit occurs, no video signal is output. Therefore, it is possible to determine whether the connection status between the surveillance camera and the monitor TV is normal or abnormal based on the presence or absence of video signal output from the surveillance camera.
Protection can be achieved by stopping the power supply to the camera when there is no video signal output.

The video signal detection section 3 is composed of a synchronization separation section and a detection section, and a DC blocking capacitor 11 takes out only the video signal (waveform A in FIG. 3), and a transistor 14 takes out only the synchronization signal to a resistor 15. B in the waveform diagram shown in Figure 3
corresponds to this. Next, this synchronizing signal is applied to the DC blocking capacitor 16. Detection diodes 17 and 18. By passing the voltage through a detection section composed of a smoothing capacitor 19, it can be extracted as a DC voltage as shown in FIG. 3C. Therefore,
When the video signal is output, the detection output becomes H level, but when the video signal is not output, the detection output becomes 0 volts. Switch 4 is an inverting transistor 21 and 22
When the detection output is at H level, transistor 21 is turned on, transistor 22 is turned off, and transistor 23 remains on, but when the detection output is at 0 port, transistor 21 is turned off, ) The transistor 22 turns on, turns off the transistor 23, and stops the camera power supply.

Incidentally, when the camera power supply is started, even in a normal state, there is a slight time difference between the time the camera power supply is started and the time when the video signal is output from the camera. This can be dealt with by supplying the camera image signal applied to the terminal 24 to the transistor 21 through the capacitor 25 and delaying the start of operation of the switch 4 at startup.

Effects of the Invention As described above, the present invention provides a detection circuit for the video signal output from the camera and a switch circuit that can control the camera power supply based on the detection output in a camera monitoring device in which a surveillance camera and a monitor TV are installed at a separate location. This makes it possible to stop the camera power supply in the event of a system misconnection or line short circuit, so the system can be protected with a simple circuit configuration, and its practical effects are impressive.
