本実施例では、つまみ部14の上部側が平面状の載置部14aになっていて、図1(c)に示すように図1(a)の状態からつまみ部を摘まみ、逆さに裏返して平坦な載置面Gに自立載置できる。
このようにすると開口部13aが上部側に位置するお椀形状のりんとして使用できる。
本実施例は、図1(b)に断面図を示すように支柱状の支持部12の上端部に凸部12aを形成し、これにりん部13の内側の中央部に設けた凹部13bを載置するようにして支持させた例となっている。
これにより、図1(a)の状態では、つまみ部14を軽く摘まみ、廻すことでりん部13が矢印Wで示すように回転する。
また、りん棒等で軽く叩くと、りん部13が支持部12の凸部12aを支点にして図1(b)にfで示すように揺動する。
これにより、回転によるドップラー効果と揺動する動きが一体化した特有の音色が発現する。

この場合に円盤状のつまみ部14Dの載置部は限らずしも平坦である必要はなく、3点以上の突起部で水平に支えるようにしてもよい。
(e)は、つまみ部14Eの載置部に凹部14cを形成することで、ドーナッツ状の枠形状からなる載置部にした例である。

設けるつまみ部14Fの数や位置、形状等に限定はなく、例えばつまみ部14Fに模様が描かれていてもよい。
(g)は、連結部14bと載置部14aの間に2つの側面視で略楕円状の突出部14gを有するつまみ部14Gとした例である。
(h)は、連結部14bに連結する円盤連結部14dから、さらに突出する2つの略楕円状の突出部14hを有するつまみ部14Hとした例である。
上記(f)~(h)の回転型おりんは、つまみ部14を軽く摘まみ、廻すことで、(i)~(k)に示すようにりん部13、つまみ部14が矢印Wで示すように回転する。
このように回転することで、ゆっくりした回転の場合には、つまみ部14に回転による動きが生じ、比較的回転が速いと残像による回転像が生じる。
例えば、回転前の(f)では、つまみ部14Fがまるでりん部13から生えた翼や耳のようであるが、回転状態の(i)ではつまみ部14Fが回転することで、りん部13の上部で径の小さなリングが回転しているようにも見える。
