The operation of the sheet sticking apparatus EA will now be described.
First, a user of the sheet application device EA (hereinafter simply referred to as "user") sets the original roll RS on the sheet application device EA, in which each member is arranged in the initial position shown by the solid line in Fig. 1(A), as shown in the figure, and then inputs a signal to start automatic operation via an operation means such as an operation panel or a personal computer (not shown). Then, the application means 10 drives the rotary motor 15A to pay out the original roll RS, and when the leading end of the leading adhesive sheet AS in the payout direction is peeled off by a predetermined length by the peeling edge 13A of the peeling plate 13, the driving of the rotary motor 15A is stopped. Next, the supply means 30 drives the rotary motor 31, rotates the belt 34 in a counterclockwise direction to transport the adherend WK in the transport direction TD, and when the leading adherend WK reaches a predetermined position, the attachment means 10 drives the rotary motor 15A to unwind the original roll RS in accordance with the moving speed of the adherend WK, and the attachment transport means 20 drives the rotary motor 21A to rotate the belt 21D in a counterclockwise direction. As a result, the adhesive sheet AS is peeled off from the release sheet RL at the peeling edge 13A of the peeling plate 13, and as shown by the two-dot chain line in Fig. 1 (A), the adhesive sheet AS is pressed against the adherend WK by the pressing roller 14 and attached to the adherend UP, forming the attachment body UP. After that, the attachment body UP is transported in the transport direction TD by the conveyor 21, and when the next adhesive sheet AS is peeled off by a predetermined length at the peeling edge 13A of the peeling plate 13, the attachment means 10 stops driving the rotary motor 15A.

Next, when the detection means 22 detects that the adhesive body UP has reached a predetermined position, the adhesive body transport means 20 drives the rotary motor 23D and the linear motor 23A to rotate the belt 23G in a counterclockwise direction and raise the push-up member 23C, leading the leading end of the adhesive body UP in the transport direction upward to form the folded sheet portion ASF, as shown in Fig. 1(B). When the rotation of the belts 21D and 23G in the counterclockwise direction continues thereafter, the folded sheet portion ASF is guided downward along the arc portion 23H of the guide member 23J, as shown by the two-dot chain line in Fig. 1(B), and the folded sheet portion ASF is attached to and connected to the adhesive surface AS1 of the unfolded sheet portion ASR, as shown in Fig. 1(C). When the folded sheet portion ASF is attached to the unfolded sheet portion ASR, the attachment transport means 20 drives the linear motor 23A to return the push-up member 23C to its initial position, then drives the rotary motor 23D to rotate the belt 23G in a clockwise direction, and as shown in FIG. 1(D), the attachment portion UP, in which the folded sheet portion ASF and the unfolded sheet portion ASR are connected, is delivered to the free roller conveyor 41, and the same operations as above are repeated thereafter.

According to the above embodiment, the folded sheet portion ASF is connected to the unfolded sheet portion ASR, so that it is possible to minimize the possibility that the stock area for storing the patch UP will become full in a short period of time.
