図2C及び図2Dに、それぞれ表示部11a、表示部11bが有する画素の構成例を示す。表示部11aは、画素21a1、画素21a2、及び画素21b1を有する。表示部11bは、画素21b1及び画素21b2を有する。
上記では、受光素子23を有する画素(画素21b等)は、3つの表示素子に加えて受光素子23を有する例を示したが、3つの表示素子のうち、いずれか一つと、受光素子23とを置き換える構成としてもよい。
表示部11aが主画面として機能するのに対し、表示部11bは副画面として機能するため、必ずしもフルカラーの表示が必要ではない場合がある。また、表示部11bが、指紋等を撮像する機能に特化し、画像を表示させないといった使用方法を適用することもできる。この場合、表示部11bが有する画素は、受光素子と、光源として機能する、一以上の表示素子を有する構成とすることができる。
以下では、上記とは異なる電子機器の構成例について説明する。
図6Aに、電子機器10aの構成例を示す。電子機器10aは、一対の表示部11bを有する点、及び筐体12の形状が異なる点で、図1Aで例示した電子機器10と主に相違している。
図6Bに、電子機器10bの構成例を示す。電子機器10bは、筐体12の上面側に画面が設けられた構成である。
図7A及び図7Bに、タブレット型の電子機器10cの構成例を示している。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の表示装置の構成例について、図面を参照して説明する。以下で例示する表示装置は、実施の形態1で例示した電子機器の第1の表示部及び第2の表示部に適用することができる。
〔構成例1-1〕
図9Aに、表示装置50の模式図を示す。表示装置50は、基板51、基板52、受光素子53、発光素子57R、発光素子57G、発光素子57B、機能層55等を有する。
以下では、可視光を呈する発光素子と、赤外光を呈する発光素子と、受光素子と、を備える構成の例について説明する。
本発明の一態様の表示装置が有する基板に、可撓性を有する材料を用いることで、湾曲させることのできる表示装置とすることができる。このような構成とすることで、表示装置の一部を曲面に沿って設けることができる。

図13Aに、表示装置100Aの断面概略図を示す。
図13Bに表示装置100Bの断面図を示す。なお、以降の表示装置の説明において、先に説明した表示装置と同様の構成については、説明を省略することがある。
図13Cに、表示装置100Cの断面概略図を示す。表示装置100Cは、基板151、基板152、及び隔壁216を有さず、基板153、基板154、接着層155、絶縁層212、及び隔壁217を有する点で、表示装置100Aと異なる。
上記では、発光素子と受光素子が、2つの共通層を有する例を示したが、これに限られない。以下では、共通層の構成が異なる例について説明する。
以下では、表示装置のより具体的な構成例について説明する。
図16に、表示装置200Aの斜視図を示す。
図18Aに、表示装置200Bの断面図を示す。表示装置200Bは、レンズ149及び保護層195を有する点で、主に表示装置200Aと相違している。
図19Aに、表示装置200Cの断面図を示す。表示装置200Cは、トランジスタの構造が異なる点、遮光層BM及びレンズ149を有さない点で、主に表示装置200Bと相違している。
図20に、表示装置200Dの断面図を示す。表示装置200Dは、基板の構成が異なる点で、表示装置200Cと主に相違している。
以下では、半導体層に適用可能な金属酸化物について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の電子機器に適用可能な表示装置について、図21A、図21Bを用いて説明する。
Claims (4)
- 表示装置と、筐体と、を有する電子機器であって、
前記表示装置は、第1の表示領域と、第2の表示領域と、を有し、
前記第1の表示領域は、マトリクス状に配置された複数の第1の発光素子と、マトリクス状に配置された複数の第1の受光素子と、を有し、
前記第2の表示領域は、マトリクス状に配置された複数の第2の発光素子と、マトリクス状に配置された複数の第2の受光素子と、を有し、
前記第1の受光素子は、前記第1の発光素子が発する第1の光を受光する機能を有し、
前記第2の受光素子は、前記第2の発光素子が発する第2の光を受光する機能を有し、
前記第2の受光素子は、前記第1の受光素子よりも高密度に配置され、
前記筐体は、第1の面と、第2の面と、を有し、
前記第1の面と前記第2の面とは、連続して設けられ、且つ、法線方向が異なり、
前記第1の表示領域は、前記第1の面に沿って設けられ、
前記第2の表示領域は、前記第2の面に沿って設けられる、電子機器。 - 請求項1において、
前記第2の面は、曲面を有する、電子機器。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記筐体は、前記第1の表示領域及び前記第2の表示領域を囲う枠部を有し、
前記第2の表示領域は、前記枠部の内輪郭の一部に沿って設けられる、電子機器。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか一において、
前記筐体は、前記第1の表示領域及び前記第2の表示領域を囲う枠部を有し、
前記枠部は、内輪郭が、四辺形形状、または角の丸い四辺形形状を有し、
前記第2の表示領域は、前記内輪郭の隣接する2辺に接して設けられる、電子機器。
