Common types of aprons include H-shaped aprons, cross aprons, and halter neck aprons. However, with halter neck aprons, when an object is placed in the pocket, the weight of the object causes the entire apron to shift downwards, and the weight of the object is then placed on the back of the wearer's neck via the neck strap, which can cause neck and shoulder stiffness.

In view of the above, at least one embodiment of the present disclosure aims to provide an apron that can reduce the strain on the wearer's neck and shoulders.

According to the apron disclosed herein, when the wearer is wearing the apron, a connecting member connects the neck strap around the wearer's neck to the waist strap that crosses the wearer's back, so that if the entire apron shifts downward, the connecting member pulls the neck strap around the wearer's neck downward. This makes it difficult for the wearer's neck to be subjected to a force that shifts the entire apron downward, thereby reducing the strain on the wearer's neck and shoulders.

As shown in FIG. 1, an apron 1 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure comprises an apron main body 2, a neck strap 3 attached to the apron main body 2, and a pair of waist straps 4, 4. The apron 1 further comprises suspenders 5 (connecting members) one end of which can be attached to the neck strap 3.

As shown in Figure 2, the suspenders 5 include a dot button 51 for maintaining one end folded into a loop, a clip 52 provided at the other end, and an adjuster 53, which is a length adjustment member for adjusting the length of the suspenders 5. By removing the dot button 51 and hooking the suspenders onto the neck strap 3 (see Figure 1) to form a loop, and maintaining this state with the dot button 51, one end of the suspenders 5 can be attached to the neck strap 3.

As shown in FIG. 1, the apron main body 2 includes a bib portion 21 and a front body portion 22 located below the bib portion 21. One end of the neck strap 3 is fixed to the upper edge 21a of the bib portion 21, and the other end of the neck strap 3 is tied to a loop member 21b fixed to the upper edge 21a, so that the neck strap 3 and the upper edge 21a form a loop shape. Instead of the loop member 21b, a button may be provided on either the other end of the neck strap 3 or the bib portion 21, and a buttonhole may be formed on the other end, a hook may be used instead of a button, or a clip may be provided on the other end of the neck strap 3 so that the clip clamps the upper edge 21a.

One end of each of the pair of waist strings 4, 4 is fixed to the left and right side edges 22b, 22c of the front body portion 22 near the upper edge 22a of the front body portion 22. The front body portion 22 is provided with an elastic member 23, such as rubber, that can elastically stretch in the left and right direction from a position adjacent to the part where each end of the waist strings 4, 4 is fixed along the upper edge 22a. Two loop members 24, 24 are provided on the surface 22e of the front body portion 22 near the upper edge 22a, with a gap in the left and right direction. In addition, a pocket 25 is also provided on the surface 22e. A slit 26 is formed in the front body portion 22 so as to extend from near the center in the left and right direction of the lower edge 22d of the front body portion 22 toward the pocket 25.

As shown in FIG. 3, the apron body 2 includes a connecting portion 30 that connects the bib portion 21 and the front body portion 22 in a detachable manner. The connecting portion 30 includes four buttons 31 (first members) provided on the back surface 22f of the front body portion 22, and eight button holes 32 (second members) for the buttons 31 formed in the bib portion 21. The four buttons 31 are arranged linearly in the left-right direction so that there is a gap between adjacent buttons. Four of the eight button holes 32 form a button hole row 33 that is arranged linearly so that each of the four buttons 31 corresponds to the position of the button hole row 32, and the other four button holes 32 form a button hole row 34 that is spaced apart from the button hole row 33 and is located below the button hole row 33.

The bib 21 and the front body 22 can be connected by engaging the four buttons 31 with the four buttonholes 32 in either of the buttonhole rows 33 and 34. The length from the upper edge 21a of the bib 21 to the lower edge 22d of the front body 22, i.e., the vertical length of the apron body, can be changed depending on whether the four buttons 31 are engaged with the four buttonholes 32 in the buttonhole row 33 or the four buttons 31 are engaged with the four buttonholes 32 in the buttonhole row 34. This allows the apron body 2 to be adjusted to fit the height of the wearer 10 of the apron 1 (see Figures 6 and 7).

In FIG. 3, two rows of buttonholes 33, 34 are formed in the bib portion 21, but by providing three or more rows of buttonholes, the number of levels of adjustment of the vertical length of the apron body portion 2 can be increased. Furthermore, the number of buttons 31 and the number of buttonholes 32 in each of the buttonhole rows 33, 34 are not limited to four, and any number of buttons 31 and buttonholes 32 may be provided. The buttons 31 may be provided on the surface of the bib portion 21, and the buttonholes 32 may be formed in the front body portion 22. Furthermore, the connection portion 30 is not limited to a configuration including buttons 31 and buttonholes 32, and may be a configuration including hooks, clips, zippers, hook-and-loop fasteners, etc.

When the four buttons 31 are removed from the four buttonholes 32 in either of the buttonhole rows 33 and 34 and the bib portion 21 is separated from the front body portion 22, the apron body portion 2 is configured to have only the front body portion 22. In this case, it can be used as a salon apron.

An engagement portion 40 is provided on the back surface 22f of the front body portion 22. As shown in FIG. 4, the engagement portion 40 includes a belt-shaped member 41 fixed to the back surface 22f near the center in the longitudinal direction, and dot buttons 42, 43 provided near both ends of the belt-shaped member 41. When the dot buttons 42, 43 are connected to each other, the engagement portion 40 becomes a closed loop shape, as shown in FIG. 3.

As shown in FIG. 5, the chest piece 21 can be folded onto the back surface 22f of the front body portion 22 without having to be separated from the front body portion 22 to form a salon apron. At this time, the neck strap 3 can be engaged with the closed loop-shaped engagement portion 40. Even if the apron 1 is worn with the chest piece 21 folded onto the back surface 22f of the front body portion 22, the neck strap 3 does not move below the engagement portion 40, reducing the risk of the chest piece 21 sagging downward on the back surface 22f of the front body portion 22 while being worn.

As shown in FIG. 6, the apron body 2 is positioned in front of the wearer 10 so that the neck 11 of the wearer 10 passes through the loop formed by the neck strap 3 and the upper edge 21a of the chest piece 21. A pair of waist straps 4, 4 with one end fixed to the front body 22 cross the back of the wearer in opposite directions, and the other ends of the pair of waist straps 4, 4 are positioned in front of the wearer 10 from the side opposite to the side fixed to the front body 22, and the pair of waist straps 4, 4 are tied on the surface 22e of the front body 22 with each other end passed through the loop member 24. This allows the wearer 10 to wear the apron 1. Since the waist straps 4 pass through the loop member 24, the risk of the waist straps 4, 4 shifting downward when tied together is reduced.

As shown in FIG. 7, one end of the suspenders 5 is connected to the neck strap 3 on the back of the wearer 10, and the clip 52 on the other end of the suspenders 5 is connected to one or both of a pair of waist straps 4, 4 that cross the back of the wearer 10. As a result, the suspenders 5 are in a state in which the neck strap 3 and the waist strap 4 are connected. Therefore, the dot button 51 and the clip 52 respectively constitute attachment members for attaching one end and the other end of the suspenders 5 to the neck strap 3 and the waist strap 4, respectively. Note that this attachment member is not limited to the dot button or clip, and may be any other button, hook, etc. Also, the connecting member may be a simple string-like member that does not have attachment members on both ends, in which case both ends of the string-like member may be tied to the neck strap 3 and the waist strap 4, respectively.

For example, if the wearer 10 puts a heavy object in the pocket 25 (see FIG. 6) while wearing the apron 1, the weight of the object will cause the entire apron 1 to shift downward, and this weight will be placed on the neck 11 of the wearer 10 via the neck strap 3. However, in the apron 1, the suspenders 5 connect the neck strap 3 to the waist strap 4, so when the entire apron 1 tries to shift downward, the suspenders 5 pull the neck strap 3 downward on the back of the wearer 10. This reduces the weight placed on the neck 11 of the wearer 10 via the neck strap 3, i.e., the force that shifts the entire apron 1 downward is less likely to be applied to the back of the neck 11 of the wearer 10, thereby reducing the burden on the neck 11 and shoulders of the wearer 10.

In addition, the front body portion 22 is provided with an elastic member 23 that can stretch left and right from the portion where one end of each of the waist strings 4, 4 is fixed along the upper edge 22a. By pulling each of the waist strings 4, 4, the elastic member 23 stretches elastically, and the elastic force of the elastic member 23 is applied to the waist of the wearer 10, strengthening the fixation between the wearer 10 and the apron main body portion 2. This makes it difficult for the entire apron 1 to slip downward, further reducing the burden on the neck 11 and shoulders of the wearer 10.

The length of the suspenders 5 can be adjusted using the adjusters 53, so that the length of the suspenders 5 can be adjusted to suit the height of the wearer 10, and the same effects as described above can be achieved for wearers 10 of various heights. In addition, when there is no need to reduce the burden on the neck 11 and shoulders of the wearer 10, the suspenders 5 can be removed from the neck straps 3 and waist straps 4 and used as a conventional apron.

In the apron 1, the apron body 2 is configured so that the bib portion 21 and the front body portion 22 can be separated, but the two may be inseparable, i.e., the entire apron may be one piece.
