Abstract

Description

The present invention relates to a bunion supporter used to prevent and correct hallux valgus.

In hallux valgus, the tip of the big toe bends toward the index toe, causing pain in the protruding part on the inside of the joint at the base. To prevent or correct this type of toe deformation, there are known corrective devices for hallux valgus that correct hallux valgus by spreading the tip of the big toe away from the index toe (inside) (see Patent Documents 1 to 3).

The hallux valgus correction device in Patent Document 1 is composed of a cushioning body that is sandwiched between the first and second toes to correct hallux valgus, and elastic ring bodies fixed to both sides of the cushioning body. The ring bodies are removably attached to the first and second toes, and by shifting the positions on both sides of the cushioning body (pad) to correspond to the positions of these toes, they are less likely to come off and provide a comfortable fit. Furthermore, a guide is provided on the surface of the cushioning body in the length direction of the toes to prevent the cushioning body from shifting out of position. When the hallux valgus correction device is attached to the toes, the cushioning body spreads the first and second toes to an appropriate distance, providing the effect of correcting or preventing hallux valgus.

However, the hallux valgus corrective device in Patent Document 1 places a cushioning body (pad) between the big toe and index toe, so it is not possible to apply any corrective force that matches the degree of hallux valgus deformation for each individual. The cushioning body is placed between the big toe while it is still in an outward position, and the big toe remains in an outward position, and the index to little toe (pinky finger) is pressed, which may result in the corrective force being lost. Hallux valgus is not just a deformation of the fingers, but the angle of the big toe relative to the foot (foot body, instep) is important, so it is desirable to be able to arbitrarily determine the angle of the big toe relative to the foot and the angle from the index to little toe. The cushioning body can act on the toes, but it does not have enough power to adjust the alignment of the toes relative to the foot, and it is not possible to adjust the corrective force (force in the direction of separation) for each of the big toe and index toe.

The bunion supporter in Patent Document 2 comprises a big toe storage bag for storing the big toe, a tension belt having one end connected to a portion located on the inside of the big toe storage bag and having elasticity extending along the inside of the foot toward the heel, a holding means connected to the other end of the tension belt that holds the tension belt in a position along the inside of the foot when stretched, and a linear reinforcing part that is a tension load transmitting means having a higher axial stiffness than the surrounding area and transmits the tension load of the tension belt to the big toe storage bag.

However, the bunion support in Patent Document 2 only corrects the big toe by transmitting a tensile load to the big toe storage bag, and does not prevent the index toe from lifting up or correct it away from the big toe, and does not provide sufficient power to adjust the alignment of the entire toe relative to the foot (foot body, instep).

The corrective footwear for hallux valgus in Patent Document 3 has two long vertical grooves drilled in the center of the toe tip part of the insole of the footwear, with the grooves spaced apart from each other and expanding toward the toes. The base end of the upper covering the first toe is fitted into the inner groove, and the base end of the upper covering the other toes is fitted into the outer groove, and both ends of the upper on the front side of the ankle and both other ends of the upper at the toe tip part are sandwiched between the insole and the outsole.

However, the hallux valgus corrective footwear of Patent Document 3 only has two uppers sandwiched between the first and second toes at a fixed interval, which is the same as sandwiching a fixed-sized pad between the first and second toes, so it is unable to apply any corrective force to suit the degree of hallux valgus deformation for each individual, and the corrective force is insufficient. The cushioning can act on the toes, but it does not have enough power to adjust the alignment of the toes with the foot, and it is not possible to adjust the corrective force (force in the direction of separation) for each of the first and second toes. Furthermore, because hallux valgus corrective footwear is a type of footwear similar to sandals, it is not possible to wear different shoes, and Japanese people, who spend a lot of time indoors without their shoes on, wear the footwear for a short period of time, making it difficult for the corrective force to be applied.

Generally, when symptoms of hallux valgus become severe, the first toe bends inwards and slides under the index toe, causing the index toe to lift up. In this regard, hallux valgus supports are equipped with a thong-type correction section that is attached to the base and opens up the space between the first toe and index toe, and presses the toes from above. The independent band on the index toe presses the index toe from above and below, preventing the index toe from lifting up and adjusting the alignment of the entire toe on the foot.

The tip of the front band 40 for the upper is provided with a hook-and-loop fastener 41 that can be attached to the main body 20, the tip of the rear band 42 for the upper is provided with a hook-and-loop fastener 43 that can be attached to the main body 20, and the tip of the heel band 50 is provided with a hook-and-loop fastener 51 that can be attached to the main body 20.

In the bunion support 10, the main body 20, base 21, instep front band 40, instep rear band 42, and heel band 50 are integrally formed and made of stretchy fabric.

Next, the thong-type correcting portion 30 will be described.
The thong type correction part 30 is provided with a big toe side band 31, the base end of which is provided on the base part 21, which passes between the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 when worn, pulling the big toe 64 inwardly and fastening it to the main body part 20, and a big toe side band 32, the base end of which is provided on the base part 21, which passes between the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 when worn, pulling the big toe 65 outwardly and fastening it to the main body part 20.

The thong-type correction unit 30 is annular and elastic, and includes an annular inter-toe pad 33 through which the big toe side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 are passed and which is sandwiched between the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 when the thong-type correction unit 30 is worn. The big toe side band 31 and the big toe side band 31 spread the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 in opposite directions (the big toe 64 is inward and the index toe 65 is outward) so that they are spaced apart, and the annular inter-toe pad 33 allows the degree of separation between the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 to be adjusted. The big toe side band 31 and the big toe side band 31 are passed between the big toe 64 and the index toe 65, and the big toe side band 31 and the big toe side band 31 pull the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 in a V-shape that extends laterally backward in a plan view. The toe side band 32 is elastic and includes a toe separate part 32a that constitutes the base end and biases the toe 65 outward when worn, a toe holding part 32b that is continuous with the toe separate part 32a and prevents the toe 65 from lifting up when worn, and a hook-and-loop fastener 32c that is provided at the tip of the toe holding part 32b and can be detachably fastened to the main body part 20.

The hook-and-loop fastener 31c of the band 31 on the big toe side and the hook-and-loop fastener 32c of the band 32 on the index toe side are fastened to the main body 20, and the shear strength of the hook-and-loop fasteners 31c and 32c is 2.6 N/cm2 or more and 8.3 N/cm2 or less, and the peel strength of the hook-and-loop fasteners 31c and 32c is 0.39 N/cm or more and 1.34 N/cm or less.

Next, how to wear the hallux valgus support 10 according to the embodiment will be described.
As shown in FIG. 4(A), the bunion support 10 is spread out, the annular intertoe pad 33 of the thong-type correction part 30 is placed between the first toe 64 and the index toe 65 of the foot 60, the toes (first toe 64, index toe 65, middle toe 66, ring toe 67, little toe 68) are placed on the base part 21, and the longitudinal arch pad 22 is aligned with the arch 61.

As shown in FIG. 4B, the instep front band 40 and the instep rear band 42 are wrapped around the foot 60 and fastened with hook-and-loop fasteners 41 and 43 to provide an appropriate tightening force. The heel belt 50 is wrapped around the back of the heel 63 and fastened with hook-and-loop fastener 51. The big toe side band 31 is pulled so that the big toe 64 opens inward, and fastened with hook-and-loop fastener 31c to provide an appropriate corrective force (biasing force). Similarly, the index toe side band 32 is pulled so that the index toe 65 opens outward, and fastened with hook-and-loop fastener 32c to provide an appropriate corrective force (biasing force). The order in which the hook-and-loop fasteners 41, 43, 51, 31c, and 32c are fastened may be changed as appropriate.

As shown in Figures 5(A) and 5(B), the hallux valgus support 10 is worn. The big toe band 31 and the index toe band 32 can be fastened independently, so any corrective force can be applied to suit the shape of various feet 60 and toes (big toe 64, index toe 65, middle toe 66, ring toe 67, little toe 68) and the degree of hallux valgus deformation of each individual.

The base 21 (see FIG. 4) is also provided with a base reinforcing section 21a that reinforces the base 21. This maintains the shape of the parts of the toes that receive strong pressure (big toe 64, index toe 65, middle toe 66, ring toe 67, little toe 68), and allows the thong-shaped corrective section 30 to function effectively, maintaining the gap between the big toe 64 and index toe 65 and preventing them from lifting up. The base reinforcing section 21a may be provided with a hook-and-loop loop that makes it easier to attach the hook-and-loop fasteners 31c and 32c.

The front band 40 for the instep and the rear band 42 for the instep can also be fastened independently, allowing adjustments to suit the shape of the foot 60 and the tightness required for each part. The heel band 50 prevents the bunion support 10 from shifting forward or backward relative to the foot 60 when walking, etc.

Next, the operation of the hallux valgus supporter 110 of another comparative example will be described.

As a result, the index toe 65 shown by the imaginary line in Figure 8 (A) is pressed into the position of the index toe 65 shown by the solid line, allowing for proper positioning of the toes (index toe 65).

As shown in Fig. 9(A), in the hallux valgus support 10, the base 21 is provided with a plurality of slits 25 through which the hallux side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 can be inserted. The base ends of the hallux side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 are connected to the back of the base 21. The hallux side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 are inserted into arbitrarily selected slits 25 from among the plurality of slits 25 and extended to the front side of the base 21. In this way, the positions and intervals of the hallux side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 can be freely set. This allows for the application of any corrective force suited to the degree of hallux valgus deformation for each individual.

Next, a further embodiment of the thong type correcting portion 30 according to the embodiment will be described.
9(B), in the hallux valgus support 10, the hallux side band 31 has an attachment portion 31d with a hook-and-loop fastener 31e at its base end, and is detachably attached to the base 21. The index toe side band 32 has an attachment portion 32d with a hook-and-loop fastener 32e at its base end, and is detachably attached to the base 21. In this way, the hallux side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 have attachment portions 31d, 32d with hook-and-loop fasteners 31e, 32e, respectively, and are detachably attached to the base 21, so that the hallux side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 can be attached at any position on the base 21 as indicated by the arrow (6), and any corrective force can be applied according to the degree of hallux valgus deformation for each person.

Next, the effects of the hallux valgus support 10 of the embodiment described above will be described.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the thong-type corrective portion 30 is provided with a big toe side band 31, the base end of which is provided on the base portion 21 and which passes between the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 when the thong is put on, pulling it inward while covering the big toe 64 and being fastened to the main portion 20, and an index toe side band 32, the base end of which is provided on the base portion 21 and which passes between the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 when the thong is put on, pulling it outward while covering the index toe 65 and being fastened to the main portion 20. Therefore, the two bands, the big toe side band 31 and the index toe side band 32, each independently pull the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 in a direction separating them, and it is possible to adjust the distance between the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 and the corrective force (tensile force) in the direction separating the big toe 64 and the index toe 65, respectively, and it is possible to apply any corrective force that suits the degree of deformation of the hallux valgus of each individual.

Furthermore, the thong-type correction section 30 is annular and elastic, and is equipped with an annular inter-toe pad 33 through which the big toe side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 are passed and which is sandwiched between the big toe 64 and index toe 65 when worn, so that the degree of separation between the big toe 64 and index toe 65 can be adjusted by this annular inter-toe pad 33. This makes it possible to apply any correction force that matches the degree of deformation of the hallux valgus of each individual.

Furthermore, because the big toe side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 are separate, the big toe 64 and the index toe 65 can be biased inward and outward with different optimal forces, respectively, and any corrective force can be applied according to the degree of deformation of the hallux valgus of each person. Furthermore, the big toe side band 31 is elastic and is composed of parts with different roles, such as the big toe separate part 31a that constitutes the base end and biases the big toe 64 inward when worn, the big toe pressing part 31b that covers the big toe 64, and the hook-and-loop fastener 31c that is detachably fastened to the main body part 20, so that not only can the big toe 64 be biased inward, but it can also be pressed from above to below, and the biasing force and pressing force can be easily adjusted by the position of the hook-and-loop fastener 31c. Similarly, the index toe side band 32 is elastic and is made up of a toe separate section 32a that forms the base end and urges the index toe outward when worn, a toe holding section 32b that prevents the index toe 65 from lifting up, and a hook-and-loop fastener 32c that is detachably fastened to the main body section 20. As a result, the band not only urges the index toe 65, middle toe 66, ring toe 67, and little toe 68 outward, but also holds them down from above, and the urging and holding force can be easily adjusted by the position of the hook-and-loop fastener 32c.

Furthermore, the base 21 is provided with a plurality of slits 25 through which the hallux side band 31 and index toe side band 32 can be inserted, so that the hallux side band 31 and index toe side band 32 can be extended by freely selecting an appropriate slit 25 from the plurality of slits 25 to apply any corrective force appropriate to the degree of hallux valgus deformation for each individual. Furthermore, the base ends of the hallux side band 31 and index toe side band 32 are connected to the back of the base 21 and are inserted through the slits 25 and extend to the front side of the base 21, so that the hallux side band 31 and index toe side band 32 can be used continuously without coming off even when a strong load is applied.

Furthermore, the hallux side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 are provided with attachment parts 31d and 32d with hook-and-loop fasteners 31e and 32e, respectively, and are detachably attached to the base 21. Therefore, the hallux side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 can be attached at any desired position on the base 21, and any corrective force can be applied according to the degree of hallux valgus deformation for each individual.

The shear strength of the hook-and-loop fasteners 31c, 32c that fasten the big toe side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 to the main body 20 is 2.6 N/cm2 or more and 8.3 N/cm2 or less, and the peel strength of the hook-and-loop fasteners 31c, 32c is 0.39 N/cm or more and 1.34 N/cm or less, which makes it possible to minimize the resistance of the big toe side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 to coming off even when the foot 60 is moved, and also prevents the big toe side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 from coming off and being damaged when a strong load is applied to the hallux valgus support 10.

The bunion support 10 also has a thong-type correction section 30 that is attached to the base section 21 and opens the gap between the first toe 64 and the index toe 65 while pressing the toes from above. The independent index toe side band 32 presses the index toe 65 from above and below, preventing the index toe 65 from lifting up and adjusting the alignment of the entire toe relative to the foot.

In the embodiment, the thong-type correction section 30 is used by passing the big toe side band 31 and the index toe side band 32 through the annular inter-toe pad 33, but this is not limited to this, and the annular inter-toe pad 33 may be omitted and only the big toe side band 31 and index toe side band 32 may be used.

In other words, as long as the action and effect of the present invention are achieved, the present invention is not limited to the examples.

The technology of the present invention is suitable for use as a bunion support for preventing and correcting hallux valgus.
