Description

The present invention relates to a fishing rod trigger that can be detachably attached to the base of a fishing rod and can hold the fingers of a hand gripping the fishing rod, and a fishing rod equipped with such a fishing rod trigger.

Conventionally, fishing rods, particularly fishing rods using reels such as lure rods, are provided with a so-called trigger that can hold the fingers of the gripping hand so that the rod can be freely controlled, and a grip section is provided behind the trigger (towards the base of the rod) to improve grip. Then, by gripping this grip section with the hand and holding the fingers of that hand on the trigger (for example, holding the trigger between the little finger and ring finger, or between the ring finger and middle finger), the hand can be stabilized and the fishing rod can be freely controlled to perform fishing operations. Also, when casting (casting) aimed at a desired point, the hand can be stabilized by gripping this grip section with the hand and holding the fingers of that hand on the trigger, enabling accurate casting.

Fishing rods equipped with such triggers have been known in various forms for some time. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a fishing rod trigger that is detachably attached so that the finger hook extends from the back side of the reel seat of the base rod on which the fishing reel is placed, opposite the reel leg placement surface.

Conventional fishing rod triggers, including that of Patent Document 1, are designed with fixed orientation, position, shape, and size of the finger hook that holds the finger, and the angler cannot change these. Therefore, depending on the fishing conditions and the angler's operating style, fishing operations may be difficult or feel strange. In other words, conventional fishing rod triggers cannot change the shape of the finger hook (e.g., the curved direction, tilt direction, size, circumferential position relative to the fishing rod, etc.) according to the situation (i.e., they cannot be changed in position or replaced), making it difficult to always ensure a good finger hook condition.

The present invention was made with the above-mentioned problems in mind, and aims to provide a fishing rod trigger and fishing rod that allows the finger hook to be easily changed or replaced depending on the situation.

To achieve the above-mentioned objective, the present invention provides a fishing rod trigger that is detachably attached to the base of a fishing rod and can be used to engage the fingers of a hand gripping the fishing rod, and is characterized by having a clamping attachment part that is rotatably supported on the base of the fishing rod and is clamped and fixed between the components that make up the fishing rod, and a finger hook that extends from the clamping attachment part and can be used to engage the fingers of a hand gripping the fishing rod.

The fishing rod trigger of the above configuration is detachably attached to the base of the fishing rod, and its clamping attachment part is rotatably supported on the base of the fishing rod and clamped between the components of the fishing rod. For example, by preparing multiple triggers with different shapes (e.g., the direction and shape of the curve and inclination of the finger hook) and/or sizes (see triggers 50 and 55 in the embodiment described below), these triggers can be easily replaced depending on the situation. Furthermore, even if it is the same trigger, it can be rotated relative to the fishing rod to change its circumferential position relative to the fishing rod and change the direction/attitude of the finger hook (and therefore the finger hook position), making it possible to always easily ensure a good finger hooking state according to the fishing conditions and the angler's operating style. This makes it possible to avoid inconveniences such as difficulty in fishing or discomfort when fishing.

In the above configuration, the "components" that make up the fishing rod refer to not only the rod itself, but also any and all components that are attached to the rod and play a role in clamping and fixing the trigger, such as the nut/bolt components and cap (plug) components.

In the above configuration, it is preferable that the clamping attachment portion is formed in a plate shape and has an opening into which the support shaft portion extending axially from the rod shaft that forms the base side of the fishing rod is inserted and fitted. This makes it easy to clamp and fix the trigger to the rod shaft in a rotatable manner, and also makes it easy to attach and detach the trigger to the fishing rod by simply inserting and removing the support shaft portion axially into and from the opening.

In addition, in the above configuration, it is preferable that the clamping attachment portion has an outer periphery that is flush with the outer periphery of the rod when it is engaged and supported by the support shaft. With this, the clamping attachment portion does not protrude from the outer surface of the rod when the trigger is clamped and fixed to the rod base, so the rod base can be gripped by hand without any discomfort, ensuring good grip.

In addition, in the above configuration, it is preferable that the clamping attachment part can be clamped and fixed with its front and rear faces facing the axial direction of the rod inverted. This makes it possible to reverse the finger hook position simply by inverting the trigger.

The present invention also provides a telescopic fishing rod that includes a base rod that stores multiple rods and that connects the stored rods in a telescopic manner, and that includes a trigger that is detachably attached to the base rod and can be held by the fingers of a hand that holds the fishing rod, and a cover member that is attached to the base rod so that the multiple rods do not protrude from the base rod, and the cover member forms a detachable grip on the rear end of the base rod, and the trigger has a clamping attachment part that is rotatably supported by the base rod when the cover member is attached to the rear end of the base rod and is clamped and fixed between the cover member and the base rod, and a finger hook that extends from the clamping attachment part and can be held by the fingers of a hand that holds the fishing rod.

With this configuration, in addition to the effects of the fishing rod trigger described above, the cover member that prevents the multiple rods stored in the butt rod from protruding also constitutes (serves as) a detachable grip for the rear end of the butt rod, so the cover member will not get lost during actual fishing. Also, because the cover member is attached to the butt rod as a grip, the butt rod can be made longer when in use, and becomes a cover member when stored, improving portability and operability during use.

The present invention provides a fishing rod trigger and fishing rod that allows the finger hook to be easily adjusted or replaced depending on the situation.

Figures 1 to 3 show a first form of a fishing rod according to the present invention, to which a detachable fishing rod trigger of a first shape according to one embodiment of the present invention is attached. Figure 1(a) is a partial cross-sectional view showing the stored state of multiple rod shafts, and Figure 1(b) is a perspective view of the stored state. Figure 2 is a perspective view showing the fishing rod shown in Figure 1, to which a detachable fishing rod trigger according to one embodiment of the present invention is attached, in a use state with some of the rod shafts extended. Figure 3 shows the grip portion of the fishing rod shown in Figure 1, to which a detachable fishing rod trigger according to one embodiment of the present invention is attached, in a use state, where (a) is a partial cross-sectional view and (b) is a perspective view.

As is well known, the fishing rod 1 of the present invention is configured as a telescopic rod in which multiple rods 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 6e...6N are telescopically extended in sequence, and the base end of the small diameter rod is joined to the tip of the large diameter rod, and the multiple rods are stored in sequence inside the large diameter rod, with all rods stored inside the largest diameter rod (base rod) 5. In the present invention, the number of rods stored inside the base rod 5 (number of joints) is arbitrary, and N rods (rods 6a to 6N) are stored in sequence in the larger diameter rods, with the smallest diameter rod 6N being the tip rod.

Note that not all of the rods to be stored are shown in Fig. 1(a) and Fig. 2. Also, for ease of understanding, Fig. 1(a) shows the rods to be stored, but the butt rod 5 is covered by a cover member 30 (described later) attached to it, so it is not exposed (see Fig. 1(b)). Furthermore, the fishing rod of this embodiment is equipped with a reel seat and fishing line guide, and is configured to be able to use both spinning reels and dual-bearing reels. Therefore, when using a spinning reel, the reel seat and fishing line guide are used so that they face downward, and when using a dual-bearing reel, the reel seat and fishing line guide are used so that they face upward.

As described above, the fishing rod 1 of this embodiment is configured so that it can be used with a reel such as a spinning reel or a dual-bearing reel, and the fishing line guides 8, 8a to 8N that guide the fishing line that is paid out from the reel are attached (mounted) to the tip of each rod shaft. In this case, the fishing line guide 8N is a so-called tip guide. Also, although the fishing line guide 8 attached to the base rod 5 shown in FIG. 2 is not shown in FIG. 1(a), this fishing line guide 8 is configured to be removable as described below. Also, some of the fishing line guides may include floating guides.

The butt rod 5 and the multiple rods 6a to 6N stored in the butt rod 5 are constructed as tubular bodies made of fiber-reinforced resin as is well known, and are formed according to standard methods, such as winding a prepreg sheet of fiber-reinforced resin made by impregnating reinforced fibers (mainly carbon fibers or glass fibers, etc.) with synthetic resin such as epoxy resin around a core metal (mandrel), subjecting it to a heating process, and then removing the core. The tip rod 6N may be constructed as a solid body or a combination of a solid body and a tubular body, in addition to being a tubular body.

The butt rod 5 is provided with a reel seat 7 on which a reel is attached. The reel seat 7 is provided in the base end region of the butt rod 5, and as is well known, includes a reel leg placement section 7a on which the reel leg is placed, and hood sections 7b, 7c disposed in front and behind the reel leg for fastening the reel leg. In this embodiment, the rear hood section 7c is a fixed hood, and the front hood section 7b is a movable hood that moves in the axial direction (hereinafter referred to as the movable hood 7b and the fixed hood 7c).

The fixed hood 7c is fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the base end of the base rod 5 and has a receiving hole 7ca that opens toward the reel leg mounting portion 7a. The movable hood 7b also has a receiving hole 7ba that opens toward the reel leg mounting portion 7a (the receiving hole 7ba may open over 360°). The movable hood 7b has an operating portion 7bb that has a female screw portion that screws into the male screw portion provided on the base rod 5, and the rear side is inserted into the receiving hole 7ca of the fixed hood 7c while placing the reel leg on the reel leg mounting portion 7a, and the reel leg is tightened and fixed between the receiving hole 7ba of the movable hood 7b and the receiving hole 7ca of the fixed hood 7c by rotating the operating portion 7bb. Note that the configuration of the reel seat and the moving mechanism of the movable hood are publicly known, so detailed explanations will be omitted.

The base rod 5 extends so that the rear end side of the fixed hood 7c protrudes in the axial direction, and a bottom plug (butt plug) 10 is attached to the outer periphery of the protruding portion 5a. The bottom plug 10 is formed in a cap shape as shown in FIG. 4, and an air hole 10b is formed in the rear end surface 10a. The inner surface of the peripheral wall 10c of the bottom plug 10 is provided with a female screw portion 10d that screws into the male screw portion formed in the protruding portion 5a. This female screw portion 10d may be formed directly on the inner surface of the peripheral wall 10c, or may be formed on the inner surface of an annular body 10e that is press-fitted and fixed to the peripheral wall 10c as shown in FIG. In addition, a plurality of ring-shaped irregularities 10f are formed on the outer periphery of the peripheral wall 10c so that the open end of the cover member 30 described later can be easily press-fitted and fixed (a press-fit structure is formed). That is, the bottom plug 10 has the function of closing the opening at the rear end of the base rod 5 and also closing the opening at the rear end of the cover member 30.

The inner surface of the bottom plug 10 may have a press-fit structure rather than a screw-on structure, and the outer surface of the bottom plug 10 may have a screw-on structure rather than a press-fit structure.

A cap member 12 is removably fixed to the rear end opening of the base rod 5. This cap member 12 has the function of preventing the stored rod from falling when the bottom plug 10 is removed from the base rod 5 and attached to the cover member 30. It is preferable to form an opening 12a for venting air on the rear end surface of this cap member 12.

A cover member 30 is removably attached to the butt rod 5, which functions as a protective cover for conventional telescopic fishing rods (functions to prevent the multiple rods stored in the butt rod from protruding). This cover member 30 can be removed from the butt rod 5, and by attaching it to the rear end of the butt rod 5, it also functions as a grip that can be grasped and held during actual fishing.

The configuration of the cover member 30 will now be described in detail.
The cover member 30 of this embodiment is configured as a cylindrical body so as to cover the butt rod 5 along the axial direction (so as to cover the butt rod 5), and is configured to be rod-shaped when stored. The cross-sectional shape of the cylindrical body is not particularly limited to polygonal, circular, elliptical, etc., but since the butt rod 5 is a tubular body with a circular cross section, it is preferable to form it into a cylindrical shape (circular cross section) in consideration of design and appearance. In addition, the material is not particularly limited, and it may be formed of the same material as the butt rod 5 and the multiple rods 6a to 6N stored therein, various metals such as aluminum and SUS, resin, fiber-reinforced resin, etc., and various surface treatments such as painting, physical vapor deposition, and chemical vapor deposition may be applied to improve the appearance as necessary. Alternatively, since it also functions as a grip, it may be covered with a flexible material such as EVA or cork, as in the case of a normal grip, to improve the grip and holding ability.

The cylindrical cover member 30 is attached to the butt rod 5 from the tip side in the axial direction, so the cover member 30 and butt rod 5 are provided with a fixing structure that fixes the two together when the cover member 30 is attached. The cover member 30 of this embodiment is configured so that it can be attached to the butt rod 5 up to a position where the reel seat 7 provided on the butt rod 5 is exposed, and the fixing structure is configured so that the cover member 30 is pressed in and fixed by the frictional force between the cover member 30 and the butt rod 5.

Specifically, ring-shaped projections 5A and 5B are formed (or O-rings or the like are provided) on the outer surface of the movable hood 7b and the outer surface of a ring member attached to the front side of the movable hood operating part 7bb, respectively, and are configured so that the inner opening surface and inner surface of the tip side of the cover member 30 can be pressed and fixed in place. Therefore, when the cover member 30 is attached to and fixed on the base rod 5, the reel leg mounting part 7a of the reel seat 7 is exposed.

The fixing structure, fixing position, and fixing method of the cover member 30 and the base rod 5 are not particularly limited, and they may be fixed with a screw structure, or may be modified as appropriate, such as a locking structure using claws.

The upper plug 40 is removably attached to the tip of the cover member 30 in this embodiment. The upper plug 40 can be press-fitted into the tip opening of the cover member 30. In this embodiment, as clearly shown in FIG. 5, a male screw portion 41a is formed on the body 41 of the upper plug 40, and this portion is screwed into the female screw member 32 fixed to the tip of the cover member 30 to be removably fixed. In addition, an opening locking portion 41b is formed on the body 41 of the upper plug 40 so that it can be locked to a ring-shaped holding member 70 (see FIG. 8) described later and set. This opening locking portion 41b may have a structure that allows the holding member 70 to be inserted therethrough, and can be appropriately modified, such as by locking it to the holding member 70 via a ring member 72 as shown in FIG. 8.

The upper plug 40 may be press-fitted into the inner surface of the opening at the tip of the cover member 30. The cover member 30 may also be designed to simply prevent the multiple rods from protruding, without providing the upper plug 40. In such a configuration, it is sufficient to provide an opening locking portion on one of the cover members 30.

The above-mentioned cover member 30 has a predetermined length L1 in the axial direction, and as shown in Figures 2 and 3, by attaching it to the rear end of the butt rod 5, it forms a grip of length L1 for the fishing rod. In other words, in a conventional telescopic fishing rod, the part that is gripped and held is the area of the butt rod 5, which has a length of L, but by attaching the cover member 30 to the rear end of the butt rod 5, the fishing rod can be extended by the length L1 of the cover member 30 when actually fishing (the operation method will be described later).

The fishing rod of this embodiment is configured to be able to mount a reel as described above, and each rod shaft is fitted with a fishing line guide through which the fishing line unwound from the reel passes. In this case, it is preferable that the attached cover member 30 is configured so as not to interfere with the attached fishing line guide. For example, in the case of a dual-bearing type reel, the height of the attached fishing line guide does not need to be very high, so even if the cover member 30 is attached to the base rod 5, it is possible to prevent interference between the cover member 30 and the fishing line guide. Alternatively, such interference can be prevented by making the diameter of the cover member 30 slightly larger.

However, when a spinning reel is attached, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the fishing line guide (particularly the fishing line guide 8 on the base end side) becomes taller, and there is a possibility that it may interfere with the cover member 30 attached to the butt rod 5. As described above, it is possible to prevent interference by increasing the diameter of the cover member 30, but by configuring the fishing line guide that causes interference to be detachable from the rod, there is no need to increase the diameter of the cover member 30. For example, if the fishing line guide 8 attached to the tip of the butt rod 5 is tall, as shown in Fig. 6, a bulge 5d having an insertion opening 5e is provided at the tip of the butt rod 5, and the leg 8A of the fishing line guide 8 is pressed into this part to make it detachable. That is, in this embodiment, the fishing line guide 8 that interferes with the cover member 30 when the cover member 30 is attached to the butt rod 5 (and other interfering fishing line guides, if any) is detachably attached to the rod (butt rod 5).

This type of detachable fishing line guide 8 has a fishing line insertion hole 8B through which the fishing line is inserted, and in some cases an opening 8C for weight reduction, so that as shown in Figure 8, this portion can be used to engage with a ring-shaped holding member 70 (i.e., the holding member 70 can hold the fishing line guide 8, which is detachably attached).

As described above, the fishing rod of this embodiment can be used with both spinning reels and dual-bearing reels, and therefore the line guides 8 detachably attached to the base rod 5 are provided as a set consisting of a tall one (line guide 8) for spinning reels and a short one (line guide 18 shown in Figures 8 and 10) for dual-bearing reels. That is, in this embodiment, the detachably attached line guides include a plurality of line guides 8, 18 of different heights that can be attached to the same position on the rod, making it possible to use both spinning reels and dual-bearing reels.
The number of detachable fishing line guides may be multiple. Also, instead of making the interfering fishing line guides detachable from each rod, it is possible to make them bendable so that the cover member 30 and the fishing line guides do not interfere with each other when stored. Examples of the bendable configuration include a configuration in which the fishing line guide 8 is attached to the base rod 5 by a hinge or the like so that it can be raised and lowered, as shown in Fig. 11, or a configuration in which the fishing line guide 8 can be raised and lowered by its elastic deformation (in Fig. 11, the solid line indicates the upright state, and the dashed line indicates the fallen state). Also, when the height of the foldable fishing line guide 8 is high, the fishing line guide 8 may have a first guide hole 81 for a spinning reel and a second guide hole 82 for a dual-bearing reel, which has a smaller diameter than the first guide hole 81, arranged side by side in the height direction, as shown in Fig. 11.

The above fishing rod can be used in various forms depending on the fishing method, etc. For example, in lure fishing using a bait reel, it is preferable to provide a trigger (fishing rod trigger) that can be hooked with the fingers corresponding to the part where the reel is attached. Therefore, in this embodiment, a first shape trigger 50 according to one embodiment of the present invention, which can be hooked with the fingers of the hand holding the fishing rod, is configured to be removably attached and fixed to the base side of the fishing rod, particularly to the base rod 5 in the illustrated example (the orientation of the fishing rod and fishing line guide shown in Figures 2 and 3 is for a spinning reel, but for convenience, the trigger 50 is also shown).

The trigger 50 can be detachably arranged in correspondence with the position where the reel seat 7 of the butt rod 5 is provided, and is preferably attached to the fixed hood 7c so that the fingers can be hooked when the reel (double-bearing type reel) to be attached is held together with the butt rod 5 (here, it is attached to the base end (rod butt) side of the reel seat 7, but as described later, it may be attached to the tip side of the reel seat 7). Specifically, as clearly shown in Figures 3 and 7, the trigger 50 of this embodiment is rotatably (rotatably) supported by the protruding portion 5a (as shown by the arrow in Figures 2 and 3(b)) as a support shaft provided on the butt side of the fishing rod, particularly at the rear end of the butt rod 5 in this embodiment, and has a clamping attachment portion 54 that is clamped and fixed between the butt rod 5 and the cover member 30 in this embodiment, and a finger hook portion 52 that extends from the clamping attachment portion 54 and can be hooked by the fingers of the hand holding the fishing rod. In this case, at least the clamping attachment part 54 is formed in a plate shape, but in this embodiment, the entire trigger 50 is formed in a plate shape. The clamping attachment part 54 has an opening 51 through which the protruding part 5a is inserted and fitted. As clearly shown in FIG. 3(a), the clamping attachment part 54 has an outer peripheral edge 54a that is flush with the outer peripheral surface of the butt rod (protruding part 5a) when it is fitted and supported by the protruding part 5a. This allows the cover member 30 provided on the outside to be attached without any hindrance, and even in other examples (not shown) that do not involve the attachment of the cover member 30 as in this embodiment, such a flush form is beneficial in that the clamping attachment part 54 does not protrude from the outer surface of the butt rod when the trigger 50 is clamped and fixed to the butt side, so that the butt side of the fishing rod can be gripped by hand without discomfort and good gripping ability can be ensured. Furthermore, according to this embodiment, due to the plate-like shape with the opening 51 described above, the clamping attachment part 54 can be clamped and fixed with its front and rear faces facing the axial direction of the rod inverted state.

In this way, the trigger 50 can be clamped and fixed between the cover member 30 and the base rod 5 by removing the bottom plug 10 from the base rod 5, fitting the opening 51 into the protruding portion 5a, and attaching the cover member 30 to the protruding portion 5a in this state. With this type of detachable structure, the circumferential position of the finger hook portion 52 of the trigger 50 can be set to the desired position by loosening the clamping and rotating the trigger 50 to the desired rotational position, and then clamping and fixing it again, making it possible to arrange the trigger 50 in the optimal position depending on the usage mode of the fishing rod (such as shaking the fishing rod).

The trigger 50 also has an opening 51 that fits over the protruding portion 5a of the butt rod, so like the upper plug 40 and fishing line guide 7 described above, this part can be used to engage with the ring-shaped retaining member 70 and set, as shown in Figure 8.

The holding member 70 is inserted into the opening and locking portion of the fishing rod and its components (fishing line guide, trigger, top plug, other small items, etc.) used during actual fishing to integrate them, and is used to facilitate the transportation of the fishing rod and its components used during actual fishing without causing them to get lost. The holding member 70 is preferably configured as a ring-shaped member, for example, a carabiner-type hook, and can be attached to the belt of pants to improve ease of handling during transportation and use. In particular, with mobile fishing rod sets (rods with a storage dimension of approximately 30 cm or less), shortening the overall length improves ease of handling.

In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 8, the fishing rod set is configured such that the holding member 70 holds a fishing line guide 8 that is taller for spinning reels and a fishing line guide 18 that is shorter for dual-bearing reels. Like the fishing line guide 8, the fishing line guide 18 has a fishing line insertion hole 18B through which the holding member 70 passes and a leg 18A that is pressed into the insertion opening 5e of the rod base 5. As for the trigger, as shown in FIG. 8, different types of triggers may be held according to preference, such as a larger second shape trigger 55 with a slightly curved finger hook 56.

Next, an example of how the fishing rod 1 is used will be described.
As shown in Figures 1(a) and (b), when the rod is not in use, the cover member 30 is attached to the butt rod 5 (fixed and covers the outer circumferential surface of the butt rod except for the reel seat area), and the stored dimensions of the fishing rod are the axial length L1 of the cover member 30 plus the length to the exposed reel seat 7 (the length including the bottom plug 10).

In this embodiment, the reel seat 7 is exposed, so the reel can be transported with the reel attached in the retracted size of the rod. In this case, as shown in FIG. 8, the top plug 40 is engaged with the retaining member 70, and the fishing line guide 8 and trigger 50 are also engaged with the retaining member 70, improving the transportability and handling of the fishing rod set and preventing the loss of the components necessary for the fishing rod.

When using the fishing rod, the cover member 30 is removed from the butt rod 5 and attached directly to the base end of the butt rod 5 (see Figures 2 and 3). In this embodiment, the tip of the cover member 30 is attached to the base end of the butt rod 5, so the upper plug 40 is removed and the tip of the cover member 30 is left open. The lower plug 10 attached to the butt rod 5 is also removed from the rear end of the butt rod 5. Even if the lower plug 10 is removed, the rod stored in the butt rod will not fall off during the installation of the cover member, because the cap member 12 is attached to the rear end of the butt rod.

When the cover member 30 is removed from the butt rod 5 and the top plug 40 is removed, as described above, the female screw member 32 that screws into the top plug 40 is formed on the tip side, and this part is designed to screw directly into the male screw portion formed on the protruding portion 5a of the butt rod. By combining the two, a grip of length L1 is formed by the cover member 30 on the rear end side of the butt rod 5 (see Figures 2 and 3). In addition, a fishing line guide 8 (in the case of a spinning reel) or a fishing line guide 18 (in the case of a dual-bearing reel; see FIG. 8) is fixed to the tip of the butt rod 5, and a first shape trigger 50 or a second shape trigger 55 is fixed between the butt rod 5 and the cover member 30 as necessary, and the bottom plug 10 removed from the butt rod 5 is pressed into and fixed to the inner peripheral surface of the rear end opening of the cover member 30 (the rear end opening of the cover member is pressed into the ring-shaped unevenness 10f of the bottom plug 10, and the opening edge is abutted against the step 10f' and fixed).

The cover member 30 is attached to the rear end of the butt rod 5 and functions as a grip, so there is no risk of it getting lost during actual fishing, as with conventional protective covers. Also, by attaching it to the butt rod 5 as a grip, the length of the butt rod 5 is increased, and although the retractable fishing rod has a short and compact storage dimension, when actually used the butt rod becomes longer, improving operability. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 1, the storage state is compact, so it does not take up much space and is easy to carry.

When storing the rod as shown in FIG. 1 from the use state shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, the cover member 30 in the grip state is removed from the rear end of the base rod 5, the bottom plug 10 and the fishing line guide 8 are removed, and each rod is stored in the base rod 5, and the cover member 30 is attached from the axial direction. In this case, even if the bottom plug 10 is fixed to the rear end of the base rod 5 and the cover member 30 is attached, as described above, the rear end surface of the cap member 12 has an air vent opening 12a and the bottom plug 10 also has an air hole 10b, so that air escapes when the cover member 30 is inserted, and the attachment operation can be easily performed. In addition, since the fishing line guide 8 has also been removed from the base rod 5 (because the fishing line guide 8 is lying down in the example of FIG. 11), there is no interference between the fishing line guide 8 and the cover member 30.

The length relationship between the cover member 30 and the butt rod 5 can be modified as appropriate. For example, as shown in FIG. 1, the dimension L1 of the cover member 30 can be lengthened to lengthen the hollow portion between the cover member 30 and the tip of the butt rod 5. In this case, it is preferable to attach a flexible member (not shown) to the inside of the cover member 30 so that the rod stored in the butt rod 5 does not pop out from the tip of the butt rod 5. Alternatively, a partition structure can be provided inside the cover member 30 so that various small items (rigs, etc.) can be stored. By making the axial dimension L1 of the cover member 30 equal to or greater than the axial dimension L of the butt rod 5 (L1>L), the butt rod 5 can be shortened while ensuring a sufficient grip length, thereby improving compactness and fishing operability.

Figures 9 and 10 are diagrams showing a second form of a fishing rod to which a second-shaped detachable fishing rod trigger according to one embodiment of the present invention is attached, where Figure 9(a) is a partial cross-sectional view showing a state in which multiple rod rods are stored, and Figure 9(b) is a perspective view of the stored state, and Figure 10 is a diagram showing the grip portion of the fishing rod shown in Figure 9 in a state in which a second-shaped detachable fishing rod trigger according to one embodiment of the present invention is attached, where Figure 10(a) is a partial cross-sectional view, and Figure 10(b) is a perspective view.

In the first embodiment described above, the cover member 30 was configured to expose the reel seat 7, but in this embodiment, it is fixed to the base end of the butt rod 5 while covering the butt rod 5. Specifically, a ring-shaped projection 5C is formed on the outer surface of the fixed hood 7c, and the inner opening of the cover member 30 can be pressed into and fixed in this area. Therefore, when the cover member 30 is attached and fixed to the butt rod 5, the reel seat 7 is covered and not exposed.

With this configuration, the storage dimensions can be further shortened, improving ease of handling and transport. The fishing rod of this embodiment is designed to be fitted with a dual-bearing reel, and a low-height fishing line guide 18 is attached to the butt rod 5, as well as a larger second-shape trigger 55.

In the above embodiment, the trigger is detachably attached behind the reel seat 7, but the trigger may be attached in front of the reel seat 7 as shown in Fig. 12. In this case, the illustrated trigger 50A is clamped on the movable hood 7b side, and specifically, in this example, as shown in Fig. 12(a), the movable hood 7b is divided into parts A and B, and the part A is moved relative to the part B by a moving mechanism using a screw, pressure, etc. (see the solid thin arrow in Fig. 12(a)), so that the trigger 50A can be clamped and fixed between the parts A and B. In addition, when clamping and fixing, the trigger 50A may be inserted between the parts A and B of the movable hood 7b from below, as shown by the thick white arrow in Fig. 12(a). In this case, in order to enable such insertion from below, the trigger 50A has a rod insertion groove (e.g., a U-shaped groove) 50y that opens upward, as shown in Fig. 12(b), into which the portion 5' of the butt rod 5 located in the area of the movable hood 7b is inserted, and thus the trigger 50A is clamped and fixed between the parts A and B in a state where it is fitted to the butt rod 5 from below. In this case, the trigger 50A also has an opening locking portion 50x through which the holding member 70 can be inserted, and this opening locking portion 50x is designed to be hit and bitten into by the index finger of the hand gripping the fishing rod when the index finger of the hand gripping the fishing rod is locked to the trigger 50A in the state shown in Fig. 12(a) where the trigger 50A is attached to the butt rod 5, thereby improving the gripping and holding ability during actual fishing.
As a modified example, the trigger may be mounted on the movable hood 7b from the side instead of from below. In such a case, as shown in FIG. 12(c), the modified trigger 50B has a rod insertion groove (e.g., a U-shaped groove) 50y' that opens to the side, and the portion 5' of the base rod 5 located in the area of the movable hood 7b is inserted into this rod insertion groove 50y'. Such mounting from the side makes mounting easier because the trigger 50B is held by the portion 5' of the base rod 5 when clamped and fixed by the movable hood 7b and does not fall off downward.

In addition, such a trigger 50A (50B) can be selectively attached to the front or rear of the reel seat 7. In such selective attachment, if the outer diameter of the part 5" of the butt rod 5 located in the rear area of the reel seat 7 is different from the outer diameter of the part 5' of the butt rod 5 located in the front area of the reel seat 7, specifically, as shown in FIG. 12(a), if the outer diameter of the part 5" of the butt rod 5 is smaller than the outer diameter of the part 5' of the butt rod 5, an adapter member 150 having an opening 150a with an inner diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the rod insertion groove 50y (50y') (inner diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the part 5" of the butt rod 5 with the smaller outer diameter) can be inserted into the rod insertion groove 50y (50y') of the trigger 50A (50B) for use.

Although the embodiment of the present invention has been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiment and can be modified in various ways, for example, as described below.
In the above embodiment, a fishing rod to which a reel is attached is exemplified, but examples of such fishing rods include fishing rods dedicated to spinning reels and fishing rods dedicated to dual-bearing reels.

The cover member 30 has a structure in which its tip portion is fixed to the base end portion of the base rod 5, but it may also have a structure in which its rear end portion is fixed to the base end portion of the base rod 5.
The length of the cover member 30 can be modified as appropriate. For example, by making it approximately the same length as the butt rod 5 and having it cover the entire length, the fishing rod can be made compact (mobile) and can be extended when in use, improving ease of handling.

The method of fixing the cover member 30 to the base rod 5 can be modified as appropriate, for example, by a press-fit structure, a screw structure, a clamp structure, etc., and the fixing position can also be modified as appropriate.
The shape and length of the cover member 30 can be appropriately modified as long as it prevents the rod housed in the base rod 5 from popping out and functions as a grip for the base rod.

a trigger that is detachably attached to the butt rod and can be engaged with the fingers of a hand holding the fishing rod;
