Description
本願は、米国仮特許出願第62/852,779号(出願日:2019年5月24日)に係る優先権を主張するものであり、その記載内容は全て、参照によりあらゆる目的のために本願の開示内容に含まれるものとする。
本願開示は、内燃機関のための改善された燃料添加物配合物と、その使用方法とに関するものである。本願開示の燃料添加物は、改善されたエンジン燃料を提供する。本願開示の配合物は、ガソリン燃料エンジンあるいはディーゼル燃料エンジンのいずれにも有用であり、また、自動車、トラックや、他の種々のエンジン用途に有用である。好適な一実施形態では本願開示は、エミッションを低減し、性能や環境上の健康及び安全性を改善し、エンジン燃料に関連する毒性物質のリスクを低減する添加物配合物と、当該配合物の使用方法である。
<表1 「MAZ」配合物>
この開示の目的のため、「F MAZ」及び「MAZNitro」との用語は入替え可能に扱う。Maz配合及びFMaz配合が表1及び表2にそれぞれ示されている。Maz600は、Maz:ジ-tert-ブチルペロキシド(DTBP)の重量比を60:40としたものである。F Maz600は、F Maz:DTBPの重量比を60:40としたものである。F Maz/X70/30は、F Maz/X:2,4ジニトロトルエンの重量比を70:30としたものである。F Maz/X 60/40は、FMaz/X:2,4ジニトロトルエンの重量比を60:40としたものである。FMaz/Y 60/40は、F Maz/Y:アゾビスイソブチロニトリルの重量比を60:40としたものである。「X」は、配合物への2,4-ジニトロトルエンの添加を意味し、「Y」は、配合物へのアゾビスイソブチロニトリルの添加を意味する。使用したDTBPは98%溶液である。全ての数値は単位を重量%とする。
例えば、
ポリエステルを含むがこれに限定されない潤滑剤、及び、ニトロエタンと置換された芳香族炭化水素の配合物、
従来公知の特定の配合物より潤滑剤濃度を低減してニトロメタンを低減した配合物、
ニトロエタンを実質的に省略した配合物、並びに/又は、
燃料中における添加物の総濃度を、従来公知の技術において典型的に使用、開示、教示若しくは示唆されたレベルより低いレベルまで低減した配合物
といった本配合物には、ニトロエタンが含まれない。出願人は、優れたエミッション低減能力を維持しつつ製品をより安全に作製するためには、種々の成分の配合のバランスを入念にとる必要があるとの知見を得た。出願人は、エミッション及び性能について本願開示の有利な効果に寄与すると考える数多くの改善形態を開発した。

Claims (13)
- 燃料のための添加物の配合物であって、
約40~約65重量%のニトロプロパンと、
約10~約30重量%のニトロメタンと、
約0.5~約5重量%のC5-C10脂肪酸エステルと、
約25~約35重量%の芳香族炭化水素と、
を含み、
前記添加物は実質的にニトロエタン不含である
ことを特徴とする配合物。 - 前記芳香族炭化水素を約25~約30重量%含む、
請求項1記載の配合物。 - 前記芳香族炭化水素はトルエンである、
請求項1又は2記載の配合物。 - 前記芳香族炭化水素は、エチルベンゼンとキシレンとトルエンとから成る群から選択されたものである、
請求項1又は2記載の配合物。 - 前記C5-C10脂肪酸エステルは、ペンタエリトリトール及びジペンタエリトリトールのうち少なくとも1つを含む、
請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載の配合物。 - 前記C5-C10脂肪酸エステルはペンタエリトリトールを含む、
請求項5記載の配合物。 - 前記C5-C10脂肪酸エステルはジペンタエリトリトールを含む、
請求項5記載の配合物。 - 前記C5-C10脂肪酸エステルは、ペンタエリトリトール及びジペンタエリトリトールを含む、
請求項5記載の配合物。 - 燃料のための添加物の配合物であって、
約40~約65重量%のニトロプロパンと、
約10~約30重量%のニトロメタンと、
約0.5~約5重量%のC5-C10脂肪酸エステルと、
約10~約40重量%の芳香族炭化水素と、
を含み、
前記C5-C10脂肪酸エステルはペンタエリトリトール及びジペンタエリトリトールのうち少なくとも1つを含み、
前記添加物は実質的にニトロエタン不含である
ことを特徴とする配合物。 - 前記芳香族炭化水素を約25~約35重量%含む、
請求項9記載の配合物。 - 前記芳香族炭化水素を約25~約30重量%含む、
