前記第1階段状パターンに含まれる前記第1複合レイヤのうちの特定の第1複合レイヤが、前記第2階段状パターンに含まれる前記第2複合レイヤのうちの特定の第2複合レイヤとスプライス位置において重なり合うように、前記第1端部及び前記第2端部を配置する、方法。
前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションを所望の断面形状に成形することを含む、付記D1に記載の方法。

前記複合構造体の第1セクションを形成し、この際に、前記第1セクションの第1端部がシェブロン形状を有し、前記第1セクションに含まれる第1複合レイヤが、前記第1端部に第1階段状パターンを構成し、前記シェブロン形状は、一組のシェブロン部位から成るものとし、
前記複合構造体の第2セクションを形成し、この際に、前記第2セクションの第2端部が、前記シェブロン形状の相手側形状を有し、前記第2セクションに含まれる第2複合レイヤが、前記第2端部に第2階段状パターンを構成するようにし、前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションは、実質的に平面状であるものとし、
前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションを所望の断面形状に成形し、
前記第1端部及び前記第2端部をツールに配置し、この際に、前記第1階段状パターンに含まれる前記第1複合レイヤが、前記第2階段状パターンに含まれる前記第2複合レイヤと、スプライス位置で重なり合ってラップスプライス継手を構成するようにし、前記第1複合レイヤと前記第2複合レイヤの間に隙間又は重なりの少なくとも1つが形成されるようにし、これにより、前記ラップスプライス継手で応力が低減されるとともに、前記複合構造体における望ましくない皺の発生を前記スプライス位置で低減させるようにし、
前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションを硬化させて、前記複合構造体を形成する、方法。
前記複合構造体の第1セクションと、前記複合構造体の第2セクションと、を含み、
前記第1セクションは、一組のシェブロン部位から成るシェブロン形状の第1端部を有し、前記第1セクションに含まれる第1複合レイヤは、前記第1端部に第1階段状パターンを有し、
前記第2セクションは、前記シェブロン形状の相手側形状の第2端部を有し、前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションは、所望の断面形状を有し、前記第2セクションに含まれる第2複合レイヤは、前記第2端部に第2階段状パターンを有し、前記第1端部及び前記第2端部は、前記第1階段状パターンに含まれる前記第1複合レイヤが、前記第2階段状パターンに含まれる前記第2複合レイヤと、スプライス位置で重なり合うように配置されており、ラップスプライス継手を形成する前記第1複合レイヤと前記第2複合レイヤの間には、隙間又は重なりの少なくとも1つがあり、これにより、前記スプライス位置で応力が低減されているとともに、前記複合構造体における望ましくない皺の発生が前記スプライス位置で低減されている、複合構造体。
前記複合構造体に設けるスプライス位置の数を選択し、
前記複合構造体を形成するためのセクションを階段状パターンに配置して、前記選択された数のスプライス位置に所定数のスプライスを形成し、これにより、前記選択された数のスプライス位置のうちの特定のスプライス位置と、前記スプライス位置以外の前記複合構造体における位置と、の少なくとも1つは、望ましくない皺の発生を低減させる、方法。
前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションを所望の断面形状に成形することを含む、付記H2に記載の方法。
Claims (15)
- 複合構造体の階段状ラップスプライスを形成する方法であって、
第1セクションの各レイヤにシェブロン形状を形成して、前記第1セクションに形成された複数のシェブロン部位から成る第1階段状ラップパターンを前記第1セクションに構成し、
第2セクションの各レイヤに相手側形状を形成して、前記第2セクションに形成された複数の相手側部位から成る第2階段状ラップパターンを前記第2セクションに構成し、
前記シェブロン形状を有する各レイヤを、前記第2セクションにおける相手側形状とそれぞれ重ね合わせて、階段状ラップスプライスを形成する、方法。 - 前記複合構造体の前記階段状ラップスプライスに含まれる重なり及び隙間の位置は、前記複合構造体における望ましくない皺の発生を低減させる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記階段状ラップスプライスは、前記複合構造体における所定数の位置に配置され、前記所定数の位置は、前記複合構造体における望ましくない皺の発生を低減するように選択される、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- エンドエフェクタシステムを用いて前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションのうちの少なくとも1つの配向を操作して、前記シェブロン形状を有する各レイヤを前記第2セクションにおける相手側形状とそれぞれ重ね合わせて、前記階段状ラップスプライスを形成する、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記複数のシェブロン部位、及び、前記複数の相手側部位は、前記複合構造体又は前記階段状ラップスプライスの少なくとも1つにおける亀裂の進展を抑制する、請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記複合構造体に座屈を生じさせる圧縮応力を低減するように、前記複合構造体における前記階段状ラップスプライスを設けるスプライス位置を選択することをさらに含む、請求項1~5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 複合構造体であって、
前記複合構造体の第1セクションと、前記複合構造体の第2セクションと、を含み、
前記第1セクションは、シェブロン形状の第1端部を有し、前記第1セクションに含まれる第1複合レイヤは、前記第1端部に第1階段状パターンを有し、
前記第2セクションは、前記シェブロン形状の相手側形状の第2端部を有し、前記第2セクションに含まれる第2複合レイヤは、前記第2端部に第2階段状パターンを有し、前記第1端部及び前記第2端部は、前記第1階段状パターンに含まれる前記第1複合レイヤが、前記第2階段状パターンに含まれる前記第2複合レイヤと、スプライス位置で重なり合うように配置されており、
前記複合構造体は、ストリンガであり、前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションは、所望の断面形状を有する、複合構造体。 - 前記スプライス位置で、前記複合構造体における望ましくない皺の発生が低減されている、請求項7に記載の複合構造体。
- 前記スプライス位置のスプライスと、前記スプライス位置以外の前記複合構造体における位置と、の少なくとも1つで、望ましくない皺の発生が低減されている、請求項7に記載の複合構造体。
- 前記複合構造体は、その長手方向に湾曲又は屈曲している、請求項7~9のいずれかに記載の複合構造体。
- 前記所望の断面形状は、ハット型、U字型、及び、C字型を含む群から選択される、請求項10に記載の複合構造体。
- 複合構造体であって、
前記複合構造体の第1セクションと、前記複合構造体の第2セクションと、を含み、
前記第1セクションは、シェブロン形状の第1端部を有し、前記第1セクションに含まれる第1複合レイヤは、前記第1端部に第1階段状パターンを有し、
前記第2セクションは、前記シェブロン形状の相手側形状の第2端部を有し、前記第2セクションに含まれる第2複合レイヤは、前記第2端部に第2階段状パターンを有し、前記第1端部及び前記第2端部は、前記第1階段状パターンに含まれる前記第1複合レイヤが、前記第2階段状パターンに含まれる前記第2複合レイヤと、スプライス位置で重なり合うように配置されており、
前記第1セクション及び前記第2セクションは、ツール上で硬化されて前記複合構造体を形成する、複合構造体。 - 前記シェブロン形状は、一組のシェブロン部位から成る、請求項7~12のいずれかに記載の複合構造体。
- 前記第1端部及び前記第2端部は、前記第1階段状パターンに含まれる前記第1複合レイヤが、前記第2階段状パターンに含まれる前記第2複合レイヤと、前記スプライス位置において重なり合うように配置されており、前記第1複合レイヤと前記第2複合レイヤの間には、隙間又は重なりの少なくとも1つがあり、これにより、前記スプライス位置で応力が低減される、請求項7~13のいずれかに記載の複合構造体。
- 前記第1端部及び前記第2端部は、前記第1階段状パターンに含まれる前記第1複合レイヤが、前記第2階段状パターンに含まれる前記第2複合レイヤと重なり合って、前記スプライス位置にラップスプライス継手を構成するように配置されている、請求項7~14のいずれかに記載の複合構造体。
