[製造例1~4]
撹拌機(新東科学株式会社製BL1200)により、表1に示す組成で各成分を充分に混合して液体ベイト剤A-1~A-4を調製した。

[実施例1]
シート成形により作製した平面視形状が円形状のプラスチック製の容器本体(高さ:10mm、内容積:20mL、材質:ポリプロピレン)に、製造例1で得た液体ベイト剤A-1の16gを注ぎ入れた。次いで、含浸体として厚さ10mm、直径40mmの円板状のシート材(王子キノクロス株式会社製、ハトシート)を容器に入れ、液体ベイト剤A-1を含浸体に含浸させた。蓋部材として円形状のプラスチック製フィルム(凸版印刷株式会社製、GLフィルム)を容器本体の上部開口部を覆うように被せてアイロンで容器本体の上端部に熱溶着し、害虫駆除装置を得た。蓋部材には、図5に示すように、直径6.5mmの円形の4つの穴を、辺の長さが14mmの正方形の各頂点に穴の中心がくるように形成し、それらの穴から含浸体を露出させて露出部とした。
平面視での露出部を囲う喫食領域の周囲長Lは76mm、露出部の面積Sは133mm、S/Lは1.74であった。

図4に示すように、露出部の平面視形状が三角形状の環状となるように蓋部材の穴を調節した以外は、実施例1と同様にして害虫駆除装置を得た。環状の露出部は、外周が1辺の長さ23mmの正三角形、内周が1辺の長さ15mmの正三角形となるようにした。
平面視での露出部を囲う喫食領域の周囲長Lは69mm、露出部の面積Sは132mm、S/Lは1.91であった。

平面視での露出部を囲う喫食領域の周囲長Lは60mm、露出部の面積Sは130mm、S/Lは2.17であった。

[評価方法]
(殺虫効果)
縦5cm×横7cmの紙を蛇腹状に折って縦5cm×横5cmの大きさにしたものを0.13mの試験区内に設置して潜伏場所を形成した。前記試験区内に水とマウス用固形飼料(日本クレア社製CE-2)を1個配置し、チャバネゴキブリ20頭を放ち、一晩(約16時間)試験区に馴化させた。馴化後、害虫駆除装置を設置し、24時間後のチャバネゴキブリの死亡個体数を計測し、致死率を求め、以下の評価基準に従って殺虫効果を評価した。
<評価基準>
◎◎:致死率が100%である。
◎:致死率が80%以上100%未満である。
○:致死率が50%以上80%未満である。
△:致死率が30%以上50%未満である。
×:致死率が30%未満である。
[Evaluation method]

A sheet of paper measuring 5 cm long by 7 cm wide was folded into a bellows shape to a size of 5 cm long by 5 cm wide, and placed in a test area of 0.13 m 2 to form a hiding place. ○: The fatality rate is 50% or more and less than 80%.
Δ: Mortality rate is 30% or more and less than 50%.
x: The fatality rate is less than 30%.

(長持ち性)
検害虫駆除装置体の初期質量を予め測定しておき、25℃恒温室内で害虫駆除装置を1か月静置後、再度、害虫駆除装置の質量測定を行い、質量減少量を算出し、以下の評価基準に従って長持ち性(効果持続性、効果持続力)を評価した。
<評価基準>
◎:質量減少量が3.5g未満である。
〇:質量減少量が3.5g以上7.0g未満である。
△:質量減少量が7.0g以上11.0g未満である。
×:質量減少量が11.0g以上である。
(Long-lasting)

表2に示すように、S/Lが本発明に規定する範囲内である実施例1~9では、高い殺虫効果が得られ、また液体ベイト剤の揮散量が少なく、長持ちした。
一方、表3に示すように、S/Lが大きい比較例1では、高い殺虫効果が得られたものの、また液体ベイト剤の揮散量が多く、長持ちしなかった。S/Lが小さい比較例2では、液体ベイト剤の揮散量が少なかったものの、殺虫効果が不充分であった。

平面視で前記露出部を囲う喫食領域の周囲長(mm)をL、前記露出部の面積(mm)をSとしたとき、S/Lが1.1~2.5であり、
前記液体ベイト剤の水分含有率が50質量%以上である、害虫駆除装置。
