The absorbent core is not particularly limited as long as it contains an absorbent material capable of absorbing excrement such as urine. The absorbent material preferably contains hydrophilic fibers from the viewpoint of increasing the absorption rate of urine and the like. In addition, the inclusion of hydrophilic fibers in the absorbent material increases the elasticity of the folded disposable diaper at the folds, facilitating the unfolding of the disposable diaper. On the other hand, from the viewpoint of increasing the absorption capacity, the absorbent material preferably contains a water-absorbent resin. Therefore, the absorbent core preferably contains hydrophilic fibers (particularly pulp fibers) and a water-absorbent resin, and for example, it is preferable to use an aggregate of hydrophilic fibers mixed or sprayed with the water-absorbent resin. In this case, the absorbent core preferably contains 10 parts by mass or more of the water-absorbent resin, more preferably 15 parts by mass or more, and preferably 150 parts by mass or less, preferably 130 parts by mass, with respect to 100 parts by mass of the hydrophilic fiber. The shape (planar shape) of the absorbent core is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include a rectangle, an hourglass shape, and a battledore shape.
