Description
(1) 近位端、遠位端を有する細長いカテーテル本体と、
前記カテーテル本体の前記遠位端に搭載された、近位端及び遠位端を有する電極アレイアセンブリであって、前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記近位端と遠位端の中間の場所で複数の接合部によって相互接続された複数の要素を有している相互接続された骨組みを備える、電極アレイアセンブリと、を備え、前記相互接続された骨組みが、前記カテーテル本体の長手方向軸にほぼ沿って前記要素が配置されている折り畳み型の構成、及び前記相互接続された骨組みに搭載された電極のアレイを展開するように前記要素が前記長手方向軸から径方向外向きに位置付けられている拡張型の構成を有する、カテーテル。
(2) 前記相互接続された骨組みの各要素が、接合部間の縮小された自由長さを有する、実施態様1に記載のカテーテル。
(3) 前記縮小された自由長さが、前記電極アレイアセンブリの近位端から遠位端まで延在している最短輪郭線の長さの半分未満である、実施態様2に記載のカテーテル。
(4) 前記縮小された自由長さが、前記電極アレイアセンブリの近位端から遠位端まで延在している最短輪郭線の長さの3分の1未満である、実施態様3に記載のカテーテル。
(5) 前記相互接続された骨組みが、ポリマー層と、複数の印刷電極と、を備える、実施態様1に記載のカテーテル。
(7) 前記基材がモノリシックである、実施態様6に記載のカテーテル。
(8) 前記基材が切断されたチューブを含む、実施態様7に記載のカテーテル。
(9) 前記基材が形状記憶材料を含む、実施態様6に記載のカテーテル。
(10) 前記相互接続された骨組みが可撓性回路を備える、実施態様5に記載のカテーテル。
(12) 前記相互接続された要素間の接合部が極領域に集中している、実施態様11に記載のカテーテル。
(13) 前記相互接続された要素間の接合部が前記相互接続された骨組みの全体にわたって実質的に均等に分布している、実施態様11に記載のカテーテル。
(14) 前記相互接続された骨組みが複数の自由遠位突出放射状部を備える、実施態様1に記載のカテーテル。
(15) 近位端、遠位端を有する細長いカテーテル本体と、前記カテーテル本体の前記遠位端に搭載された電極アレイアセンブリと、を備える、カテーテルを提供することであって、前記電極アレイアセンブリが、前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記近位端と遠位端の中間の場所で複数の接合部によって相互接続された複数の要素を有する相互接続された骨組みを有する、ことと、
前記相互接続された骨組みが、前記相互接続された骨組みの要素が前記カテーテル本体の長手方向軸にほぼ沿って配置されている折り畳み型の構成にある状態で、前記電極アレイアセンブリを備えた前記カテーテルの前記遠位端を患者内部の所望の領域まで前進させることと、
前記要素が前記カテーテル本体の前記長手方向軸から径方向外向きに位置付けられている拡張型の構成を前記電極アレイアセンブリにとらせて、少なくとも1つの電極が組織と接触するように、前記相互接続された骨組みに搭載された電極のアレイを展開することと、を含む、治療方法。
(17) 組織と接触している前記少なくとも1つの電極に高周波エネルギーを送達して、損傷部位を形成することを更に含む、実施態様15に記載の方法。
Claims (14)
- 近位端、遠位端を有する細長いカテーテル本体と、
前記カテーテル本体の前記遠位端に搭載された、近位端及び遠位端を有する電極アレイアセンブリであって、前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記近位端と前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記遠位端の中間の場所で複数の接合部によって相互接続された複数の要素を有している相互接続された骨組みを備える、電極アレイアセンブリと、を備え、
前記相互接続された骨組みが、ポリマー層と、複数の印刷電極とを備え、前記複数の印刷電極が、前記複数の接合部のうち少なくとも1つで接続された全ての前記要素上に位置付けられており、
前記相互接続された骨組みが、前記カテーテル本体の長手方向軸にほぼ沿って前記要素が配置されている折り畳み型の構成、及び前記相互接続された骨組みに搭載された電極のアレイを展開するように前記要素が前記長手方向軸から径方向外向きに位置付けられている拡張型の構成を有する、カテーテル。 - 前記相互接続された骨組みの各前記要素が、前記接合部間の縮小された自由長さを有する、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記縮小された自由長さが、前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記近位端から前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記遠位端まで延在している最短輪郭線の長さの半分未満である、請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記縮小された自由長さが、前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記近位端から前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記遠位端まで延在している最短輪郭線の長さの3分の1未満である、請求項3に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記複数の接合部が、前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記遠位端よりも前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記近位端に近接する複数の近位接合部と、前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記近位端よりも前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記遠位端に近接する複数の遠位接合部とを含む、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記相互接続された骨組みが、前記ポリマー層が塗布される基材を更に備える、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記基材がモノリシックである、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記基材が切断されたチューブを含む、請求項7に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記基材が形状記憶材料を含む、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記相互接続された骨組みが可撓性回路を備える、請求項5に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記相互接続された骨組みが、閉じた形状を画定するように、前記電極アレイアセンブリの前記遠位端において相互接続された要素間の少なくとも1つの接合部を備える、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記相互接続された要素間の接合部が極領域に集中している、請求項11に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記相互接続された要素間の接合部が前記相互接続された骨組みの全体にわたって実質的に均等に分布している、請求項11に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記相互接続された骨組みが複数の自由遠位突出放射状部を備える、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
