Description
本発明は、2014年12月26日出願の米国仮特許出願第62096983号及び2015年4月24日出願の米国仮特許出願第62152714号の優先権を主張するものであり、これらの出願を参照により本明細書に援用する。
本発明は、電源内蔵型ディスプレイ装置に関し、より詳細には、封入され、流体に浸漬され、光を動力源とし、電気モータで駆動される自転式装置に関する。
Claims (11)
- 所定量の流体と、該流体中に浸漬された電源内蔵型中空回転本体とを収容するような形状及び寸法とした内部空洞を有する光透過性の外側容器を備える自転式装置であって、
前記外側容器は封止されており、
前記本体は、
前記流体に対して実質的に不浸透性であり、継ぎ目に沿って接着剤で接合されている上部シェルと下部シェルとを備える外壁と、
内部チャンバと、
前記外壁を貫通し、前記空洞と前記内部チャンバとを流体連通する流体通路を規定する少なくとも一つの導管と、
前記内部チャンバ内に配置される前記流体の部分、及び前記内部チャンバ内にある所定量の気体と
を備え、
前記少なくとも一つの導管が、前記上部シェルと前記下部シェルとの間の前記継ぎ目に沿った間隙からなり、該間隙が、前記接着剤を存在させないことによって形成される、自転式装置。 - 前記所定量の流体が、
密度の低い方の成分の流体と密度の高い方の成分の流体とを含み、前記密度が低い方の成分の流体は、前記密度の高い方の成分の流体と実質的に不混和性である、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記各成分の流体は、空気よりも密度が高い、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記所定量の流体が、密度が低い方の第一の液体と密度が高い方の第二の液体とを含み、該第一の液体は該第二の液体と実質的に不混和性である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記導管の一端が、前記装置が重力場において平衡である場合に前記第一の液体と前記第二の液体との界面よりも上方に位置する外側孔である、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記本体が実質的に球体であり、前記継ぎ目が赤道部分にくる、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記導管が永久に液体中に浸漬されている、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記内部チャンバが、
上方チャンバと、
下方チャンバと、
該上方チャンバと該下方チャンバとを仕切る流体不浸透性且つ光透過性の隔壁とを備え、
前記流体通路が前記空洞と前記上方チャンバとを流体連通している、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記流体が密度の異なる二つの液体を含み、該液体は、前記外側容器内で前記本体を浮力によって支承するように選択される、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記流体が単一の均質な液体からなる、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 電気モータをさらに備え、
前記電気モータは、
周囲磁場に合わせるための方位磁石と、
該方位磁石とは別の、少なくとも一つの界磁石と、
前記界磁石の向きを前記方位磁石の向きに固定する機械的連携部と、
前記本体に機械的に固定された少なくとも一つのコイルと、
を備え、
前記少なくとも一つのコイルは、前記少なくとも一つの界磁石によって生成される磁場と相互作用するように配置され、
前記回転本体はさらに、
前記少なくとも一つのコイルに整流した電流を供給するための電流源を備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
