Description
本発明の複合めっき膜は、合金マトリクス相と、合金マトリクス相内に分散されたシリコーンとを含む。複合めっき膜に含まれる合金成分の大部分は、金属的性質を示す固溶体である合金マトリクス相を構成し、その他の成分は合金マトリックス相内に分散されている。合金マトリクス相内に分散された成分は、分散相と呼ばれ、本発明に係るシリコーンは、分散相を構成する一成分である。
シリコーンは、上記式(1)に示されるシロキサン骨格を主骨格とする高分子化合物である。シリコーンは、一般に、シラン類を加水分解し、生成したシラノールを脱水縮合することによって製造することができるオリゴマー、ポリマーであり、その多くが市販されている。シリコーンは、多くの産業分野で広く使用されており、特に、その安全性に対する評価を得て、食品添加物、食品用器具類、化粧品、医薬器具等への使用も必要な認可を得て、幅広く応用されている。フッ素樹脂よりも環境蓄積性が低いシリコーンを合金マトリクス相内に分散させることによって、撥水性および撥油性に優れた複合めっき膜を提供することができる。複合めっき膜に含まれるシリコーンの含有率は、シリコーンを構成するSi原子の質量パーセント表示で複合めっき膜全体に対して3.5質量%以上であることが好ましく、20質量%以上であることがより好ましい。シリコーンは常温で固体または液体として存在するものを好適に使用することができる。常温で固体のシリコーンは、粒子としてめっき浴に混合させることができる。合金マトリクスを成膜可能なめっき浴に粒子としてシリコーンを混合した複合めっき用のめっき液を準備し、この複合めっき用のめっき液を用いて、合金マトリクスをめっきによって成膜する方法と同様の方法でめっき処理を行うことで、合金マトリクス相内に粒子状のシリコーンを分散させることができる。シリコーンの粒径(最大値)は、20μm以下であると好ましい。なお、本明細書では、「粒径」とは直径を意味する。本明細書でいう直径は、顕微鏡で観察した視野内にある粒子の最大長とする。
ハンセン溶解度パラメータは、Hildebrandによって正則溶液理論から導かれる溶解度パラメータを分散項δD、分極項δP、水素結合項δHの3成分に分割したものであり、物質の蒸発熱、分子体積、屈折率とダイポールモーメントの値を用いて計算することができる。ハンセン溶解度パラメータとHildebrandによる溶解度パラメータδtotとは、δtot 2=δD 2+δP 2+δH 2の関係がある。ハンセン溶解度パラメータの分散項δD、分極項δP、水素結合項δHが小さいほど、親和性が高い関係にある溶媒が少なくなる。また、ハンセン溶解度パラメータの相互作用半径が小さいほど、親和性が高い関係にある溶媒が少なくなる。本発明者は、シリコーンのハンセン溶解度パラメータを調べることによって、撥水性および撥油性に優れたシリコーンを選別することを見出した。ハンセン溶解度パラメータの値は文献に掲載されているものを使用してもよいし、市販のハンセン溶解度パラメータ計算ソフト(例えば、HSPiP:Hansen Solubility Parameters in Practice等)によって計算されたものを使用してもよい。下記の表1に、本発明において好適に使用できるシリコーンの具体例と、そのハンセン溶解度パラメータと、シリコーンの常温での形態とを示す。なお、表1に示す数値の単位はMPa1/2である。また、表1のハンセン溶解度パラメータの値は、ポリジメチルシロキサンについてはHSPiPを用いて計算した計算値を示しており、その他の物質については、文献値(出典:Hansen Solubility Parameters:A user’s handbook,2nd ed.,CRC Press.(2007))を示している。シリコーンのハンセン溶解度パラメータは、分散項δDが0MPa1/2以上かつ15MPa1/2以下、分極項δPが0MPa1/2以上かつ3MPa1/2以下、水素結合項δHが0MPa1/2以上かつ3MPa1/2以下であることが好ましく、分散項δDが0MPa1/2以上かつ13MPa1/2以下、分極項δPが0MPa1/2以上かつ2.5MPa1/2以下、水素結合項δHが0MPa1/2以上かつ2MPa1/2以下であることがより好ましい。また、シリコーンのハンセン溶解球の相互作用半径は、0MPa1/2以上かつ5.0MPa1/2以下であることが好ましく、0MPa1/2以上かつ4.5MPa1/2以下であることが特に好ましい。
基材として表面が鏡面加工された、炭素鋼S−50Cを材料とする20mm角かつ厚さ5mmの準備した。また、表2に示すめっき浴を準備した。シリコーン粒子としてオクタメチルシルセスキオキサン(Sigma−Aldrich製、品番526835)を用いた。オクタメチルシルセスキオキサンのハンセン溶解度パラメータは、分散項δDが10.6MPa1/2、分極項δPが2.7MPa1/2、水素結合項δHが2.9MPa1/2であり、ハンセン溶解球の相互作用半径は、4.5MPa1/2未満であった。また、顕微鏡観察によりこの粒子の粒径(直径)を測定したところ、粒径は、10μm以下であった。
成膜した複合めっき膜の表面のSEM像を図2に示す。図2において、黒く見える部分はNi−P合金マトリクス相を示しており、白く見える部分はシリコーン粒子を示している。図2から、シリコーン粒子が複合めっき膜内に均質に分散していることがわかった。
水または溶媒を複合めっき膜の表面に滴下し、複合めっき膜に対する水または溶媒の静的接触角を測定した。測定は、試料の表面の5箇所に液滴を滴下して測定値を5点採取し、その平均値を測定結果として表4に示した。なお、表4には、接触角の測定における標準偏差の値を併せて表示している。また、比較例として、従来公知の膜としてポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)微粒子を共析させた複合ニッケル―リン合金めっき膜、および、PTFE板材に対する水または溶媒の静的接触角を測定した。その結果を表5に示した。水、ジヨードメタンについては、本実施例による複合めっき膜が最も高い接触角を示した。水の複合めっき膜に対する静的接触角は100°以上であり、非常に高い値を示した。また、エチレングリコールについては、PTFE板材には及ばなかったが、PTFE微粒子を共析させた複合ニッケル―リン合金めっき膜よりは、高い接触角値を示した。本実施例の複合めっき膜は、フッ素樹脂を用いないが、フッ素樹脂を用いた従来の複合めっき膜と同等の撥水性および撥油性能有することが分かった。なお、表面張力が高い溶媒を用いるほど、静的接触角の値は高くなるため、ジヨードメタン、エチレングリコールは表面張力が45〜50mN/m程度であることを考慮すると、表面張力が45mN/m以上である有機溶媒の複合めっき膜に対する静的接触角は90°以上となると推定される。
次に、成膜した複合めっき膜のビッカース硬度を測定し、その後、300℃、350℃、400℃で焼成を行った。図5,6に、300℃で焼成した後の複合めっき膜を電子線マイクロアナライザーにより分析した結果を示す。図6に示すように、焼成後も原材料として用いたオクタメチルシルセスキオキサンが成膜した複合めっき膜中に存在していることを確認することができた。
無電解めっき処理工程における処理条件を検討した。表2のめっき浴に対して、シリコーン微粒子の濃度を0.3g/L、2.0g/Lに変更しためっき浴を準備した。これらのめっき浴を用いて、図1に示す製造フローを行った後の複合めっき膜の半定量分析を行い、複合めっき膜に含まれるSi原子等の含有率を測定した。結果を表7に示す。また、各複合めっき膜に対する水の静的接触角を測定した。結果を図7に示す。表7より、複合めっき膜におけるSi原子の含有率は、めっき浴中のシリコーン微粒子濃度に比例せず、めっき浴中のシリコーン微粒子濃度によらずほぼ同程度であることがわかった。また、図7に示すように、複合めっき膜に対する水の静的接触角は、めっき浴中のシリコーン微粒子濃度に比例せず、めっき浴中のシリコーン微粒子濃度によらずほぼ同程度であることがわかった。めっき浴中のシリコーン微粒子濃度を高くしても複合めっき膜に対する水の静的接触角が殆ど変化しないため、めっき浴中のシリコーン微粒子濃度は2g/L以下であればよいことがわかった。めっき浴中のシリコーン微粒子濃度は2g/L以下であることが好ましく、0.3g/L以上かつ2g/L以下であることがより好ましい。
Claims (10)
- 合金マトリクス相と、前記合金マトリクス相内に分散されたシリコーンとを含み、
該シリコーンはオクタメチルシルセスキオキサンである複合めっき膜。 - 前記シリコーンは、シロキサン骨格の側鎖基がアルキル基である請求項1に記載の複合めっき膜。
- 前記シリコーンのハンセン溶解度パラメータは、分散項δDが15MPa1/2以下かつ分極項δPが3MPa1/2以下かつ水素結合項δHが3MPa1/2以下である請求項1または2に記載の複合めっき膜。
- 前記シリコーンのハンセン溶解球の相互作用半径は、5.0MPa1/2以下である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の複合めっき膜。
- 前記シリコーンは、粒径の最大値が20μm以下の粒子である請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の複合めっき膜。
- 前記複合めっき膜に含まれる前記シリコーンの含有率は、該シリコーンを構成するSi原子の質量パーセント表示で該複合めっき膜全体に対して3.5質量%以上である請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の複合めっき膜。
- 水の前記複合めっき膜に対する静的接触角は100°以上である請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の複合めっき膜。
- 前記合金マトリクス相は、Ni、Cu、Coから選ばれる1種以上の金属を含む請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の複合めっき膜。
- 前記合金マトリクス相は、Ni−P合金マトリクス相である請求項8に記載の複合めっき膜。
- 前記Ni−P合金マトリクス相におけるリンの濃度は、該Ni−P合金マトリクス相全体に対して5質量%以上かつ11質量%以下である請求項9に記載の複合めっき膜。
