Description
The present invention relates to an in-vehicle display device configured such that a viewer in a vehicle visually observes a virtual image formed forward.
Patent Document 1 describes an invention related to a head-up display device.
In the head-up display device, a first projection lens and a second projection lens are provided in front of the projector, and a first screen and a second screen are further provided in front. The image displayed on the first screen through the first projection lens is reflected by the reflection mirror to become the first virtual image in front of the vehicle, and the image displayed on the second screen through the second projection lens is reflected by the reflection mirror. It becomes a 2nd virtual image ahead of vehicles.
Since the positions of the first projection lens and the first screen are fixed, the display position of the first virtual image is fixed. On the other hand, the second screen is moved in the optical axis direction by the motor, and the second projection lens is also moved in the optical axis direction following this, so that the display position of the second virtual image is the second in front of the vehicle. Move back and forth in conjunction with screen movement.
The head-up display device described in Patent Document 1 displays the current vehicle speed or the like of a vehicle by a first virtual image at a fixed position and displays a warning for an interrupting vehicle by a second virtual image when the vehicle travels. In this warning display, a frame surrounding the interrupting vehicle is displayed, the second screen moves back and forth according to the distance between the own vehicle and the interrupting vehicle, and the display position of the frame (second virtual image) that is the warning display is And move back and forth depending on the distance from the interrupting vehicle.
In the head-up display device described in Patent Document 1, the first virtual image is displayed at a fixed position in front of the vehicle. As described in paragraph “0064”, as the first virtual image, the current vehicle speed, Information signs, map images, traffic information, news, weather forecasts, times, smartphone screens, TV programs, and the like are displayed.
That is, all the images that should be displayed as images that do not move forward and backward except for the warning display in which the frame surrounding the interrupting vehicle moves are displayed as the first virtual image at a relatively close position in front of the vehicle. .
If all the information to be displayed as an image that does not move back and forth is displayed as the first virtual image at the same display position, the driver must always point the line of sight toward the first virtual image. May be removed. In particular, the display information such as the current vehicle speed, guide signs, and map images listed above includes a large amount of information, so a wide range of display area is required to display them. It becomes. Therefore, by looking at this display, there is a high possibility that attention to the front during driving will be removed.
In order to perform display with a large amount of information as described above, as shown in FIGS. 15 and 17 of Patent Document 1, the conventional head-up display device separates the first virtual image from the steering wheel to the left side considerably. It must be displayed at the specified position. For this reason, the driver must always turn his / her line of sight to the left side, which further adversely affects driving.
Further, in the head-up display device, in order to increase the amount of information to be displayed, a wide range on the left and right in front of the driver's field of view is a first virtual image formation region, and most of the region is a number, symbol or character. The information display area must be used. In this case, it is necessary for the driver to visually recognize a very wide range, and the driver's field of view is easily obstructed.
Furthermore, in the head-up display device described in Patent Document 1, the range in which the second virtual image is displayed is set as a display area in the same extent as the range of the first virtual image. While viewing the second virtual image located at, the entire image of the first virtual image located below the front window may enter the field of view. For the driver, the visibility is reduced and the amount of information captured during driving This leads to an increase in the safety, which is not preferable in terms of safety.
Also,
When the display range of the first virtual image and the second virtual image is approximately the same, if the driver shifts the driving posture and the head position is shifted in the vertical direction, the driver A phenomenon in which the second virtual image overlaps and becomes visible is also likely to occur.
The present invention solves the above-described conventional problem, and enables driving information of a vehicle to be displayed both in the center of the visual field range when the viewer looks at the front and in the region off the center. Thus, an object of the present invention is to provide an in-vehicle display device that makes it easy to give information to the driver and can turn the driver's line of sight forward as much as possible.
The present invention includes a transmission screen, an image generation unit that generates an intermediate image on the transmission screen, and a projection unit that projects the intermediate image onto the concave surface of the curved half mirror, and the convex side of the half mirror In the in-vehicle display device in which the viewer can view the virtual image formed in the front from the concave side of the half mirror,
The virtual image is separated into a distant image away from the half mirror and a near image closer to the half mirror.
The far image is displayed at the center of the visual field range when the viewer looks at the front, and the near image is displayed at a position off the center of the visual field range ,
Center in the lateral direction of the proximal image, than the end portions of the right and left direction of the distant images are those characterized that you located outside.
In the vehicle-mounted display device of the present invention, for example, the center of the visual field range is located on the center line of the steering wheel mounted on the vehicle.
In the in-vehicle display device of the present invention, it is preferable that a center portion in the left-right direction of the far image is located at the center of the visual field range.
In the vehicle-mounted display device of the present invention, the far-field image and the near-field image are located apart from each other without overlapping in the left-right direction when viewed from the viewer.
Alternatively, in the in-vehicle display device of the present invention, the near image is arranged on both sides of the far image in the left-right direction, and the near images are located apart from each other without overlapping the far image. Yes.
Vehicle display device of the present invention, the proximal image, or may be located remotely without overlapping lower than the distant image viewed from the viewer.
In the vehicle-mounted display device of the present invention, it is preferable that the area of the near image display area is smaller than the area of the far image display area as viewed from the viewer.
The in-vehicle display device of the present invention displays, for example, a vehicle traveling speed or a vehicle traveling instruction as the far image.
On the other hand, car navigation and driving alert are displayed as the near image.
In the in-vehicle display device of the present invention, a distant image and a near image are displayed as virtual images in front of the curved half mirror. The half mirror here is a windshield glass of a vehicle. Or the half mirror arrange | positioned in the vehicle interior side rather than the windshield glass may be sufficient.
A far-field image is displayed at the center of the field of view when the viewer looks at the front, for example, in front of the center of the steering wheel mounted on the vehicle. Information that is always displayed, such as instructions, and information that is frequently viewed are displayed. In addition, a near image is displayed at a position deviated from the central portion, and information with relatively low visual frequency such as car navigation and driving alert is displayed as the near image.
A driver who is a driver always needs to direct his / her line of sight toward a far distant position in front, but only a minimum amount of information is displayed on a distant image at a position that easily enters the field of view during traveling. On the other hand, the near image displaying other information with low viewing frequency is displayed at a position closer to the far image and away from the center. For this reason, during traveling, a distant image mainly enters the field of view, and the amount of display information is small, so that it is possible to suppress viewing unnecessary information and to prevent the driver from paying attention to driving. In addition, information with a low viewing frequency or information that requires attention is displayed as a near image without overlapping with the far image, and thus does not hinder the display of the far image. Moreover, since the driver can view the near-field image only by shifting the line of sight, it is also easy to check various information.
Further, by disposing the distant image and the near image apart from each other, even if the viewer moves his / her head, the distant and near images do not overlap with each other.

A driver's seat 7 is provided in the passenger compartment space 5, and a
画像生成部18はDLP(Digital Light Processing)プロジェクタである。
As schematically shown in FIG. 2, the in-

The
The projection path L1 from the

In FIG. 3, a
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, in the
The displayable range of the
In the display example shown in FIG. 3, the
The
The display example shown in FIG. 3 is the most preferable example, and the
Also in the display example shown in FIG. 4, the

In each of the display examples of FIGS. 3 and 4, information that needs to be displayed constantly or frequently viewed is displayed on the
An example of information that needs to be displayed constantly as the
Information with low visual frequency displayed as the
In this way, when the display is in a display state such as blinking when it becomes a state to be notified of danger, the
The
On the other hand, the
Further, information with a low viewing frequency displayed in the
