Description
本出願は,2013年9月20日出願の米国仮特許出願第61/880270号,名称「電気的に活性化される材料を用いたディスペンサポンプ(DISPENSER PUMP USING ELECTRICALLY ACTIVATED MATERIAL)」に対する優先権を主張し,前記出願は参照により本出願に援用される。
図1を参照すると,本発明の実施形態による製品ディスペンサが図示されており,全体として10で示されている。ディスペンサ10は製品を計量して分注し,前記製品は石鹸,ローション又は殺菌剤等のハンドケア製品を含んでよいが,他のタイプの流体製品を製品ディスペンサから分注してもよい。
Claims (15)
- ディスペンサの流体リザーバから流体を分注するためのポンプであって:
ポンプ入口であって,前記ポンプ入口を通して前記流体リザーバから前記流体が収容されるポンプ入口と;
前記入口を通して収容された前記流体を貯蔵するためのポンプ室と;
前記ポンプ室を選択的に圧縮又は減圧すると共に,前記ポンプ室の圧縮時,前記ポンプ入口を封止し,前記ポンプ室の減圧時,前記ポンプ入口を開くための可撓性膜であって,前記可撓性膜は,両面にそれぞれ導電性材料を備え,該導電性材料への電圧の印加によって剛性が変化する絶縁性ポリマー材料により構成され,第1の電圧が前記可撓性膜に印加された場合に第1の柔軟性を有し,また第2の電圧が前記可撓性膜に印加された場合に第2の柔軟性を有する,可撓性膜と;
前記可撓性膜に圧力をかけるための付勢装置であって,前記圧力は,前記可撓性膜が前記第1の柔軟性を有する場合に前記可撓性膜を曲げて,前記ポンプ室を圧縮すると共に前記ポンプ入口を封止する,第1の付勢装置と;及び
ポンプ出口であって,前記ポンプ室が圧縮された場合に前記流体が前記ポンプ出口を通して分注される,ポンプ出口とを備えて成るものであって,
前記可撓性膜に第2の圧力をかけるための第2の付勢装置を備え,前記第2の付勢装置は,前記可撓性膜に対し前記ポンプ入口の反対側に配置され,前記第2の圧力は,前記可撓性膜が前記第1の柔軟性を有する場合に,前記可撓性膜を曲げて,前記ポンプ入口を封止すると共に,
前記可撓性膜に第3の圧力をかけるための第3の付勢装置を備え,前記第3の付勢装置は,前記可撓性膜に対し前記ポンプ出口と同一側に配置され,前記第3の圧力は,前記可撓性膜が前記第1の柔軟性を有する場合に,前記可撓性膜を曲げて,前記ポンプ出口を開放するポンプ。 - 前記可撓性膜が前記第2の柔軟性を有する場合,前記圧力は,前記可撓性膜を曲げるには不十分である請求項1記載のポンプ。
- 前記可撓性膜は,前記ポンプ室の壁を形成する請求項2記載のポンプ。
- 前記第1の電圧又は前記第2の電圧のうちの少なくとも一方を印加するための直流(DC)電圧源を備え,前記第1の導電性材料は,前記DC電圧源の第1の端子に接続され,前記第2の導電性材料は,前記DC電圧源の第2の端子に接続され,前記第2の端子は,前記第1の端子の極性とは反対の極性を有する請求項1記載のポンプ。
- 前記第2の電圧は,0ボルトの電圧に相当する請求項1記載のポンプ。
- 前記第1の付勢装置は,前記可撓性膜に対し前記ポンプ室の反対側に配置される請求項1記載のポンプ。
- 前記ポンプ室と前記ポンプ出口との間の流体経路に沿って隆起したリムが配置され,前記隆起したリムは,前記可撓性膜が前記第2の柔軟性を有している間,前記可撓性膜に接触して,前記ポンプ出口を封止する請求項1記載のポンプ。
- 前記可撓性膜は,前記第1の電圧の印加前には第1の形状を有し,前記可撓性膜は,前記第2の電圧が印加されるのに応答して前記第1の形状に復帰するよう構成される請求項1記載のポンプ。
- 前記付勢装置は,ばねを備える請求項1記載のポンプ。
- ディスペンサの流体リザーバから流体を分注するためのポンプであって:
ポンプ入口であって,前記ポンプ入口を通して前記流体リザーバから前記流体が収容される,ポンプ入口と;
前記ポンプ入口を通して収容された前記流体を貯蔵するための,ポンプ室と;
前記ポンプ室を選択的に圧縮又は減圧すると共に,前記ポンプ室の圧縮時,前記ポンプ入口を封止し,前記ポンプ室の減圧時,前記ポンプ入口を開くための可撓性膜であって,前記可撓性膜は,両面にそれぞれ導電性材料を備え,該導電性材料への電圧の印加によって剛性が変化する絶縁性ポリマー材料により構成され,第1の電圧が前記可撓性膜に印加された場合に第1の柔軟性を有し,また第2の電圧が前記可撓性膜に印加された場合に第2の柔軟性を有する,可撓性膜と;
前記可撓性膜に圧力をかけるための付勢装置であって,前記圧力は,前記可撓性膜が前記第1の柔軟性を有する場合に前記可撓性膜を曲げて,前記ポンプ室を圧縮すると共に前記ポンプ入口を封止する,第1の付勢装置と;及び
ポンプ出口であって,前記ポンプ室が圧縮された場合に前記流体が前記ポンプ出口を通して分注される,ポンプ出口とを備えて成るものであって,
前記可撓性膜に第2の圧力をかけるための第2の付勢装置を備え,前記第2の付勢装置は,前記可撓性膜に対し前記ポンプ出口と同一側に配置され,前記第2の圧力は,前記可撓性膜が前記第1の柔軟性を有する場合に,前記可撓性膜を曲げて,前記ポンプ出口を開放するポンプ。 - 前記第1の付勢装置は,前記可撓性膜に対し前記ポンプ室の反対側に配置される請求項10記載のポンプ。
- 前記ポンプ出口が,前記可撓性膜が前記第2の柔軟性を有している間,前記可撓性膜とリムによって密閉される開口部によって画定される請求項10記載のポンプ。
- 前記第1の付勢装置は,前記可撓性膜に対し前記ポンプ室の反対側に配置され,前記圧力は,前記第1の電圧が印加された場合に前記可撓性膜を曲げて,前記ポンプ室を圧縮する請求項10記載のポンプ。
- ディスペンサから流体を分注するための方法であって:
両面に導電性材料を備え,該導電性材料への電圧の印加によって剛性が変化する絶縁性ポリマー材料により構成された可撓性膜に第1の圧力をかけるステップと;
前記流体を分注するための信号の受信に応答して,前記可撓性膜に前記圧力をかけながら,第1の電圧を前記可撓性膜に印加するステップであって,前記第1の電圧は,前記可撓性膜上の前記第1の圧力が,前記可撓性膜を,ポンプ入口と封止接触するように曲げると共に,前記流体を貯蔵するポンプ室内へと曲げることにより,前記ポンプ室によって前記流体が圧縮され,ポンプ出口を通して押出されるレベルまで,前記可撓性膜の柔軟性を上昇させるステップと;
前記可撓性膜に前記圧力をかけながら,第2の電圧を前記可撓性膜に印加するステップであって,前記第2の電圧は,前記可撓性膜上の前記圧力が,前記可撓性膜を曲げず,前記ポンプ入口を開放すると共に前記ポンプ室が減圧されるレベルまで,前記可撓性膜の柔軟性を低下させるステップと;及び
前記可撓性膜に第2の圧力をかけるステップであって,前記第1の電圧の印加中に,前記可撓性膜に対し前記ポンプ出口と同一側に前記第2の圧力をかけて前記ポンプ出口を開放するステップと
を含む方法。 - 前記可撓性膜に第3の圧力をかけるステップであって,前記第1の電圧の印加中に,前記可撓性膜に対し前記ポンプ入口と反対側に前記第3の圧力をかけて前記ポンプ入口を封止するステップを含む請求項14記載の方法。
