Description
(1) 回転するディスクに向けてブレーキパッドをピストンで押圧することにより前記ディスクを制動するブレーキパッドであって、
前記ディスク側に設けられた摩擦材と、前記摩擦材の前記ディスクと反対側に接合された裏板とを備え、
前記裏板の前記ピストンと当接する当接部の厚さが一定であり、前記裏板の縁部の厚さよりも大きく、
前記当接部は平面視で環状をなし、前記当接部の内側に、前記裏板の厚さ方向に貫通する孔部が設けられており、
前記裏板が、樹脂と、第1の繊維群と、前記第1の繊維群を構成する繊維よりも長さの短い複数の繊維で構成された第2の繊維群とを含む材料で構成されており、
少なくとも第1の繊維が、前記裏板の面方向に配向していることを特徴とするブレーキパッド。
前記リブの高さが前記当接部から前記縁部に向かって漸減している上記(1)または(2)に記載のブレーキパッド。
[キャリパ装置]
図1および図2は、それぞれ、本発明のキャリパ装置の一例を示す断面図である。図1および図2は、それぞれ、キャリパ装置をディスクに配置した状態を示す図である。これらのうち、図1は、ディスクの制動が解除されている状態を示すための図であり、図2は、キャリパ装置により、ディスクが制動されている状態を示すための図である。
なお、以下の説明では、図1中の上側を「上」、下側を「下」と言う。
キャリパ装置100は、非制動時(初期状態)では、摩擦材12の下面が、ディスク200の上面と若干の隙間を隔てて離間している。
次に、本発明のキャリパ装置が備えるブレーキパッドの第1実施形態について説明する。
ブレーキパッド10は、前述したように、裏板11と摩擦材12とが接合した接合体で構成されている。
摩擦材12は、制動時にディスク200と当接し、この当接による摩擦によって、ディスク200の回転を抑制する機能を有している。
裏板11は、硬質かつ高い機械的強度を有する。このため、裏板11は、変形しにくく、摩擦材12を確実に支持することができるとともに、制動時にピストンの押圧力を、均一に摩擦材12に伝達することができる。また、裏板11は、制動時に、摩擦材12がディスク200に摺接することで生じる摩擦熱や振動をピストンに伝え難くすることができる。
<<裏板用組成物>>
以下、裏板用組成物を構成する各材料について詳細に説明する。
本実施形態において、裏板用組成物は、樹脂を含む。
本実施形態において、裏板用組成物は、複数本の繊維を含むが、複数本の繊維として、複数本の第1の繊維を含むのが好ましく、複数本の第1の繊維と複数本の第2の繊維とを含むのがさらに好ましい。
第1の繊維の平均長さをL1[μm]とし、第2の繊維の平均長さをL2[μm]としたとき、L2/L1が0.001〜0.5の関係を満足するのが好ましく、0.01〜0.4の関係を満足するのがより好ましく、0.015〜0.3の関係を満足するのがさらに好ましい。第1の繊維の平均長さL1と、第2の繊維の平均長さL2との比率L2/L1が、前記範囲内であると、裏板用組成物は、その成形性がより向上し、裏板11は、寸法精度および機械的強度が特に高くなる。
樹脂として、例えば、フェノール樹脂を用いる場合には、硬化剤としては、2官能以上のエポキシ系化合物、イソシアネート類、および、ヘキサメチレンテトラミン等から選択して用いることができる。
次に、本発明のブレーキパッドの第2実施形態について説明する。
次に、本発明のブレーキパッドの第3実施形態について説明する。
また、このような孔部114の内側には、厚さが当接部111の厚さより薄い薄肉部が、設けられていてもよい。薄肉部は、当接部111の内側の高さ方向のいかなる位置に設けられていてもよい。例えば、裏板11(当接部111)の下面(摩擦材12)側に設けられていてもよく、当接部111の上面(ピストン30)側に設けられていてもよく、当接部111の上面と下面との間(中央部)に設けられていてもよい。また、このような薄肉部の数は、特に限定されず、1つであっても複数であってもよい。裏板11の軽量化および、剛性を高める観点からは、薄肉部の数は、1〜3程度であることが好ましい。
Claims (5)
- 回転するディスクに向けてブレーキパッドをピストンで押圧することにより前記ディスクを制動するブレーキパッドであって、
前記ディスク側に設けられた摩擦材と、前記摩擦材の前記ディスクと反対側に接合された裏板とを備え、
前記裏板の前記ピストンと当接する当接部の厚さが一定であり、前記裏板の縁部の厚さよりも大きく、
前記当接部は平面視で環状をなし、前記当接部の内側に、前記裏板の厚さ方向に貫通する孔部が設けられており、
前記裏板が、樹脂と、第1の繊維群と、前記第1の繊維群を構成する繊維よりも長さの短い複数の繊維で構成された第2の繊維群とを含む材料で構成されており、
少なくとも第1の繊維が、前記裏板の面方向に配向していることを特徴とするブレーキパッド。 - 前記裏板は、前記当接部から前記縁部に向かって厚さが漸減する漸減部を有する請求項1に記載のブレーキパッド。
- 前記裏板は、前記当接部から前記縁部に向かって伸びたリブを有し、
前記リブの高さが前記当接部から前記縁部に向かって漸減している請求項1または2に記載のブレーキパッド。 - 前記当接部における前記裏板の厚さは、4mm〜12mmである請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載のブレーキパッド。
- 請求項1ないし4のいずれか1項に記載の前記ブレーキパッドと、ディスクに向けて前記ブレーキパッドを押圧するピストンと、前記ピストンを移動可能に保持するキャリパとを備えることを特徴とするキャリパ装置。
