Description
The present invention relates to an intake device for an internal combustion engine.
In an EGR system of an internal combustion engine, an EGR gas pipe is connected to an intake pipe in order to return a part of exhaust gas as EGR gas to the intake system.
By the way, when the EGR gas is recirculated to the intake system in an internal combustion engine having left and right banks such as a V-type engine, the amount of EGR gas flowing to the left and right banks is equalized in order to reduce the variation in the EGR rate between the cylinders. It is necessary to make it.
An object of the present invention is to provide an intake device for an internal combustion engine that can equalize the amount of EGR gas flowing through the first bank and the second bank.
In the first aspect of the present invention, an intake pipe in which two branch pipes for the first bank and the second bank are connected to one fresh air intake pipe through which a fresh air flows through a branch portion; An intake system for an internal combustion engine comprising an EGR gas pipe for introducing EGR gas into the intake pipe, wherein an EGR gas inlet of the EGR gas pipe is connected to the branch portion of the intake pipe, and the intake pipe A bulging portion that protrudes outward is formed at a portion of the branching portion that faces the EGR gas inlet, and the bulging portion has a swirl flow caused by EGR gas flowing from the EGR gas inlet on an inner wall thereof. The gist of the present invention is to have a swirl flow path surface having an arcuate cross section for forming the.
According to the first aspect of the present invention, the EGR gas inlet of the EGR gas pipe is connected to the branch portion of the intake pipe, and a bulge that protrudes outward at a portion facing the EGR gas inlet in the branch portion of the intake pipe. A protruding portion is formed, and the bulging portion has a swirl flow path surface having an arcuate cross section on the inner wall thereof. Then, since a swirl flow is formed along the swirl flow path surface of the bulging portion by the EGR gas flowing in from the EGR gas inlet at the branch portion of the intake pipe, the swirling of the EGR gas by the bulging portion without the bulging portion. Compared with the case where a flow is not formed, it is less susceptible to pulsation, and the amount of EGR gas flowing to the first bank and the second bank can be equalized.
As described in claim 2, in the intake device for an internal combustion engine according to
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the intake device for an internal combustion engine according to the first or second aspect, the EGR gas pipe may be connected in a tangential direction of the bulging portion having the arcuate cross section.
4. The intake device for an internal combustion engine according to
According to the present invention, the amount of EGR gas flowing through the first bank and the second bank can be equalized.
DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, an embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
In the present embodiment, an orthogonal coordinate system in a three-dimensional space is defined by an X axis, a Y axis, and a Z axis that are orthogonal to each other so that the structure of the invention can be easily understood.
As shown in FIG. 1, the
An
An
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the
The fresh
A part of the exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine is returned to the intake system as EGR gas via the EGR
As shown in FIG. 1, an
As shown in FIG. 2, EGR gas is introduced into the
The connection position of the EGR
Fresh air and EGR gas alternately flow (intake) in the
The EGR gas is introduced into the intake pipe in a flow according to the connection state of the EGR gas pipe to the intake pipe due to restrictions on the layout of the EGR gas pipe, and thereafter, fresh air introduced through the fresh air intake pipe Will join. At this time, if the flow of EGR gas is biased to either of the left and right banks, there is a possibility that variations in the EGR rate (the ratio of fresh air and EGR gas) to the left and right banks may occur.
A pipe for the one fresh
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the two
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, a bulging
Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the bulging
As shown in FIG. 2, the diameter r1 of the
Next, the operation will be described.
Fresh air is introduced from the fresh
The flow of EGR gas from the
The flow of EGR gas enters the
In this way, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the swirl portion St1 is formed by the bulging
In FIG. 2, when the EGR gas flow is introduced from the left side and flows toward the right side, it flows along the inner wall on the right side and then merges, so that the EGR gas easily flows to the right bank side, while fresh air is EGR. It tends to flow to the left bank side due to the relative relationship with the gas flow. This phenomenon will be described with reference to FIGS. 4, 5, 6, and 7 schematically show a new air flow and an EGR gas flow when the ends of the
6 and 7 are comparative examples, and there is no bulging
In the present embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the EGR gas flow becomes a swirl flow St1, so that a pool space R1 is formed, which makes it easier for the EGR gas to go to the left bank side, 52 flows evenly. As a result, fresh air also flows equally in the left and
In this way, the amount of EGR gas that flows to the left and right banks can be made equal regardless of the direction of the piping (the direction of the EGR gas pipe or the fresh air intake pipe). Further, it is possible to make the amount of EGR gas flowing to the left and right banks less susceptible to the influence of pulsation. As a result, the EGR rates for the left and right banks can be equalized, and the EGR rates for the six cylinders can be made uniform.
In particular, as shown in FIG. 4, when the
In addition, since the
Further, a bulging
As a result, it is possible to equalize the amount of EGR gas flowing to the left and right banks while avoiding complicated shapes.
According to the above embodiment, the following effects can be obtained.
