Description
さらに本発明によれば、本発明の双方向流熱交換カテーテルを挿入し、前記カテーテルを介して熱交換媒体を循環させて、対象者の体温の制御の所望の変更をもたらすことにより、ヒトまたは動物の対象者の体温を変更または制御するための方法が提供される。
また図4に示すように、完全に組み立てられたときに、この例のカテーテル装置12は、その基端部上にハブ30を備える。ハブ30は、流出管腔コネクター32(流出管腔19に接続される)と、流入管腔コネクター34(流入管腔18に接続される)と、任意選択の内側注入管腔コネクター36(任意選択の内側注入管腔に接続される)、貫通管腔コネクター36(先端側注入またはガイドワイヤ管腔として使用可能な貫通管腔16に接続される)、および任意選択の基端側注入管腔コネクター36(任意選択の基端側注入管腔に接続される)を有する。
Claims (15)
- 熱交換カテーテル装置であって、
流入管腔、流出管腔および熱交換領域を有する長尺状シャフトであって、前記熱交換領域が管状導管を備え、前記管状導管の一端が前記流入管腔に接続されるとともに、該管状導管の他端が前記流出管腔に接続されている、長尺状シャフトと、
第1の直径または断面寸法の複数のループまたは渦巻きを有する、前記管状導管の第1セグメントであって、流体供給流路を形成し、該流体供給流路を通って熱交換流体が前記流入管腔に接続されている前記管状導管の端部から先端方向に流れる、第1セグメントと、
第2の直径または断面寸法の複数のループまたは渦巻きを有する、前記管状導管の第2セグメントであって、流体帰還流路を形成し、該流体帰還流路を通って熱交換流体が前記流出管腔に接続されている前記管状導管の端部まで基端方向に帰還する、第2セグメントと、
を備えており、
前記複数のループまたは渦巻きの前記第1の直径または断面寸法および前記複数のループまたは渦巻きの第2の直径または断面寸法の一方が、前記複数のループまたは渦巻きの前記第1の直径または断面寸法および前記複数のループまたは渦巻きの第2の直径または断面寸法の他方よりも大きい、
熱交換カテーテル装置。 - 前記流体供給流路が、前記流体帰還流路の複数のループまたは渦巻きと重なり合うか交差する複数のループまたは渦巻きを有している、請求項1に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記流体供給流路の長さが、前記流体帰還流路の長さと異なっている、請求項1又は2に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記管状導管の第1および第2セグメントが、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)およびポリエーテルブロックアミドから選択された1つ以上の材料から形成されている、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記管状導管が、0.0254mm(0.001インチ)未満の壁厚、または前記熱交換流体が循環するときに689KPa(100psi)までの圧力に耐えるのに十分な別の厚さを有している、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記管状導管が、前記長尺状シャフトの先端部分の間隔をおいた位置に通されるか通過させられている、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記熱交換カテーテル装置を通って長手方向に延び、かつ、先端側ポートにおいて先端側が終了する貫通管腔をさらに備えている、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記貫通管腔が、前記熱交換カテーテル装置のガイドワイヤ上における挿入を容易にするためのガイドワイヤ管腔として使用可能である、請求項7に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記貫通管腔が、治療物質または装置の送達を容易にするための送達管腔として使用可能である、請求項7に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記流体供給流路に形成された複数のループまたは渦巻きが、前記流体帰還流路に形成された複数のループまたは渦巻きと同軸ではない、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記流体供給流路に形成された複数のループまたは渦巻きが、前記流体帰還流路に形成された複数のループまたは渦巻きと同軸である、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置。
- 前記流体供給流路を通り、前記流体帰還流路を通り、前記流出管腔から出て、前記流入管腔内の加熱または冷却された熱交換流体を循環させるための装置と組み合わせる請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の熱交換カテーテル装置を備えている、システム。
- 対象者の体温を感知するための温度センサーをさらに備えている、請求項12に記載のシステム。
- 前記温度センサーが制御装置に接続されており、前記制御装置が、前記温度センサーから受け取った前記感知した対象者の体温の表示に応答して、前記熱交換流体の温度または流量を調節するようにプログラムされている、請求項13に記載のシステム。
- ユーザーインタフェースをさらに備えており、該ユーザーインタフェースによってユーザーが目標体温を前記制御装置に入力できる、請求項14に記載のシステム。
