Description
The present invention relates to a method for measuring the content of solvent-insoluble components in coal tar, coal tar pitches or petroleum pitches.
Coal tar, which is a heavy oil, and coal tar pitches, which are coal tar derivatives (soft pitch, medium pitch, hard pitch, various operations), are produced as by-products when coking coal in a coke oven to produce coke. Including the pitch in the process).
Conventionally, these solvent-insoluble components have been measured by taking a sample of coal tar or coal tar pitches, weighing it, dissolving it in a solvent, filtering, and washing the dissolved residue on the filter with a solvent. After drying, a method of obtaining the solvent-insoluble content in the sample by measuring its weight is adopted, and a series of operations of sample collection, dissolution, and drying are performed manually. For the measurement of the solvent-insoluble matter, a solvent such as quinoline, toluene, N-methylpyrrolidone, hexane or the like is used. Generally, in the case of quinoline, it is displayed as “QI (Quinoline Insoluble)”.
Conventionally, various measuring methods have been proposed in order to continuously and easily measure QI in a plant (process) handling coal tar and coal tar pitches.
For example, a liquid fine particle counter (particle counter) is applied to QI measurement of soft pitch, the number of insoluble particles in the sample is measured for each particle diameter, and the characteristic value is obtained from the correlation between these and the QI value. A measuring apparatus that automatically calculates QI from the characteristic value using an arithmetic unit has been proposed (Patent Document 1).
In addition, an absorptiometer is applied to measure the QI value of the soft pitch, and further, a high-viscosity bituminous sample sample to be measured is mixed with tar distillate oil as the first solvent to lower the viscosity. Proposed a measuring device that measures the absorbance of a sample after mixing with a mixing device (static mixer), mixing with quinoline as a second solvent, dissolving / diluting a predetermined amount with a static mixer (Patent Document 2). In this apparatus, the time required for QI measurement can be shortened to 20 minutes (paragraph 0037 of the same document).
By the way, since the technique of Patent Document 1 is limited in the number of particles that can be measured in terms of counting the number of particles, it is only applied to those having a solvent insoluble content of 1% by weight or less. There is a problem that high accuracy cannot be ensured when the QI measurement region becomes high and the number of particles increases.
Moreover, the technique of patent document 2 is the clogging in the static mixer by the solid content in the bitumen at the time of mixing with a static mixer, for example, the tar distillation in the pump which sends the tar distillate oil which is the 1st solvent. There is a problem of clogging in the pump due to solid content in the oil output, and it is difficult to measure stably. Furthermore, in the absorptiometer of Patent Document 2, the quinoline insoluble component in the sample sample is measured by the absorbance of the sample sample with a flow cell type absorptiometer, but the measurement principle and conditions by a specific absorptiometer, That is, there is no description about the wavelength of the light irradiated to the coal tar pitches to be measured, and it has not been found which range of absorption wavelength the QI in the coal tar pitch correlates with. It cannot be said that it is an industrially sufficient method and apparatus as a specific QI online measuring apparatus.
Therefore, in view of the above circumstances, the present invention can more accurately measure solvent insoluble components such as QI of coal tar, coal tar pitches or petroleum-based pitches generated from petroleum using an absorptiometer, and its distribution It is an object of the present invention to provide a method and an apparatus capable of measuring a solvent insoluble matter by a simple method having a wide measurement range and having a wide measurement range.
As a result of diligent studies to solve the above problems, the present inventor confirmed that QI and each visible and infrared analysis wavelength region by using an absorptiometer for multicomponent analysis in a plurality of wavelength regions simultaneously in the visible light and infrared regions. As a result, it was found that the correlation between the absorbance at one specific wavelength and the QI, and the ratio between the absorbance at a plurality of wavelengths and the QI are strong. And it discovered that there was a correlation between a specific wavelength and absorbance and a ratio of absorbance by a plurality of wavelengths for insoluble components such as a wide QI value, and the present invention was completed. It is.

In the absorbance analysis based on the visible, near-infrared, or infrared spectrum, the present invention is based on the absorbance at a wavelength selected from a specific wavelength region or the ratio of the absorbance at a wavelength selected from two specific wavelength regions. Based on the measurement of the solvent-insoluble content of coal tar, coal tar pitches or petroleum pitches, the insoluble matter can be obtained without changing the amount of sample (sampling amount) or changing the amount of diluted solvent. Minutes can be accurately measured regardless of the amount.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the embodiments. However, the present invention is not limited to these embodiments as long as the gist thereof is not exceeded.
The present invention relates to a solution obtained by mixing coal tar, coal tar pitch or petroleum pitch (hereinafter sometimes collectively referred to as “pitch or the like”) and a solvent (hereinafter referred to as “measurement sample”). It is an invention relating to a method for measuring the content ratio of the solvent-insoluble component.
The pitches or the like to be measured in the measurement method of the present invention may include at least one selected from coal tar, coal tar pitches, and petroleum pitches, and may be a mixture thereof. Good. Further, it may be a mixture of a plurality of coal tars, a mixture of a plurality of coal tar pitches, or a mixture of a plurality of petroleum pitches.
Moreover, as a measurement sample, pitches etc. and arbitrary compounds other than a solvent and a single-piece | unit may be contained.
The coal tar is preferably coal tar obtained by gradually cooling a crude steel coke oven gas produced in a coke oven and condensing one having a high boiling point. The coal tar pitches are obtained by removing light aromatic components by distillation of coal tar, preferably coal tar obtained from the above-mentioned coke oven.
The petroleum pitches are preferably atmospheric distillation residue or vacuum distillation residue in a petroleum refining process, and also include residue obtained by treating these residues with a fluid catalytic cracking apparatus. These pitches and the like may contain aromatic components, alkyl side chains, heterocyclic compounds, sulfur, nitrogen, oxygen and the like.
Furthermore, examples of the solvent include quinoline, toluene, N-methylpyrrolidone, pyridine, acetone, hexane, nitrobenzene, morpholine, chloroform, alcohol, and the like, preferably quinoline, toluene, pyridine, and pitches. Quinoline is more preferable from the viewpoint of having a high solubility in the like.
The method for mixing these solvents with the pitches and the like is not particularly limited. However, since the pitches and the like have high viscosity, it is preferable to mix them with stirring.
Alternatively, a part of the solution obtained by the stirring may be extracted, and a solution obtained by further diluting the extracted solution may be used as a measurement sample.
The content ratio of the solvent-insoluble component contained in the mixed solution (measurement sample) of the pitches and the solvent described above is an absorptivity capable of measuring the absorbance in the range from the visible light wavelength to the infrared light wavelength region. It can be calculated using a meter.
The absorptiometer preferably includes a sensor that simultaneously measures the absorbance at the measurement wavelengths in two or more wavelength regions.
That is, irradiating the measurement sample with a predetermined one light in the wavelength region of infrared light from the wavelength of visible light, measuring the absorbance at that wavelength, and calculating the content ratio of the solvent-insoluble content from the absorbance. Can do.
In addition, the measurement sample is irradiated with light in the wavelength region from visible light to near-infrared light and infrared light, the absorbance at each wavelength is measured, and the solvent-insoluble content is contained from the ratio of absorbance. The percentage can be calculated.
By using an absorbance measurement sensor based on visible, near infrared, or infrared spectrum, it can be applied to coal tar pitches with color tone changes that are not good for light and laser measurement methods. In addition, it can be used for measuring the absorbance of a solution containing multiple components. An example of such an absorbance measurement sensor is IM series Model 3192 manufactured by Chino Corporation.
The sample measurement cell used in the method of the present invention may be any cell that is usually used for the sample to be measured. For example, if the sample is liquid, a commercially available liquid cell for visible and infrared analysis (cell length 0) is used. 0.02 to 10 mm) can be used.
Moreover, it is also possible to install a flow cell in a spectroscope and to continuously measure the solvent insoluble content in the sample by passing the sample continuously therethrough. By adjusting the width of the cell, the measurement sample can be continuously circulated without staying in the cell even when the flow cell is used. It is also relatively easy to use a cell that can withstand high-temperature and high-pressure conditions that are often required during continuous analysis. Any conventionally used flow cell can be used.
The spectroscope emits visible light, near infrared light, or infrared light, but the distance between the spectroscope and the measurement sample is not necessarily limited as long as the absorbance can be calculated, but is preferably 20 to 400 mm, more Preferably it is 100-300 mm.
In the present invention, 400 to 1500 nm and 1700 to 2500 nm are used as measurement wavelength regions of the visible, near infrared, or infrared spectrum. Specifically, the measurement sample is irradiated with either one wavelength (λ1) selected from at least 400 to 1500 nm or one wavelength (λ2) selected from 1700 to 2500 nm, and a spectrum transmitted through the measurement sample is detected. The absorbance is calculated from this.
Among the above measurement wavelengths, the visible light to near infrared light region is preferably 700 to 1300 nm, more preferably 900 to 1100 nm, and even more preferably 950 to 1050 nm. When quinoline is used as a solvent and the quinoline insoluble content is measured, if a wavelength of less than 700 nm is used, it tends to be susceptible to a change in absorbance due to deterioration of quinoline.
Among the above measurement wavelengths, the infrared light region is preferably 1800 to 1900 nm or 2000 to 2150 nm. In the infrared light region, when a region other than these wavelength regions, specifically, a wavelength exceeding 1400 to 1600 nm, 1910 to 1990 nm, and 2200 nm is used, quinoline is used as a solvent and quinoline insoluble matter is measured. The absorbance tends to change under the influence of moisture absorption.
When obtaining the absorbance, usually, a solvent or air is measured in advance as a reference sample, and the absorbances Kλ1 and Kλ2 corresponding to the respective wavelengths are calculated from the measured values of the sample and the measurement sample, for example, from the formula (I).
Then, the solvent-insoluble content ratio can be measured from the absorbance (Kλ1, Kλ2) at λ1 or λ2. Further, the solvent-insoluble content ratio can be calculated from the ratio (Kλ2 / Kλ1) of the absorbance at λ1 (Kλ1) and the absorbance at λ2 (Kλ2).
Kλ1, which is the absorbance in the visible light to near infrared light region, is associated with the absorbance of the solvent, and Kλ2, which is the absorbance in the infrared light region, can be associated with the absorbance of the solvent insoluble matter. For this reason, if the measurement wavelengths of λ1 and λ2 are appropriately selected, the influence of temperature in infrared absorption can be reduced by using these ratios (Kλ2 / Kλ1) as a scale, and the content ratio of solvent-insoluble matter can be further increased. It can be measured accurately.
When calculating the content ratio of the solvent-insoluble component from the above ratio (Kλ2 / Kλ1), it is preferable to target the measurement sample having the ratio of 0.01 to 1, preferably 0.015 to 0.8. Is more preferably 0.02 to 0.6, and further preferably 0.025 to 0.4.
The content of the solvent-insoluble component contained in the measurement sample is preferably 0.1% by weight to 70% by weight, and more preferably 1% by weight to 30% by weight. If the solvent-insoluble content is too low, there may be a problem that it is not possible to obtain sufficient absorbance to measure the solvent-insoluble content of the measurement sample. On the other hand, if the content ratio of the solvent-insoluble component is too high, there may be a problem that the infrared rays to be irradiated do not reach the light receiving unit.
Although the specific gravity of the said measurement sample is not specifically limited, Preferably the specific gravity in 15 degreeC of temperature is 0.7-1.8, More preferably, it is 1.0-1.6. If the specific gravity is too large, the visible light and infrared rays to be irradiated may not easily reach the flow cell.
The spectrum of a predetermined wavelength transmitted from the light source of the infrared spectrometer reaches the light receiving portion while being attenuated and attenuated by molecules in the sample solution. Since the infrared transmitted light reaching this light receiving part is proportional to the solvent-insoluble content in the sample solution, the absorbance is calculated from the measured transmitted light, and the solvent-insoluble content is determined from the obtained absorbance. Can be calculated.

In FIG. 4, an infusion (process) line for pitches and the like in coke production or a sample line taken out from the line is connected to the
The

On the other hand, a temporary storage tank D2 is connected to a storage tank D1 of a solvent b such as quinoline via a pump P1, and this tank D2 is connected to the

The tank D2 is kept at 75 ° C., which is the temperature at the time of pitch melting specified in JIS-K2425. The
The
This analyzer has the above-described configuration, and all devices such as valves and pumps are automatically controlled. Next, the measurement operation will be described.
First, by opening the on-off valve V1, high-temperature pitches a and the like are sent to the
At this time, the opening and closing valves V3 and V4 are opened so that the pitches a and the like flow between the opening and closing valves V3 and V4, and the pitches a and the like are introduced into the
On the other hand, the solvent b is sent from the tank D1 to the tank D2 via the pump P1 and stored. Then, the solvent b is sent from the tank D2 to the
At this time, the dilution ratio of the solvent b with respect to the pitches a and the like is preferably about 1000 to 3000 times, and more preferably 1200 to 2000 times. Outside this range, if the dilution factor is too low, the amount of transmitted light will be small, making it impossible to measure absorbance. If the dilution factor is too high, the content of solvent-insoluble components in the sample solution will be below the detection limit. This may cause a problem that it cannot be measured.
The liquid sent to the dilution /
The measurement of absorbance in the visible, near-infrared or infrared wavelength region is repeated, as necessary, by alternately sending and discharging to the
In addition, the steam or cleaning liquid from the opening / closing valve V9 is passed through the
Further, a solvent b equal to or more than the amount used at the time of measurement is charged into the dilution /
Furthermore, the solvent b is passed through the
The above QI measurement and cleaning action are performed, for example, every 20 minutes to 1 hour, and the manufacturing process is controlled based on the real-time QI measurement value.
